I have this idea for a fun MadaTobi time travel fic where Madara and Tobirama accidentally go back in time to before Konoha was founded, this is in an everything is good world where Izuna didn’t die and the whole thing was just an accident. They end up at a point where Madara and Hashirama are, like, 16 and Tobirama and Izuna are 12. So Madara and Tobirama have had basically no interaction at this point, and then suddenly these adult versions of them show up bickering like an old married couple and clearly pining after each other. They also know way too much about each other, it’s freaking out their clans because you get to know people in a completely different way when you live in the same village and work together every day than when you have bordering territories and only really see each other during skirmishes. Tobirama complains about Madara’s sleeping habits and references having tea with other members of the Uchiha clan; Madara has a lot to say about Tobiramas’s work habits and insane experiments, he’s also obsessed with this one Senju bakers sweet rolls or something. Little stuff like that that just completely blindsided their clans. Maybe Hikaku and Touka are there too to make snide comments and just gleefully watch their respective clan heads (Hashirama would have given up the title to his brother in order to become Hokage) drive everyone around them insane while dealing sexual tension that freaks out teenage Madara and kicks the Senju clan into overprotective high gear (because again, 12). I don’t know, I just foresee a lot of comedy potential for someone who is a way better writer than I am.
Guess who found a new rare-pair! (Save me)
Idk how exactly i came to love this ship, but I knew I love Hinata, I love TobiMada, and I love Hinata being loved, and protected (especially by powerful characters👀) so I'm accepting my fate atp🥲✌️
Hashirama: *look of dawning horror* wait. You brought a child to the battle?
Madara: yes? Only as a lookout, though. I know your clan, under your orders, is honorable enough not to kill a child. He’s safe.
Hashirama: you misunderstand. *whips around to Touka* TOUKA. WHERE THE FUCK IS MY BROTHER
Madara: what???
Tobirama: *sees child*
Tobirama: *calmly, in a regular even voice* who brought the child?
Hashirama: fuck, he scares me
Tobirama: *picks up kid*
Touka: double fuck
Madara: what is going on?? Why are you freaking out??? Why is the white demon holding my cousin?!?!
Tobirama: ah, he’s your cousin? *hits Madara over the head* well, he’s mine now. No take backs. *leaves with the kid*
Madara:
Hashirama:
Izuna: what the fuck just happened
Touka: Tobi has an adoption problem.
Ok so. Fic where Madara finds out Tobirama is into floral design.
He's the senju clan heir and his brother is the mokuton user, he knows all the flower meanings. He couldn't kill a plant if he tried.
So Madara finds him in his little flower garden room in his house, and tries to make fun of him at first bc floral design is a "womans hobby." And Tobirama just kind of dead eyed stares at him till Madara gets awkward and clears his throat and then tries to insist "oh but of course you uhh. Have other motives for this hobby Im sure."
Tobirama just kinda turns back to his pretty flowers and goes "no actually, this is purely for fun for me. I need something to relax."
and Madara, now suspicious and also very sure in the fact that theres no WAY this guy knows how to relax, is kinda "uhuh. sure. So what, the flowers are poisonous or something?"
Tobirama ignores him.
Over the next few days, Madara begins to spiral as he tries to figure out why exactly Tobirama has this garden bc he can NOT just grow and arrange flowers for fun. Impossible. Madara refuses to believe it.
Tobirama begins to show up to the tower with flowers in his hair. Madara is convinced he's being mocked. (He is.)
Madara breaks into Tobirama's house to steal a flower to check if its poisonous or maybe has medical properties or smthn. He researches flower meanings to know if maybe theres a code hidden in the flowers being grown. He goes as far as to research Senju religion bc maybe they have some sort of religious meaning then???
He can't just be growing them to grow them! The Senju is allergic to doing anything purely for relaxing or fun!
But the flowers come back as non poisonous and the meanings come back as ultimately nothing/irrelevant and the religious imagery is nonexistant
Madara slams his hands on Tobirama's desk and hisses that he's on to him. As Tobirama continues to stare at him blankly and go "you seem oddly invested in my 'womans hobby.' Perhaps you're interested in a arranging some flowers of your own?"
(......the flowers were poisonous. This is Tobirama's poison garden, he switched the flowers out when he knew Madara would start stealing them to look into. He would have fessed up but the womans hobby thing pissed him off, and then Madara continued to make such a fool of himself ab it he just committed.)
He really is allergic to doing anything for pure fun/relaxing, there must always be some sort of underlying purpose.
Some MadaTobi for the soul
I love this fic
“Then let’s make a deal,” Tobirama said “You participate in the games, and I don’t take your brother to the underworld until the day after they’re done.”
Madara was still staring at the god, mouth agape.
On Ao3
Tobirama was pissed. His older brother's whining coupled with Kawarama and Itama's tries at cheering him up were grating on his nerves, as well as the thought that for once he had trusted Hashirama to not put himself in trouble if left to his own devices and he had been wrong…
But what he really couldn't stand was the memory of their father's face, impassible yet impossibly smug when, looking up to the mortal realm, he saw Hashirama's champion for the games.
The games. The idiotic games that saw the faithful to the God of Nature, his older brother, face against the faithful of the God of Death, his father. The humans seemed to believe that athletic pursuits were the best way to honor the conflict that saw the God of Nature dethrone his father and relegate him in the afterworld, thus gaining the title as God of the Gods. No god has ever divined why they thought that. In the Heavenly Planes every occurrence was sheer chaos and Tobirama, as the Messenger God Hiraishin, got the dubious honor of carrying the progressively more aggressive messages exchanged between his father and his brother, both banned from each other's realms.
