I try not to think about this for my sanity but whenever I do,, ough,,,

so its been a bit since ive been here but have we discussed the fact that in the last story sirius gets hit with ice magic (same thing that killed polaris) i think we should talk about that more

some polaris doodles + some headcanons o7 (spoilers)

-Though Beau and Polaris are not carbon copy look alikes of eachother (except for a few subtle features), they do share alot of random mannerisms, speech patterns, and even the same laugh, which drives Sirius CRAZY

-Bc though they're two different individuals, Sirius can never doubt that they share the same essence (which is canon). I feel like anyone who's spoken to og Polaris wouldn't find it obvious that they do, but they would if they actually KNEW Polaris (like Schedar and Thuban)

-So when with Sirius, Beau will accidently do / say things SO similar to Polaris that it catches Sirius off gaurd,. He'll sometimes genuinely get creeped out and will. like. need a minute.

-Polaris was genuinely a talented/inventive sorcerer who paved the way for magic to be as developed/understood as it is, and happily shared everything he ever discovered or learned with Sirius. Sirius likes to owe everything he knows to Polaris, but never mentions how he had taught Polaris tons of things too- or how they would end up discovering and inventing spells together, since Sirius is a seriously gifted sorcerer as well, but with the disaster that happened, never ended up getting the credit he should have.

-Beau shares alot of the intuitiveness that Polaris had, which Sirius notices. They were a quite a high-credited scholar back in mid-earthium who worked hard academically, and so is able to pick up on the stuff taught at Contell Academy a lot faster than anyone expects they would, (and is why Spica has such a respect for them)

also guys... this is from floor 5... do ya'll think that Arcturus was actually helping out the Void more than we thought or am I crazy 😭I can't tell if this is confirmed but my personal theory is that the void cult specifically poisoned arcturus at the banquet to put him under their influnce, and he'd then help them operate and report info about mc so that they could plan accordingly, also hence his random headaches (they never elaborate on this line again so there's really no other implication... which is crazy)

when your mc is doomed by the narrative (beau angst no one asked for 😇)

...Oh.....

do you ever think that sirius constantly blames polaris for saving him, of all people, for sacrificing his own life for sirius's sake just because he could? doesn't matter how bad, how annoying, how desperate and how clingy sirius was, he still was worth dying for.

and, after rewinding time and basically creating mc, erasing everyone's memories and silently awaiting for mc to be back eventually, because it's not finished yet, the past is still not in the past, do you ever think how truly horrible he feels, for being so egotistical, that he allowed himself to bend time, space and reality itself, for mc to basically exist and deal with the problems and mistakes that polaris made during his life time?

how sirius must hate himself for being so reckless! mc is everything he hates about himself and polaris, but he can't bring himself to truly despise and abandon them, no matter how hard he tries. he physically can't, due to the constellation contracts. he's always jealous, always so full of hatered: towards himself especially.

when in fact, we as mc owe sirius our lives. isn't that... tragically beautiful?

no matter how worthless he thinks that he is, sirius is mc's main reason why they're still alive. he is their life line. he is the one who somehow managed to save them, defying reality and everything else! nothing mattered for him, only mc's life.

it shouldn't be possible, and yet, here we both are, standing face to face. alive. breathing. not well, but we will be eventually, once this whole... debacle is finally over!

sirius doesn't truly want to die. he wants to live. but if it takes his own life for mc to live on, he wouldn't even think twice about sacrificing himself for mc's sake!

can you please for once dream about our lives together and not the end of the world, sirius?..

I've would also love to shout out how much of Arky's role of guiding us out of the Boundry can be paralleled to the greek god Hermes and what he symbolizes BUT BRO

Ok so at the end I was like NERVOUS bc there was the chance they could have MAYBE pulled off two different endings depending on whether summoner personally wanted to stay or go back to Mid Earthium- which would have been a cool opportunity that Storytaco could have pulled,, but I guesss instead they did the thing where the choices triggered the same response, but this time in the sense that the rest is left to your imagination:

*you turn around = you stay back at the Boundry with the boys (this is because if you turn around the portal magic thingy won't work)

*or you listen to arcturus = keep walking until you arrive back home (earth)

Personally I chose to turn around bc ,one, the story never really gave me TOO much reason to want to go back home- however it was back there- and two I WAS YELLING THROUGH THE SCREEN NOO I DONT TO LEAVEEE 😭😭 THE WHOLE TIME

Also the voice we hear at the end says

"Can you hear? I have a story I desperately want to tell."

And I?? Can't exactly tell what it means?..OTHER THAN A TEASER FOR MORE CONTENT?? MAYBE PONTENTIALLY?? But if it's actually obviously something else I missed please tell me 😭

Anyways end of lecture:

Pollux and vega ending arc top tier.

Arcturus hmm I wish they didn't gloss over the void arc so quickly 🤔

If they could have fitted it in there I would have loved if they had just a BIT more of a satisfying conclusion for spica and alpheratz yknow? :( just me??

And finally. I can be slow,,, so if there's anyone out there that can explain Sirius's whole spiel with polaris and everything with the time travel.,,,,,,, I really would appreciate it bc I'm still trying to understand 😭

YES!! This was absotutely done on purpose and explains his character in a neat kind of way, like how he's inherently by your side from the very beggining + it's really telling of how summoner was always intended to be polaris in some way

There's also some other cool little astronomy connections which I find cute like how the arcturus star is known for it's orange hue bc of it's temperature (hence an orange boi <3)

^^as well as this maybe being a stretch but maybe explaining his actions on the 12th floor yk 🤔

For sirius I also found out why he's so sparkly and 🌈💅✨️

FOR THE VEGA FANS LOOK I LITERALLY FIND THIS SO INTERESTING !!!!

As a hadestown fan™ I made this connection a while ago but I didn't how much his story line was inspired until I found this

....The connection that vega has to the summoner through their past as childhood friends was inspired by the greek mythological story of Orpheus and Eurydice

(((In lots of other iterations of this story, orpheus turns around not because of a simple misunderstanding but more for his inherit axiety in leaving behind his loved one! Example below!)))

Since we know now that the summoner had turned around as a reaction to Vega's hand slipping (and therfore vega staying back at Boundry) THIS POOR MAN IS BERIEVED WITH GUILT AND CONFUSSION!! HIS FEELINGS OF BEING ABANDONED ARE BACKFIRING ON HIM SOMEONE GIVE HIM A HUG!!
