ranting part three

why do some (not all) bsd fans hate the female characters so much? i don’t get it. like, everybody hates teruko for just DOING HER JOB because she was fighting sigma. then people say, ‘oh, i don’t like her because her childish personality is annoying not because she’s a woman just TRYING TO DO HER JOB’ and then their favorite character is ranpo. or, people will hate a female character because she ‘gets in the way of their favorite ship’. if you haven’t seen this before i’m happy for you, but an example is ‘lucy gets in the way of sskk!!’ seriously? like, seriously? that is so fucking stupid. (saying this as a sskk/taniatsu shipper) just ship whatever you want and let that character exist. and to those who deny this, if lucy was a man and akutagawa was a woman you’d hate akutagawa because she ‘gets in the way of atsulucy’ there’s also the ‘oh, her only personality is liking a man!!’ when we were first introduced to katai his only personality trait was liking a woman and the fandom still loved him. i don’t like that in any character, but i’m willing to put up with it if the author fleshes out the character’s personality later. i absolutely despise the way this fandom treats female characters, yeah, some of their writing isn’t the best but they’re still necessary to the plot. this has been lou. i’m sorry for all the rants i’ve been doing recently, but i’m pissed about a lot of things. thank you for coming to my ted talk.

The best thing is that all in the group are considered Fukuzawa's subordinated and they're under the ADA protection, but only Dazai, Chuuya, Aku, Kyoka and Verlaine actually work in the agency.

Kouyou open a flower shop and she go to visit Chuuya and Kyoka every day.

Tachihara convince himself is still following the Hunting Dogs orders, but he started to enjoy is job at the Uzumaki café with Higuci.

Q they're living in Verlaine place and they're going to school like a normal kid.

Hirotsu is enjoying is pension.

And when Mori try to have them back Fukuzawa is like: Nope, they're all adopted now.

Oda watching them from heaven: Wtf I've created

I just imagined a very funny BSD scenario where Dazai tells Chuuya that he’s gonna leave the mafia instead of just leaving him and Chuuya is like ‘Fuck it I’m coming’ but he wants to inform Kouyou so they do and she’s like ‘I’m coming too, not letting my baby brother alone’ and somewhere in they tell Aku and Gin and they also want to come-

Anyway, this just ends up with Mori going to bed with a perfectly functional mafia and wakes up with screams and chaos cause he just lost three executives, an assassin and the Dog of the Mafia. And probably a big chunk of armed forces cause you can’t tell me Higuchi wouldn’t go with Aku.

And like, two years later, the ADA has a very pellicular (and big) visit.

I'm thinking about a Alive! flags AU, and I'll add this trio in my list of headcanon. I already have a lot of ideas.

You know what's actually insane?

That for a very short time the Port Mafia had Iceman, Kouyou and Oda in it's ranks. Imagine what a trio they would have made if we had ever got to see them interact.

Forget Soukoku, Mori should have attempted to make this team up happen. He should have ushered in an age of deadly assassins instead of arranging play-dates for his problem children.

I know Oda has his no killing rule, but, shhhhhhh, he wouldn't have to kill on their missions, Iceman and Kouyou can take care of that part.

EDIT: Okay, I've been informed that they weren't all in the mafia at the same time, instead, Head canon! Wouldn't it be insane if they all were in the mafia at the same time

Thinking about Tachihara deciding to stay with the Mafia after everything's over.

Thinking about the government refusing to give him his next monthly surgery since he's no longer a Hunting Dog.

Thinking about him accepting and coming to terms with the fact that he's going to die, and even saying his goodbyes to his friends in the mafia.

Thinking about Hirotsu, Gin, Higuchi, Kouyou, Chuuya, all refusing to let him die like this, and scrambling to find a way to save him.

Thinking about Chuuya and Kouyou threatening the hospitals to give him the surgeries, and Gin and Higuchi sneaking around to find something that could help.

And then it hits them. The solution, which now seems so obvious in hindsight.

Thinking about Chuuya on the phone with the Detective Agency, and of course it's Dazai who picks up the other end.

Thinking about him sitting in the office, head in his hands, as he hears Chuuya asking him to let Yosano go to the Mafia base for a while.

Thinking about Dazai, out of genuine concern for her, refusing to let her go back to the Port Mafia.

Thinking about Yosano being out the door before Dazai even puts the phone down, because it's Michizō Tachihara. This is Shunzen's younger brother, of course she has to help him.

Thinking about Yosano, when she arrives at the PM base, not having to hurt him even a little bit to use her ability, because he's already that far gone, that broken.

Thinking about her sitting by his side, wondering if when he wakes up he's going to hate her for using the same ability on him that killed his brother.

But when Tachihara wakes up, all he can say to the doctor is "thank you," because he genuinely means it. Because of Yosano's ability, he's healed completely. He has no commitment to the Hunting dogs now.

(If i end this with "he's free" is that cringe?)

I was going to add RanPoe too but I have never really seen people actively hating on that ship. Most people love it or are neutral but I rarely see anyone hating it!

We all have a ship that's so popular that people often call it overrated. What's yours?

(PS: really sorry if any other got left out, I was writing these on top of my head so I don't know if there's more. Feel free to comment if you know any other siblings/sibling-ish dynamic I left out!)

Kouyou and Verlaine are so similar, no wonder they are both Chuuya's older sibling figures and Kyouka's mentors. Both are executives whose specialty is murder, and who we know have trained several assassins for the Port Mafia. They both encounter a teenager so much like themselves when they were younger that they decide to do everything to stop them from making the same mistakes they made, even if they end up hurting them in the process. They both genuinely believe that what they are doing is the best for Chuuya and Kyouka, based in their own past experiences, because they are so alike that, to them, there's no way that the outcome won't be the same. Their only interaction in Stormbringer is them fighting with each other, exactly because they disagree in what's best for Chuuya. Verlaine killed the flags to make Chuuya agree in letting the mafia, Kouyou was willing to kill Atsushi to distance Kyouka from the ada. Like, even their personalities are similar. I could totally see them being friends if they had met in a different way (but with the way they met in the cannon, I'm sure they still hold a grudge against each other. It doesn't matter that Verlaine understood the mistakes he made, and that Chuuya accepted him as his brother at the end of it all, they still don't get along and don't plan on doing so anytime soon).