But maybe that excruciatingly taxing ordeal had been yet another way devised by Fate for making him pay for being the one to trick his own father into his downfall. Because the one time he lets the two of them talk directly, his idiot older brother makes a bet: whoever wins the games gets a favor from the other. Which means their father could ask for anything, were he to win, Tobirama had pissedly pointed out when the idiot had told him. But Hashirama had laughed it off, because "Don't worry, my dear brother, my current champion is the strongest I've ever had, a man of honor who prays truly and yet doesn't rely on my benevolence. He’s hearty as an ox and strong as a lion. All in all, a great man!".
A great man, for sure, but one that is nowhere to be seen! thought Tobirama angrily while watching the substitute, a youngster who was hardly exceptional in any way, get ready for the games that were to start in the morning.
"I'm so sorry, little brothers!" cried Hashirama, now completely trapped in one of his gloomy moods. "I was so sure he'd come, he's always been so diligent about his religious duties..!"
"That's not the point!" Tobirama barked back, pulled from his observations of the lands below. "He's a human. Humans die with a whiff of wind, with nothing really! They're totally unreliable to us gods!"
"But he's not dead! Right?"
His older brother does him the favor of shutting it when Tobirama glares at him. But Hashirama does have a point, he thinks, turning his attention back on the humans. Tobirama had checked on the champion, Madara, in the days following the bet, and he was sure that the man's soul hadn't been carted to the underworld as he, the Psychopomp God Hiraishin, was the one who escorted the souls of the dead. And he had looked out for it, for Madara's soul, because he had totally been ready to cheat to make sure their father didn't win, because that would be a disaster. He could ask for anything and Hashirama was bound to do it. All they had fought for in their war against their father, all they'd lost; all Tobirama had sacrificed - his old domains, with the waters and the wars and the thunder that still remains in his namesake, and his honor, because since the war he has become Hiraishin, the Liar God. All in vain, lost in less than half an eon.
And all his work in preventing the man’s death had been for nothing too, apparently, because Hashirama's oh so dutiful, unbeatable champion had disappeared without dying. But not on Tobirama's watch. The games began at dawn and the sun had just set: that was plenty of time for him to try a little trick or twenty.
His mind made up, Tobirama left the view on the human realm and moved to leave.
"Whatever, I'll take care of this mess," he said as a goodbye. All of his brothers, even Hashirama, suddenly looked at him in alarm. Itama opened his mouth, face set as if to try and talk some sense into him, while Kawarama jumped up after him to physically catch him, but he evaded them both with ease. He was, after all, Hiraishin, the Fastest God.
In the seconds it took Tobirama to leave the Heavenly Planes he already had a thousand plans vorticating in his mind, but he settled on one just as fast.
It's night. Humans naturally sleep at night. Tobirama, as the Messenger God, was also the one who brought humans the dreams the God of Sleep paints for them. And he highly doubted that anyone would resent him if, for this once, he hijacked one to talk some sense in the traitorous champion.
So he waited, checking the innumerable dreams that passed through his hands until finally the right spark caught his attention. It was the middle of the night already, way later than the usual time mortals allowed themselves to sleep, so Tobirama didn’t hesitate to follow the dream to its intended recipient at top speed.
He barged in a bedroom, neither small nor particularly spacious, lighted by a single candle’s flame that made the shadows shift and jump and bathed the space in a soft warm light. Two men occupied the room: one was sleeping in the only bed, while the other was sitting on the floor with his head lying awkwardly on the edge of the mattress, face scowling in his repose as if offended by how sleep had taken him by surprise.
That one was Tobirama’s target. Scowling himself, Tobirama caught the spark of dream between his thumb and index finger and flicked it at the man’s face.
Immediately, Madara began waking, lifting his head as he tried and failed to keep his eyes open when faced with the silver light Tobirama knew mortals saw him emanate. When the errant champions finally got accustomed to the brightness, his eyes settled first on the wings on Tobirama’s sandals, floating on a level with his gaze, and then shot to the god’s face as the man blanched visibly.
“No,” Madara whispered, wide eyes full of terror. Tobirama refrained from narrowing his eyes just barely, because while he’s not known to be particularly benevolent, Hiraishin isn’t known as malignant either, so that reaction was definitely out of proportion. He waited in severe silence as the champion glanced at the bed and then shifted in a bow, joining his hands together in prayer.
“Please, it’s too soon,” the man begged desperately. “Nature temple’s priest said he still has at least two days to live, and she’s praying for his health at this very moment. Please wait. It’s still too soon. Please…”
Now that he was paying attention, Tobirama easily noticed that the room was pervaded by the phantom of violence and illness, emanating from the other mortal. Tobirama took in his wounded side and mauled eyes under carefully applied bandages, as pieces of the puzzle began clicking together in his mind.
“I see,” he answered evenly. “He was attacked, right? Why?”
“I don’t know,” Madara growled, voice full of grief and barely concealed anger. “The attackers arrived at the market the day before yesterday. They didn’t speak to anyone and didn’t buy anything. Then they attacked my brother without cause and ran, and their corpses were found a couple hours later just outside the city. Nobody recognized them, least of all Izuna.”
“And how did they die?” Tobirama asked, already knowing the answer, but preferring to be throughout.
“The healers don’t know, but there were no wounds on their body.”
