Perhpas I'm misunderstanding this entire thing, but Loris pregnancy seems to be treated so cruely by the show in season 2. She has valid reasons of being worried about it, and a valid (though understandably problematic) reason to not tell Rick.

Yet when Rick shouts at her for not telling him, for taking the pills, for taking that choice from him...he's treated as the 'correct' side? Going as far for him to say "you threw them up you want this"...no. no that does not mean she wants this. We as viewers have just seen her have multiple on screen struggles with making the morally correct choice. we see her still struggle to make that choice seconds before swallowing them.

And I get Maggies anger at her- her hiding the pregnancy and the 'carless' sex she had almost endangered not only her but Glenns life. I get Glenn talking to her and giving her advice (but also making sure that she knows he isn't telling her what to do) because he's been forced to keep so many secrets and also risked his life. He comes to her with a respectful, friend type convosation where he urges her to tell but also understand that at the end of the day it is her choice. Beyond the shock and the pain of not knowing, Ricks reaction just screams male rage without listening to her genuine fears. Idk I just...It's so odd. It's a valid thing to get emotional over but the show seemingly agrees with Rick's side and beyond asking the question of 'what if' doesn't agree with her's like it does Ricks.

I'm sorry, but pregnancy isn't an easy thing in our normal world let alone in an apocalypse setting. Rick doesn't get a choice, it's not HIS ass whose being endangerd with 9 months of pregnancy, a childbirth in unsafe and unclean conditions, and then raising that kid. HE can leave- and he (probally?) won't but he COULD. The show treats the dicussion of her pregnancy as though it's set in our normal universe were as she treats it as a pregnancy in an apocalypse. And she is punished by both RIck and Shane for that outlook.

The store was packed with so much it was like going to walmart. “It’s clear ma, yall can come in” i made sure they came in before i went to wonder. “Don't get lost and be careful”. My mama said out loud as she went her way in the. I need to go to the feminine aisle. Pads..pads..tampo..pads! There we go, let me just grab this. “Drop it and turn around slowly”. aw shit naw “alright, can you get your gun out my face now” damn did people forget how to say hello “how many are with you” the boy asked with the sheriff hat on. “It's only three in total, can i put my arms down, this shit hurts” for real it hurts. Sure” he said and put his gun in his pants. “So how many are there with you?” I ask as I go back to grabbing my stuff “There are four of us here but there are more in the group back home, my name is Carl”. There are more of them, which means there is a big place, and we are indeed of place. “My name is Ski, I like your hat, it's cool”. It was a cool hat. “My dad gave it to me, you wanna come with me to find him” he asked me “yeah, but don't try to kill cause im not ready” i said as i caught up with him. “I'm not yet.. Just playing” I hope so.

“Can you please just drop it”. “hell no i found it first” i heard my talking to some man ma “what happened” i said as i got closer to her. “this bleach baboon of a man trying to take my can of peaches''. they fight over a can of fruit “so y'all fighting over a can of fruit? Just get another can the more '' i said trying to solve the conflict at hand. “No I don't want another can, I want that one” the man said to me. So what's the difference, they're all the same.” like for real “no i want this brand, he can get the other one” you know what this isn't my problem. “Ok y'all work this out we'll be back” i said as i started to walk off “where do you think you're going with this boy i don't even know?”. She asks me as if she forgot the whole thing that just happened. “This is Carl and we are going to find my brother” I said as I grabbed Carl's arm and pulled him with me. “So is your brother younger or older?” he asked me as we walked the aisle. “He is younger, around your age i believe…jay”. I whispered a yell to get his attention. “Come meet Carl,” I said as he made his way to us. “Carl this it jay, jay this Carl,shake hands'' I said with a smile “goody, now let’s go find our mamas.”

“We have come to an agreement” the man said as came back to the aisle. “Ok. what is it?” I said to the man with blue eyes. “Were going to split the peaches” how the hell are you going to split peaches?. “How are you going to split them if we dont leave together” makes it make sense. “Well we have a new place to stay missy” mama said as she put her hand on her hip. “That's cool and all but what is his name” no really i want to know. “The names rick grimes and your name young lady” rick said as he held his hand out. “Ski monroe”.

the kids in the walking dead are literally so much more interesting to me than the adults. (And I’m referring solely to the comics here because the show absolutely did not do any of the kids (especially Carl) justice) There’s just something about them not being fully developed people yet, because while the adults are just adapting to suit the environment, the kids are actively developing and coming into themselves in this new world. The adults like Rick, Andrea and Michonne all have years of lived experiences before the apocalypse that serve as a base layer of sorts to their characters. They are developed people, and no matter how much they adapt in the apocalypse, they will never lose that base of who they are. The kids, however, don’t have that. Their base layer is actively being formed while zombies are trying to eat them. This creates an interesting springboard for character development and the way the kids see and perceive the things happening around them, mostly because any development that happens is going to be extreme. Otherwise they die (see: Ron). This is most apparent with Carl (obviously), because he’s the main kid of the series. Moments like when he killed Ben when none of the adults would, solely because he deemed it necessary given what Ben had done are really pivotal to his character, and I think say a lot about the person he was becoming. Same with when he went after Negan, on his own. Anyways, what I’m trying to get at here is that all the kids who were directly exposed to the apocalypse are malleable. There’s an infinite number of directions their characters could take, and I relish in the possibilities. anyways that was my rant, go read the walking dead comics guys!!
