my favorite headcanon for jouno is that he can echolocate

imagine him clicking his tongue, or maybe listening for his footsteps and the sound waves, so he could understand how large the room is.

more practicality wise that combat, but in my opinion, him being trained in it would make sense.

Disclaimer: This is my first time translating and I don't really know japanese so there can be some translation mistakes but I was really pissed that there was no eng translation for this chapter so i just decided to do it myself. I used hundreds of different translators to get this as accurate as possible (don't ask how much time it took me😀) but anyway here it is. Hear me out: Verlaine and Rimbaud living happily in a ranch house in the French countryside with Chuuya who they adopted (read: stole). They live happily away from the control of any of their governments who want to use them.

And then a few years later, a group of kids, two of whom are currently younger than Chuuya, show up at their door asking for a place to stay for the night.

Verlaine does some digging and convinces Rimbaud to take them in.

And now Verlaine, who claims to be so far detached from humanity, is raising a bunch of kids.

Just like cute domestic moments with them too.

Teruko aging Chuuya up and him not getting any taller and getting upset

Tachihara tripping and scratching his nose and Verlaine cleans it and puts a bandaid on

Rimbaud using his ability when Jouno gets overwhelmed by things like thunderstorms

Tecchou eating his silly food combos and Verlaine, assuming this is normal people diet, joining in

They’re very careful about keeping them hidden because Rimbaud is worried the Japanese government will look for them (Verlaine and Chuuya both claim they would kick their asses causing Rimbaud to roll his eyes and kiss Verlaine and Chuuya to gag)

But eventually as time goes by, they calm down a bit

So we get Verlaine, Rimbaud, and their small army of government science projects at the amusement park and doing happy family activities and things like that

This post made me realize that Fukuchi is the dad you go to when Fukuzawa says no.

So you’re telling me Fukuchi genuinely rolled up with a 6 year old military vet, a 13 year old thief, a blind criminal mastermind, and Tecchou, who is Tecchou, and just asked to have a super powered military unit? And they said yes???

Low key the hunting dogs are so much further detached from humanity than I think we give them credit for.

Aside from the obvious dehumanizing of themselves to characters like Sigma or Kunikida, they also just treat their bodies like objects.

Teruko punctures her own eardrums without hesitation to protect her brain.

Jouno’s first thought when being lit on fire is using his blood to cool the flames.

Tecchou says that even if they knock him down from the helicopter, he’ll just use his sword to get right back up, not even mentioning the pain.

Tachihara stabs himself with his own ability to keep his cover. When the coin bomb explodes in his hand, he’s only mildly upset that it could’ve “messed him up”, before going back to what he was doing.

Fukuchi was willing to be the centerpiece of his plot for world peace, and intentionally took the blame. It’s no mistake that his plan included his death.

Beyond all that, Teruko describes them as slaves to society. Tachihara (and I think Fukuchi also does this) refers to them as the fangs of the government.

One of the translations of Fukuchi’s speech to Fukuzawa while he’s being interrogated is that the Hunting Dogs won’t rest until they catch their prey because that’s how they were designed.

Idk just something abt the silly dog soldiers and their own humanity. Not questioning it, that’s not their place. They already know that they’re weapons.

suegiku is absolutely insane like can we take a moment. at first their relationship is played off like a joke like haha tecchou watches ants and jouno hates him but man. man. the fact that tecchou is a man who places justice over everything, while jouno is a sadistic fuck who appears to have no moral code. but theyre partners!! tecchou reigns in jouno when he gets too out of hand. and THEN

tecchou wholeheartedly believing that jouno is a "hero that despises violence and protects the weak", when even the man who recruited jouno and inspired him to save others in the first place only did so because he thought jouno would be easy to use in villainy. of everyone, tecchou is the only one who believes in jouno:s goodness; the one who has spent the most time with him, the one who is known for being singleminded and terrifyingly focused when it comes to destroying evil, the one who's dumb as a brick and oblivious as hell. and he's right!! jouno refuses to join fukuchi. he proves fukuchi wrong. fukuchi was the one who originally saved him and gave him a second chance in helping others, and it was all so he could eventually use him as an assassin. and even though that was a lie, jouno still became a better person, and found someone that believes in him. GRAH.