Tobirama ummed, tilting his head to the side. Honestly it wasn’t a surprise that Father would move to make sure that he won the bet - Tobirama had learned how to behave underhandedly somewhere after all. However, he would have expected something less straightforward than this, and also better executed, though he had manage to pass under all of their notice.
Tobirama reached for the sleeping man, intent on checking the injuries himself even if he wasn’t much of a medic, but Madara’s hand caught his wrist before he could touch him.
“Please, he’s dearly beloved by everyone, and so kind. Don’t take him yet,” the insolent mortal begged. His fear of angering a god was obvious in the way his face had lost all color, but the grip on Tobirama’s wrist remained strong and his black eyes held a desperate determination that showed that he would fight, even knowing that he’d lose, if it meant giving his brother a chance.
“If you don’t want both your brother and yourself to become pitiful mortal pulp you will unhand me right now,” Tobirama commanded. Madara held on for a few more moments before freeing the god to capture Izuna’s hand instead.
Tobirama studied this unusual mortal as he stared back with lucid but burning eyes. Stocky but not ungraceful, obviously strong, imposing, with a handsome mane of black hair and healthy skin. He was past the age of beauty that gods maintained for their whole existence, but more entertaining because of it, with laugh lines and a wrinkle between well-defined eyebrows. In one word, interesting.
“You’re right,” he finally said, “now is not his time, but soon it will be.”
Madara tried to answer, but Tobirama caught his chin with one hand, stunning him into silence before he could respond unwisely.
“You stepped down from champion for the games because you want to be at your brother’s side for his last hours, is that correct?” he asked.
Madara nodded, his head bobbing in Tobirama’s hand.
“Then let’s make a deal,” he continued. “You participate in the games, and I don’t take your brother to the underworld until the day after they’re done. If you lose, you gain him a couple more days to live, but if you win, I’ll heal him to the best of my ability and make sure that he survives his wounds.”
Madara was still staring at him, mouth agape.
“Why are you offering me this?” he asked, voice a broken whisper.
“Don’t concern yourself with the motives of gods,” Tobirama answered, wiping away the first tear of relief falling from Madara’s beautiful eyes. “Do you accept my offer, then?”
“Yes,” he breathed, and this time when he gripped Tobirama’s wrists the god didn’t reprimand him.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you…” Madara repeated and then, with renewed fire in his eyes wet with tears, he kissed the palm of Tobirama’s hand still holding his face.
Well, far be it from me to turn down such a show of gratitude, Tobirama thought and crouched down for a kiss of his own.
“It’s not fair..!” Hashirama cried after the games, watching the mortal world from the Heavenly Planes. “I am the god of medicine!”
“Stop whining, brother!” Tobirama snapped half-heartedly, while Itama and Kawarama both snickered at their brother’s antics.
“No! You have so many domains already, but I only have two. Why did you have to steal it?”
“Technically life and nature count as different domains, so you actually have three,” Itama popped in, always the mediator. “Also, Tobirama only gained jurisdiction on recovering from wounds, so you still have power over healing from illness and such.”
“Yeah, brother, you only have to share!” Kawarama teased, and then cackled at Hashirama’s resulting whine.
“But why-”
“Well maybe this time you will finally learn,” Tobirama cut in, talking over his idiot older brother useless grumbles, “ and never, ever gamble again, brother.”
“But I-” Hashirama began to say before Tobirama cut him off again.
“I don’t want to hear it!” Tobirama roared. “Your luck is abysmal! When you bet, you lose, and even when you miraculously win a bet, you manage to lose something else still! Be glad that I only took part of your domain and learn your lesson.”
Hashirama sulked, pouting in a way unbecoming for gods, let alone their king.“...you also stole my champion,” he added with a defeated grumble.
Tobirama smiled smugly at that, remembering Madara’s gratitude on the night they met, as well at their own private celebration after the man had won the games and Tobirama had healed Izuna. Truly strong as a lion and hearty as an ox, Tobirama had to give his brother that.
“I didn’t steal him,” he said nonchalantly, “he came to me all on his own. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a mortal to meet.”
He left, surrounded by his brothers’ spluttering.

I'm rebloging this because I'm affraid I won't find this later when ao3 starts working again
"The Great Tobirama Senju, as astute as ever." Madara said, sounding bitter, and so very, very tired. "Well, what about you? You loathed me as well, I recall. What changed there?" A hollow laugh. "Or are you simply lulling me into a false sense of security, waiting for the chance to strike me down when my back's turned?"
Tobirama shook his head in denial, feeling a spike of panic at the Uchiha’s paranoid words. It was dizzying, but he sat steady and said forcefully, "No - no, I don't hate you. I never did, really. I was… suspicious of you -" jealous for taking his brother away from him- " but I never actually hated you."
BORUTO & NARUTO
So I am now currently watching Boruto and I have to say It's not that bad.
But don't get me wrong. Naruto is still far more enjoyable anime than Boruto. (for me of course).
Boruto series has a really good characters and the best for me are : Mitsuki, Shikadai, Himawari, Konohamaru and Boruto (and yes Boruto is sometimes acting like a brat, but I cherish him anyway) ❤️
I want to apologise to Sarada fans, but I don't like her that much, but that also doesn't mean that I hate her. No. I just can't find the way to her character.
And the old generation of Naruto: I love every single one of them.
Their journey was always inspiring to me and through out the series I laughed with them and cried for them. (seriously Naruto is the first anime that made me cry more then 5 times and I do not cry much)
.............. Let's talk about the ships...........
