i think the title is pretty self explanitory
Only ghost files on it atm but Mystery Files and Puppet History are next. Watcher has back pedalled on deleteing all their free content to lock it behind a pay wall but y'know what? maybe I just dont want to give them ad revenue anymore, which is evil but screw them. Also they may still back pedal on their back pedalling, which is to many pedals anyways.
I have full intentions to try and watch the shows but I just never had time, and now I genuinely can't. Like I feel the same and want to watch to see if I can get into it but...
I am actually fine with watcher leaving YouTube. I was an Unsolved watcher myself, particularly enjoyed True Crime (yeah judge me, we all have guilty pleasures). Once they left buzzfeed I understood, but the stuff over at watcher has never been the same to me.
Ghost files and Mystery files are fine, but obviously not the same. Which is understandable, they tried to stop being âthe guys from buzzfeed unsolvedâ and be âwatcherâ instead. Good for them!
Mystery files just never gave me the same enjoyment Unsolved did, it honestly doesnât seem like a fully baked concept to me. I canât rly explain it, since they did follow the old unsolved concept. (Also found it funny how Ryan pretended to have come up with a great new idea when mystery files started airing but thatâs another story)
Ghost files is good, but as mentioned, Unsolved Supernatural was always the âuglier siblingâ to me.
Puppet history is nice, however I always found myself watching it only when I couldnât find anything else. I understand ppl loOoOove the professor, thatâs great, just not rly my cup of tea.
All the other shows I could never get into. Watched an occasional ep of âToo many spiritsâ, âare you scared?â I never understood. Their other shows never enticed me. All that led to me never even subscribing as I have recently noticed oops.
All in all, I think the paywall was a stupid stupid decision, that might not make them more money in the long run. Hope they get the âartistic freedomâ they expect from this change. Iâm glad to be rewatching old Unsolved eps from time to time, since thatâs something I was doing already anyway.
Bye watcher, Iâd lie if I said Iâll rly miss you.
Watcher fandom really is on fire right now, and not in the good way.
Me thinks the professor might still be possessed...
Professor McNasty from Puppet History and Asmodeus from Obey Me. I couldn't resist.
i dont understand why watcher didnât move forward with channel members like smosh did⌠confusing me. i cant pay $5 for the 2 shows i watch from their channel(puppet history and mystery/ghost files)
peets (puppet feet)
Justice for the Professor's little hat
Oh hey! A brand new Watcher episode!
Ah crap, an ad.
Wait, what's that?
SHANE!!!!
I have to give props to the boys for seeing their mistake and almost immediately fixing it, but itâs also hilarious that this how they learned poor people do in fact exist.
Steven Lim probably isnât the mastermind behind this whole shitty ordeal, but they absolutely should NOT have advertised his expensive ass eating show before that fuckass announcement and he shouldnât have made that tone deaf comment saying âeveryone can afford itâ.
