Tout reposait dans Ur et dans Jérimadeth ;
Les astres émaillaient le ciel profond et sombre ;
Booz endormi, Victor Hugo
This has definitely been pitched before, but petition for a remake of les miserables where everyone is a muppet except Javert
There's smth I don't know in BSD. Why the fuck is Victor Hugo in the transcendent??
It's said in Wikipedia that The Transcendents clashed, resulting in the most war casualties and damage in history. And Victor Hugo fit the ADA's mindset?
Maybe it's bc Victor Hugo was on the “bad side” before. Which means he blindly followed what the king said. But then he ended up rebelling. No longer agree with the king. He was for women's rights, against the death penalty, against forced child labor. I think he's a cool man, and I'd like to see him in the ADA (Plz he'd be a genius)
Maybe he's gonna be like a second Dazai—?
Ultra deduction feels like if Ayatsuji and Victor Hugo are introduced they'll get shipped together (except if Victor Hugo is an old man but if he's a baby girl…)
PLZZ ASAGIRI/HARUKAWA MADE VICTOR HUGO THE MOST BBG YOU COULD EVER
WAIT NO I CHANGE MY MIND VICTOR HUGO WILL LEAVE THE TRANSCEDANT BC HE LITTERALY FIT THE ADA'S MINDSET ??
Plz Asagiri i'm begging you add Victor Hugo in BSD. He's my bbg. Not but honestly, he's like everything we need. The real Victor Hugo is a courageous man, even going so far as to oppose Napoleon. He even mocked him (With a painting where Napoleon was seen as a flying bird, where he was scared, and where Victor Hugo was standing behind.) At first he wasn't like that and stupidly followed others. But ! He changed, opposed the death penalty, made an incredible speech against poverty, defended single women which at the time was frowned upon. He even showed in one of his best-known books that a man, judged a thief and who spent 19 years in the penal colony (which is worse than jail), could become a good man. And that only a simple thing, gesture, could change his life.
Plz he'll be so bbg. He'll probably be like in a french gang (or port mafia idk), and he'll join the ADA after. Character development plz.

Btw, this is what Gavroche sang before he died (This happened in the book), about my previous post where I included Victor Hugo in BSD world.
- On est laid à Nanterre (We are ugly at Nanterre)
C'est la faute à Voltaire (It's Voltaire's fault)
Et bête à Palaiseau (And dumb at Palaiseau)
C'est la faute à Rousseau (It's Rousseau's fault)
- Je ne suis pas notaire (I'm not notary)
C'est la faute à Voltaire (It's Voltaire's fault)
Je suis petit oiseau (I'm little bird)
C'est la faute à Rousseau (It's Rousseau's fault)
- Joie est mon caractère (Joy is my character)
C'est la faute à Voltaire (It's Voltaire's fault)
Misère est mon trousseau (Misery is my keychain)
C'est la faute à Rousseau (It's Rousseau's fault)
- Je suis tombé par terre (I fall on the ground)
C'est la faute à Voltaire (It's Voltaire's fault)
Le nez dans le ruisseau (Nose in the stream)
C'est la faute à Rousseau (It's Rousseau's fault)
Gavroche sang the "I fall on the ground" part when he was shot the first time and fell on the ground. He was a little kid.
And I wrote it in french because since Gavroche is a french character, this would make more sense if it was in french.

Making a BSD characters (without drawing bc I suck at it) based on real authors : Victor Hugo !
I NEED him in bsd. He fought for human rights, for the abolition of the death penalty, for poor people, for children who were forced to work young, for women and single moms (who were treated as h0es if their husband left them)… He stood up to the king and wasn't afraid to say it. He even asked for a painter to represent Napoleon (the king) as a fearful bird fleeing from Victor Hugo.
- Victor Hugo would join the ADA, and this is for sure. But first, he won't be a very nice person… Not necessarily in the port mafia, but probably in some things as bad. Because before being so kind and courageous, Victor Hugo was far-right, so he agreed with what Napoleon said. But he changed and he became a nicer person, and he helped many people.
- In the BSD universe, Victor changed after seeing someone dying in front of him. A little boy named Gavroche (Gavroche is a little boy in one of his books). Gavroche was singing the song "It's Voltaire's fault", before dying. It was something that changed the way Victor saw things, and he decided that no one deserved this. (This is not how the IRL Victor Hugo changed)
- He's someone very brave and courageous. He's not scared of dying or whatever.
- He will be in his twenties
- He will try to teach Kyoka and Atsushi things. Like maths, science ect. The IRL Victor Hugo wanted the education to be free, so it won't be surprising if he teaches kids that couldn't have access to school/education.
- He always hums the song Gavroche sang before he died.
- He will TOTALLY be against Mori, he will hate him for sure. He can't support these types of people.
- He will be serious and calm, but he will always have a gentle smile on his face.
- He will, randomly, buy things for the people in need (food, drink ect…)
- He will love creating little stories in his head, and he will share them with Ranpo and Yosano.
- His ability would be "Wretched" (One of his most famous books.) This will allow him to curse someone. (Because the people in this book have very very bad life. Jean Valjean, Fantine… They're not cursed, but it felt like they were.)
- He will get along with Kunikida and Fukuzawa
- Victor will remind Dazai of Oda
- He will totally be called bby by the fandom-
- His birthday is the 26th of February
-“Life is just one long loss of everything you love.”
- He will make a lot of effort to be forgiven about his past. He, himself, is ashamed of himself for what he has done.
- He's for human's right.
- He will drink coffee in the morning because he's not a morning person.
I'll think I'll do more later about other authors I want in BSD, because there are a lot of them that I want.
Anyways, bye bye

Something I love about Claude Frollo is that when Disney was writing him, they didn't want the audience to like him. It's why his character is very black and white in the movie, so to speak, than the original book by Victor Hugo. But they couldn't just get rid of his motives when it's one of the major themes of the book (religion).
Unfortunately for the writers, that's why he's one of the best written villains- because although dramatized, he's realistic. For some people, religion is incredibly important to them. and as we've seen throughout history, people make incredibly dangerous decisions on behalf of maintaining their values. Any disruption to them is distressing, making them act out. and this goes past religion. think of a time where you were in a situation where something conflicted with when of your core values- it's stressful! you really gotta reflect, and that doesn't always work out thanks to denial and rationalization.
tldr, Claude Frollo is the best Disney Villain ever because not only is he the embodiment of a bad person, you understand his motives (not as in understand and agree, but you understand WHY he does what he does). And the worst part, his thought process is a common one.