Ok so I don't ship hetero pairs, but I also don't mind or judge people who do.
Naruto series: Sasunaru (how unpredictable)
Kakairu
Kakaobi (their history and friendship was so sad, that every time I see those scenes my eyes are automatically wet)
Madatobi
Hashimada
Sakuino
Sakuhina
Shikaneji (I really adore this ship even if it's not that famous)
Izutobi
Madaobi (they were alone together for some time in that cave..... You know?)
Hidashika (OK I know this ship is toxic as fuck, but you know I love these kinds of relationships)
Itashisu (and anothet tragic love story, like almost every single one in this show)
Itasasu (I know this is the part where some of you will be horrified, but I don't really care that they are brothers. It's the creators fault that they are so pretty together and my sick gay ass is constantly thinking about them fucking each other)
Indraashu (another incest. I'm sorry. Wait. No. Not. Really.)
Hashitobi (wow and another one)
Boruto series: Mitsuboru (this is my favourite ship from this show so far and it's practically Canon. You can't tell me otherwise. Boruto is just following in his father's footsteps.)
Sekiemitsu ( I don't know the name for this ship so I made my own, if someone know the actual name of it, please write it down)
And that's the end.
Uff I hope you will forgive me for my a little bit poor English, because I'm not a national speaker. 😂❤️🌈
Recently, I realized that this fossil aka my first madatobi one-shot had a few more kudos than I thought… so I scrambled to revamp and flesh this out into something a bit less cringy and more similar to my current style of writing.

Breaking my fandom hiatus to post my entry for @madatobiweek2022
Oh boy, it’s been so long. The new MadaTobi week reminded me of my entry for the one in 2020.
I still have all my notes, drafts, timeline and everything for this story. Actually, I just found 11 finished pages in word and 4 pages of notes for chapter 4, huh.
Maybe I’ll continue it in the near future.

Chapter 01: Something new
Madara startled awake with a curse on his lips when a cheering Hashirama‘s elbow hit the pillow his head had been resting upon but momentarily got distracted by a female speaker announcement.
“—and gentleman, as we start our descent, please make sure your seat backs and tray tables are in their full upright position and your seatbelt is securely fastened—”
Ah, apparently it was time for their airplane to land. And surely, looking out of the window confirmed it as no clouds were greeting him. Instead, the ground was rapidly closing in on them.
Turning his head away from the window, he threw Mito—who was sitting on Hashirama‘s right— a tired but bemused look that she promptly returned when her husband started making quiet hooting noises at the bumpy arrival at their destination.

Though as soon as Madara looked up from the yet unsigned form in his hand and saw the Senju, his hand paused mid-movement.
“You're sick.”
Tobirama’s flushed face looked strained and had a light sheen of sweat. He was wrapped in an oversized, worn haori that he likely had snatched from Hashirama when the latter had been distracted.
At least judging by the size and unflattering colour choice. Vomit green and pale yellow. Really?
(Or: Overworked Tobirama is sick and unfortunately Madara gets roped into taking care of him by Izuna. Only to then realize that he may have slightly misjudged the younger Senju.)

Thank you lots for sending one in! 💙
I am so sorry for making you wait but as you know my health went downhill. As thanks for waiting and a sort of apology, I made the draft snippet a bit longer.
(MadaTobi, Modern AU) snippet of my unfinished draft, link to the story will be in next post)
The albino cracked a helpless smile at his uncharacteristically silly thought. This whole crush affair had been making him have weird trains of thought for quite some time now.
Well, speaking of investigations, his own this morning had also revealed that he had to share a room and much worse, even a bed with said detective after both of the men had lost a poll his Anija had come up with that he couldn’t even recollect partaking in.
Fantastic.
It wasn’t really that he hated the idea of sharing a room with the man in itself or anything akin to that. Much the opposite actually if he were to be completely honest.
Tobirama had even felt hesitantly hopeful when his Anija had suggested—or rather begged him—to agree to randomly decide who would share a room. Had even hoped that the odds would be on his side so that he could share a room with the older Uchiha.
But that had been when he still had believed that the two rooms up for selection provided two single beds each. There hadn’t been any information about one of them being a double bed or he wouldn’t have agreed to the poll in the first place.
Was Hashirama trying to push him to an early death?
His siblings all knew of his feelings, after all. And had been exposed to the revelation not too recently either. It had been quite a while ago when he surprisingly had realized that getting closer to the older Uchiha was something he actually was interested in.
Feelings were a difficult subject to successfully tackle for the albino and it had taken him a few years and a lot of probing talks with his best friend but at some point he had finally realized that his weird fixation with the older Uchiha had been due to romantic feelings. Feelings he had not been able to interpret without Izuna’s help.
Izuna, his favourite, slash best bet for an ally when the machinations of inter-human behaviour and relationships reached a point where they only left him confused. Understanding all the nuances and meanings in communication was often rather difficult for him, unfortunately, and siblings loved to tease each other, while asking his then yet not sister-in-law had been simply too embarrassing.
At first, the younger Uchiha had not been thrilled about his revelation of love but after some time his best friend had been able to make peace with the thought and had supported him—still was. Which the albino was grateful for because knowing why he had felt terrible and moody whenever the older Uchiha had brought over another new romantic partner to introduce to Mito and Hashirama had not made it any easier for him. Not at all, no.
Logically speaking, he had been well aware that their age gap and his rather late start into puberty had not helped in making the older Uchiha see him in a more romantic context but apparently his heart had not been capable to understand that little fact—or well, that had been what Izuna had tried to explain to him back then. The head and heart did not always agree on matters and only because one understood something on a logical level did not automatically mean that the feelings would follow suit without any hiccups.
Fortunately, they all were adults now and the age gap didn’t have as much weight nor meaning anymore; he too had grown into his body years ago. While there had been a point when Madara and even Izuna had been taller than him, thankfully he had long since passed his best friend and even grown an inch or so taller than the older Uchiha himself.
Plus, Madara had been single for quite some time now and thus sharing a room and getting to know each other better had sounded like a good plan of actions.
At least, in theory.
Unfortunately, the reality apparently revealed the opposite. After all, being shaken awake by the Uchiha falling out of bed—that was his educated guess at least—because he wanted to get away from him as soon as possible did not bode well for the supposed desire to get to know each other, did it?
He sighed for the nth time.
Of course, one could now make educated guesses as to which of the many possible reasons had been the older man’s motivation to flee.
Had it been because the albino had freed himself of his pants? Maybe the idea to share a bed so intimately with Hashirama’s little brother had been too off-putting? Or maybe the albino had come too close? Or—
His phone vibrated next to his leg and he picked it up to look at the screen.
Did you get any??? Tobirama scowled at the message Kawarama had just sent him in confusion before his phone vibrated again. You’ll never believe what just happened! I accidentally sent the exact same thing to Madara LOL
The albino’s eyes widened and he quickly unlocked the phone before his fingers started typing. What? Explain! Just as he sent off the message, he suddenly heard the door to the room click open.
Oh no
Apparently Madara was back and he hadn’t even started getting ready yet.
He looked down at the sleep mussed blanket and disheveled shirt covering him, glasses riding down his nose with the movement.

👀
Thank you for sending one in 💙 I hope this is fine
(snippet of my unfinished draft, Izuna POV, link to the story will be in next post)
“Tobirama?”
Finally, that resulted in a reaction, as the taller of the two startled and rasped out something that sounded like a hum before he tried to shakily stand up.
Promptly the Senju’s legs gave out and Izuna awkwardly made a grab for the other’s midriff, as he still had been kneeling down below; the brunt of the force hitting him square in the face, cracking his neck painfully in the process.
“Shit, gotcha,” the Uchiha grunted out after the Senju’s weight collided into him and he attempted to hold up the body to the best of his abilities. “Come on, I’ll help you back.”
However, Tobirama tried to weakly set himself free, his struggles setting off more body shaking coughs until he was too exhausted to hold himself up any longer, slumping into him even more than before, if that was possible.
Throughout that ordeal Izuna had tightened his grip with a helpless sigh through his nose and steadied his footing as to not fall over.
It was clear that the albino had other things in mind than to go back to the room he had woken up in but Izuna couldn’t let him, not like this.
“I need to go home,” the white haired male rasped out faintly amongst his unrelenting panting.
Izuna sighed more deeply, already feeling drained.
“I know and believe me, when I say that I only brought you here because I had no other choice,” he explained and grimaced in guilt at the almost kicked puppy look the other was sending him, most probably unbeknownst to himself.
Unfortunately, Tobirama persisted and reinvigorated his fruitless struggles.
“I have to get back to work,” his friend demanded next.
“That’s taken care of for now,” Izuna huffed out as the unbelieving Senju continued his tugging with renewed vigor. “You worry too much.”
Unfortunately, his words had no positive effect whatsoever.
The albino must’ve been seriously desperate. Normally the white haired male was much better at realistically assessing situations and whether it made sense to persist or not.
Izuna scowled.
“Stop it, you’re in no condition to go anywhere. Let me help you back inside—damn it—you can’t even stand on your own,” the Uchiha Heir grumbled out in exasperation, worry rising just as fast as his patience was running out.
Geez, could someone please remind him why he had befriended such a blockhead again? It was unfortunate but his family was already overflowing with that type of character trait and now he even chose such a person as his best friend as well.
He rolled his eyes.
Well, it seemed like he would never learn, would he?
The Uchiha suppressed an agonized groan.
To be honest, he had never seen Tobirama in such a sick state and didn’t know how long he would protest. If he was unlucky, they’d be stuck here forever. He could be a real stubborn ass, after all, Izuna thought mostly annoyed.
Maybe a teeny bit fondly, too.
Nobody had to know, though.
When his friend’s almost hopeful and determined face fell as if reading his previous thoughts on the matter, Izuna knew he had won their blessedly short, little struggle. And usually, he would have been happy to have been victorious against the other male in anything but this time he just felt increasingly bad, maybe guilty even.
Of course, he hadn’t anticipated for Madara to have acted as if he didn’t hate or even liked the Senju. But this? He had hoped that his older brother would have kept it together because of the worrying severity of the albino’s illness at the very least.
But that little spectacle a few minutes ago hadn’t been much different than his usual behaviour at the office when Tobirama was actually feeling well enough to stand his ground.
He heaved another sigh.
If this continued, he’d start to feel like one of the always sighing heroines in those romance novels Naori liked to read after she put Kagami to sleep.

At last, the door opened after his fourth, very annoyed attempt.
“Hashirama! Who lets their supposed best friend wait this long outside in those freezing temp—“ He startled and threw the sleepily scrunched up, very pale face which greeted him a thoroughly confused look. “You’re not Hashirama.”
“Clearly,” the albino yawned out in amusement as he leaned against the half open door, only to squint at the lights outside on the porch with a scowl.
If Madara weren’t in such distress, he might’ve found it cute even.

What a child, he thought fondly as he acknowledged a warm feeling making its way through his body. Though such mushy thoughts were only allowed in the privacy of his mind and were never to be discussed out loud or lest he got made fun of by Izuna or his other siblings.
Looking at his best friend, he sometimes wished he had half as much, well, or maybe only a third of his positivity. At least on his good days.
Though, on second thought, it sounded rather exhausting.
Maybe his slightly more realistic approach to life wasn‘t so bad after all, he mused as said best friend turned around to him with a beaming smile, not even having noticed that he had been the cause of his interrupted sleep in his glee. Returning a sleepy smile, he realized that Hashirama probably was positive enough for both of them. Or rather both of their close families, if he were to be honest.
It still amused him to this day that no sane person would expect this child of a man to be a renowned paediatrician but sometimes people were apparently wrong. Very wrong.
Because jokes aside, fortunately, Hashirama indeed could be serious when his patients and their parents trusted him with the children’s life. And doing so, he tended to them with unmatched enthusiasm and passion.
So all was good, he guessed.
Stretching his stiff muscles through a yawn, he noticed familiar tresses of long, dark hair sticking out from between the gap in the seats in front of him. Zeroing in on it with a wry smile tugging at the corners of his lips, he nimbly stuck his hand through the gap to pull one of the bigger chunks of hair, only to immediately receive a satisfyingly high pitched yelp.
“OUCH! You ass!” Izuna screeched turning his head back around to him and hastily reclaimed all of his hair with a scowl, making Madara huff in amusement.
“Oh please, stop being such a drama quee-” the older of the two started retorting when suddenly his younger brother turned around in his seat somewhat—seatbelt still fastened, making the endeavour pretty awkward looking as he smushed his face between the backrests to make a grab for Madara’s own hair.
“No!” he groused out, leaning away from the squiggly hand. “Stop!”
“Payback‘s a bitch, Nii-san!” the younger Uchiha snarked back, voice muffled by the seat and continued to make grabs for his hair that Madara defended by slapping his grabby hands away.
“Children, please,” Mito‘s exasperated voice suddenly broke through their argument, making both of them stop—Madara crossing his arms while Izuna turned back around and untangled himself from the space between the two seats, arm almost getting stuck in the process.
“I‘m not a child, he is!” Izuna grumbled out as he was facing the right way again, missing the red head‘s amused but quiet laugh.
Wondering why the biggest child of them all hadn‘t joined them in their squabbling and actually kept quiet for once, the Uchiha looked back at Hashirama, noticing that he too had an arm moving, but in the right gap between the seats in front of himself. The Uchiha made a confused sound and nudged the taller man who then looked at him with a questioning smile.
“What are you doing?”
“Trying to wake up Tobi and Itama, I saw them asleep when I left for the bathroom a few minutes ago,” the brunette answered with a sunny smile as the Uchiha hummed in acknowledgement as people around them started to get their luggage from the overhead stowage spaces to leave the plane.
Finally exiting the airport‘s sliding doors with their heavy luggage to walk into a metaphorical wall of humidity as the sun tried to roast them alive only made Madara close his eyes in misery. The heat was so much worse than he had anticipated.
Great
To be completely honest, he hadn‘t even wanted to come here in the first place, would have instead preferred a milder, more enjoyable weather for his long-awaited vacation but unfortunately, he had lost in the poll their two families had held to determine what this trip‘s destination would be as everyone except Itama and him had voted for this dreaded hot climate as their travel destination.
Surprisingly even Tobirama—currently dressed in long pants with a long-sleeved sweatshirt‘s hood and a pair of sunglasses covering his face—had wanted to come here.
Whatever, he would make the best of this holiday.
As it was, unfortunately, not all of their siblings had been able to come with them due to scheduling difficulties. However, they had already agreed on another trip in winter when hopefully their schedules would align a bit more smoothly with much more desirable weather, at least for him.
He already looked forward to it.
Something he could live without though, was the planning and scheduling part as arranging things for the six of them had been a logistical nightmare already. What with Itama having to hand his last thesis in the day before while Izuna and Tobirama respectively had to write their exams a few hours before their flight took off.
He himself probably wouldn’t even have been able to take time off on such short notice if his position at work as detective hadn‘t been so high and he himself and his good reputation hadn’t been so well regarded amongst their ranks and—no, he was joking. In reality he still had a few open favours with his boss and promptly used one of them to be able to be here with his family and friends when Hashirama had texted him the booking confirmation.
His boss obviously hadn‘t been too happy. But after Madara had helped out countless of times, sacrificing his free time again and again when needed, raked in so many extra hours, that he had accumulated a lot of those favours. And just to be on the safe side, had tied all loose ends at work in preparation which thankfully had swayed the man to agree in the end.
The Uchiha briefly wondered how Obito and his fellow colleagues were doing before Izuna chatting him up caught his attention.
Next thing he knew, they were leaving their rented cars parked outside an Italian restaurant and taking their seats around a big but crammed table as Hashirama had rejected the friendly personnel’s offer to push two tables together because apparently he wanted to cuddle in this inhumane heat or who knew why tree brain hadn‘t wanted the second table because Madara for sure didn‘t.
Smushed between Izuna and Hashirama, he could already feel the sweat run down his back as he pushed his sunglasses atop his head, tangling up a few strands of hair that he couldn’t care less about at the moment in the process.
“Get anything you want, it‘s on me to celebrate the end of the semester for our three youngest and of course, the start of our amazing holidays together!“ his best friend exclaimed when everyone had received their beverages and toasted all of them, resulting in clinking of glass and various intonations of gratitude amongst them.
After Madara downed his glass in one go and lowered it back on the table with a loud clink, he rummaged through his pockets to find a godforsaken hair tie. His hair was already uncomfortably sticking to the back of his neck. Frowning, he gave up when he came up empty.
Hashirama probably didn‘t have one on hand, as he only tied it for work and Mito used hair pins, which left him with only Izuna who was typing away on one of his social media accounts. Leaning over, he saw a snapshot out of the airplane window.
“Pretty picture.”
Izuna immediately shot him a dubious look.
“Okay. What do you want?” his younger brother asked with an expectant look on his face.
“Can‘t I compliment you without wanting anything?” he asked bemused.
“Oh please,” the other huffed out.
“Alright, whatever. Do you have a hair tie?”
Izuna took a terribly amused look at his horribly mussed up hair. The stupid humidity wasn‘t doing the older Uchiha any favours, making his usually wild hair poof up and stick out in an even crazier mess than usual. He was well aware but the brat didn‘t even try to stifle his derisive snort.
“Yes, but know that this will cost you a third of your dessert,” the little shit haughtily replied as he took a tie out of a bag between them.
“A fifth and you have yourself a deal,” Madara huffed, holding his hand out.
“A fourth and you have to order something I actually like,” Izuna countered, holding out the desired hair tie just out of reach.
“Deal,” he heaved out with a heavy sigh, accepting the cargo and tying up his hair into a messy ponytail, immediate relief flooding him, as the slightly less warm air of the ceiling fan caressed the back of his neck. Much better.
Madara shot his greedy brother and his mostly immaculate hair an annoyed look, when the other happily turned back to continue typing away on his smartphone.
He would need to steal whatever the little shit had used to wrestle his own mane into submission out of his luggage and use it on his hair tomorrow when the other inevitably would still be snoozing away the morning, since he liked to sleep in.
They had the same hair structure, after all, but he wasn‘t willing to pay the unreasonably high price his sibling surely would come up with as soon as he asked him about the product he must‘ve been using to tame their family brand of crazy hair.
Under no circumstances would he walk around like some caveman after today, though.
Right now everyone was still tired and mussed up from their flight, even elegant Mito, so his crazier than usual hair wouldn‘t be noticed too badly.
But starting tomorrow, that excuse wouldn‘t fly anymore, as everyone would attempt to look presentable for the undoubtedly many pictures Hashirama and Izuna would take in the span of their holidays. And seriously, latter didn‘t need even more blackmailing material, as he already had more than enough of that stowed away already.
But more importantly, tomorrow Tobirama wouldn‘t be so exhausted anymore that his head would look like it was ready to loll onto the table.
Seriously, the poor guy looked ready to fall off the chair any minute if it weren‘t for Itama on his left, holding him up in an embrace while happily chatting with him and Izuna squished in on his right, forcing him into a somewhat upright position.
The younger Senju seemed way too tired to even notice much today, belatedly reacting to any verbal or physical stimuli as far as he had seen.
In fact, the exhausted albino probably couldn’t wait until they finished their food and finally drove to the hotel so he could catch up on all of that lost sleep tonight. However, that also meant that the albino‘s sharp eyes would be scrutinizing and analyzing everyone and everything starting with tomorrow, so he needed to look presentable if not a bit nicer than usual at least.
Feeling eyes bore into the side of his head, he inwardly startled at being caught staring, as his eyes slid back over to Izuna who was wiggling his eyebrows and pursing his lips at him in an imitation of a kiss.
“Shut up!” he quietly hissed and shoved at him, hoping no one had noticed the idiot.
“But I‘m not saying anything!” the brat cackled, as he bumped into an unresponsive Tobirama next to him, subsequently rattling Itama who shot them a quick bemused but confused look.
“Just stop it, you ass,” he grumbled out, refraining from hitting his younger brother upside the head to avoid any additional spotlight from the chatting couple by his side to keep the cause of the start of the situation under wraps.
There was no need for Izuna to spout lies about him ogling the light haired man like he had a crush on him or something similarly stupid. Definitely lies. Shut up.
He avoided looking in the albino‘s direction for the rest of their duration at the restaurant, even when Izuna stole more than a fourth of his dessert.
But apparently things were still going too smoothly and the universe wanted to punish him for whatever sins he had accumulated over his life at once because right before they entered their hotel to check in, Hashirama abruptly planted his feet on the searing hot concrete under a palm tree and waved them over.
Oh god, what would this be about?
Judging by the massive grin on his face, it couldn‘t be anything good.
When everyone was situated around him, Hashirama clapped his hands.
“Alright, since we always, well, almost! Since we almost always do the same room distributions, I came up with an idea this time,” he revealed giddily.
“Wait, what?” Madara exclaimed confused as the taller man started rummaging in his pant pocket.
“We‘re drawing straws!“ the idiot exclaimed joyously as he held out a fist of sticks, receiving mixed reactions from everyone around him.
“Please tell me you‘re not serious?“ the oldest Uchiha replied with a sinking feeling.
“Why not?“
“Mito, your wife, is the only female in this group?“ he tried reasoning to no avail.
“Oh yes, that‘s why we‘re sharing a room!“ the stupid tree answered him cheerfully.
And it was that moment that Madara actually took a look at the sticks in his hand and noticed that there were only four of them. Opening his mouth, Hashirama immediately interrupted him.
“Because we booked on such short notice, they only had one room with two single beds, the other two are double beds. Mito and I will take one of those but there‘s still the question of who will get the other two rooms each,“ the older Senju explained with a smile.
“Still, it doesn‘t make any sense why we should draw lots in the first place. I don’t care in what kind of bed I sleep in with Izuna,“ Madara said scowling as he crossed his arms.
“But Itama and Izuna want to try something new and right now you’re the only one not agreeing,” the brunette said pouting.
“You didn’t even give me a heads up— Wait, what? Since when does snowflake agree to your stupid ideas?” he asked, throwing the two Senju brothers in question a confused look. One of them half asleep and not even listening, the other one pouting down at him.
After all, out of the siblings Tobirama was the only one stopping Hashirama’s mischief on a daily basis when things looked like they would get out of hand while the two younger ones loved to indulge in their eldest brother’s silly antics.
“Anija asked him on our way to the airport,” Itama helpfully supplied, the corners of his mouth twitching.
“Do you really think that‘s fair? Snowflake has been closer to a walking zombie than a human being!“ he groused out, scowl intensifying.
Tobirama very belatedly pursed his lips in a pout and softly furrowed his brows but didn‘t react any further, making the older Uchiha feel all sorts of fuzzy and mushy things. God no. Trying to not show any emotion besides annoyance on his face was getting harder by the second.
“No offence, but that’s a very underhanded tactic for you, Hashirama. He looks like he hasn’t slept in days,” the older Uchiha accused to hammer in his point.
“But that’s the only way he agreed for once,” the older man admitted with a chuckle.
He zeroed in on Izuna when he too chuckled.
“And since when do you like trying out new things?” Madara accused his sibling.
“Excuse you! I try new things all the time and you would know that if you followed my social media accounts like you said you would!” the younger Uchiha answered scandalized with furrowed brows.
The older Uchiha groaned. Not this again.
“Is it too much to want some fun on this vacation?” Hashirama asked with one of his better renditions of a puppy look directed at him while Tobirama slinked off to sit down next to Mito on a bench not far from them.
Huffing, he shuffled his feet, looking around and tried to think of a way out of this.
Izuna would be his best bet of course. But if he had to share a room with Itama, things would probably get awkward pretty fast as they never had spent time on their own until now. However, Tobirama would be an even worse pick. Not because he had anything against the younger man but because of other things that he didn’t want to think about at the moment.
No, he wouldn’t play Hashirama’s stupid games this time. Why should he? Especially when his idiotic friend easily had taken himself out of the equation. Unfair. He was here to relax and enjoy himself.
Having decided against his best friend’s plea, he looked back to said friend only to freeze at the triumphant look on his face.
Oh no.
“What?”
“Have you forgotten? You owe me!” the idiot exclaimed with a wry grin.
Now it was his turn to furrow his eyebrows in incomprehension.
“You lost that bet at our last poker evening weeks ago,” the tan man replied giddily.
Madara’s eyes widened. He was right but he wouldn’t, would he?
“Are you seriously going to waste it on something like that? Hashirama, you wouldn’t, right?” he asked, rubbing his forehead to soothe his growing headache with a grimace.
He knew he was doomed, when three grinning faces met his.
“I absolutely would and I am henceforth officially claiming the favour you owe me!” the childish tree trunk of a man exclaimed laughing in glee, hands on his hips.
Suppressing another groan, Madara felt more sweat trickle down his back. Honestly, he could’ve done worse, he guessed. Hashirama could’ve used the favour to send him off to do much more horrible or embarrassing things. This was absolutely not ideal but whatever. What were the odds of him having to share a room with Tobirama, after all? Two to one against it, not bad at all. And he surely could make it work with Itama, too.
Being already fed up with the situation and the sun searing what felt like holes into his back, he decided that he didn’t care anymore as long as they could go inside soon. Preferably right this instant.
“Fine,” he conceded defeated, receiving surprised looks at his unusually short lived refusal and hooting from Hashirama.
“Alright, youngest first! There’s two short and two long ones,” the excited man exclaimed, holding out his hand with the sticks to Itama after he had shuffled them behind his back. “Don’t reveal them until everyone has a stick!”
When it finally was Madara’s turn, he didn’t have much choice but to accept the remaining stick as the oldest of the four.
“Reveal your sticks on the count of three! One, two, three!” Hashirama exclaimed excited.
Madara blanched when all of them unfurled their fists to showcase each of their picks. Had he seriously ended up with one of the short sticks? Wait, if the other two had the two long ones, that meant that Tobirama and he—
Hashirama clapped him on the shoulder with a huff of laughter.
“Looks like you and Tobi share a room!”
“Wha—”
“Okay, now I need those back and the winner team picks one of two to decide who the winner of the room with the two single beds is,” the older Senju exclaimed.
When Itama picked the longer stick, Madara despaired internally.
How could his luck be this bad? Had he seriously just lost two times in a row? Also wasn’t the looser supposed to get to pick first and—
Wait.
Oh no.
His eyes widened and he paled even more when suddenly the realization hit him that he had to share a double bed with his cru- Tobirama for the upcoming two weeks here.
He was doomed.
Suddenly he didn’t even feel warm anymore.
