✨WARNING MAJOR AOT SPOILERS✨

Okay first I wanna address a couple things before I jump right in. This is all my PERSONAL thoughts on how it COULD end, but I’ll be happy with however Isayama ends it. These are just some ideas I’ve had so most of it will be fragments. Also please no hate.

Let’s jump on in

✨WARNING MAJOR AOT SPOILERS✨

Okay so what I’ve been thinking is what if somehow the group ends up back in the place where Ymir is.

Eren or even Ymir brings them there i don’t know I don’t care just they are there

And like while Mikasa, Armin, Jean and the other adults are arguing with Eren trying to convince him to stop

I want one of the kids, Gabi or Falco. Hell it can be both.

Personally I’d like it to be Gabi.

( and before anyone starts shit about Gabi killing Sasha. Gabi is a twelve year old brainwashed child that saw people she cared about get killed. So she did what most people would do. Got revenge. Y’all really be hating on a child while Eren is committing literal GENOCIDE. )

Anyway back to what I was saying

I want Gabi to talk with Ymir.

Somehow she learns about what really happened with Ymir.

And I want her to talk with Ymir telling her she understands Ymir’s hatred and sadness

Gabi tells her how she felt a similar hate. How for years she hated and cursed her ancestors and the people inside the walls

How she became a warrior so she could inherit the Armored and free her people from their “history”

And how she’s killed some of her own kind because she’s been brainwashed by Marley into thinking she’s of devil blood.

She talks about when she killed Sasha and the pride she felt at the time

And tells her what she learned when she was inside the walls.

About how she felt when Sashas father and Mikasa saved her from being killed. How she learned that the people inside the walls weren’t actually devils and that everything she had been taught was a lie

And the guilt she felt after she learned all this

This is where it gets really iffy

Ymir could have sterilized every Eldian alive right??

So theoretically what’s to stop her from I don’t know....

Taking away the power of the Titans?

So Gabi tells her that she won’t demand or order Ymir to do anything. Gabi says she is not her master and that Ymir is no longer a slave

But that she has a request. That Ymir can choose whether or not she wants to accept this request.

She asks Ymir if she could please stop the rumbling. To please rid the world of the Power of the Titans. To make it so no Eldian, Marleyan, or any other race or creature can ever transform into a Titan again.

And then Ymir smiles at her and nods.

After she’s done it Gabi hugs her and thanks her

And when she pulls back Gabi looks Ymir in the face and says

“Now I think it’s time you finally rest”

And that’s kinda where my train of thought ends

So in conclusion I love Gabi Braun and I don’t think she deserves any of the hate she gets.

Please feel free to leave your own thoughts. Just make sure that you respect other’s opinions even if they don’t align with your own.

Unless a Grain of Wheat Falls and It Dies...

Or, why I am pretty optimistic about the fates of Jean, Connie, Gabi, and all titanized people this chapter, which is also an excuse for me to talk about SnK’s allusions to Russian literature.

There are strikingly parallel ideas The Brothers Karamazov and Attack on Titan, as well as parallel plot points and imagery to the point where if it isn’t deliberate, it’s uncanny. (NB: before people yell at me about comparing a Japanese and Russian work, Isayama has used Russian names since the start of SnK–Shiganshina is a Russian name.) In particular, there are narrative allusions to a portion of the novel known as “The Grand Inquisitor,” which is a short story within a novel. The central thesis of “The Grand Inquisitor” is as follows:

nothing has ever been more insupportable for a man and a human society than freedom.

This parable is told within the story by Ivan Karamazov, a character whose intellectuality is his gift and his curse. He tells his brother Alyosha that the motivation for creating this parable is precisely the evils done to children (oh look, a major SnK theme) and specifically cites an example which was unfortunately taken from real life in Russia and which Isayama has an uncanny parallel:

I want to see with my own eyes the hind lie down with the lion and the victim rise up and embrace his murderer. I want to be there when every one suddenly understands what it has all been for. All the religions of the world are built on this longing, and I am a believer. But then there are the children, and what am I to do about them? That’s a question I can’t answer… If all must suffer to pay for the eternal harmony, what have children to do with it, tell me, please? … if it is really true that they must share responsibility for all their fathers’ crimes, such a truth is not of this world and is beyond my comprehension. Some jester will say, perhaps, that the child would have grown up and have sinned, but you see he didn’t grow up, he was torn to pieces by the dogs, at eight years old…

the latest episode made me so excited... especially the conversation between gabi and kaya in the end. it was awesome. and i can’t help but think again about how deeply gabi actually hates herself. the saddest thing is that she doesn’t even understand it. may i just cry about this lost, misguided child?..

when kaya asks gabi why her mom must be eaten alive, all that gabi has in answer is racist marleyan bullshit. and when kaya calls her out on that bullshit, there’s nothing left but shock and panic.

because there’s no reason why kaya’s mom has to die. and why gabi and other eldians have to suffer, carrying the burden of their ancestors, too.

it’s that simple.

but as kaya struggles to understand why people of paradis have to be eaten by titans, gabi and marleyan eldians struggle to understand why they have to live in an awful ghetto, bear countless acts of violence, and be turned into these goddamn titans. sadly and ironically, marleyan propaganda is the only thing that helps gabi not to sink in the despair her life is. it gives her simple reasoning of why she has to live like that and be hated, as well as the faith in a better future.

if only she will be the good eldian, of course.

Tired: if Eren was born in Marley he would be the same as Gabi

Wired: if Eren was born in Marley he would be the same as Grisha

Inspired: if Gabi was born on Paradise she wouldn't be the same as Eren, she would start as loyal to king policewoman or garrison soldier, more similar to Marco

Imma be totally honest, I never understood why people liked Floch Forster. Like, there are a small handful of moments where I will root/cheer for Floch, but that's about it. The only consistent thing I like about him is his English dub VA, b/c he also voices Reki from Sk8 the Infinity.

"Oh, well he's a well-written character."

. . . how?

"Like, his character development is pretty good."

Oh yeah, right. He goes from an overconfident and then annoying jackass rookie in season 3 to an extreme nationalist jackass who imprisons or kills anyone who disagrees with him or does something he doesn't like in season 4. . . great character development.

Like, fr, as much as I dislike Gabi, I actually cheer every time I rewatch s4, and she shoots his ass and he falls into the water. . . which he ends up surviving, only for Mikasa to shoot her ODM gear into his neck. . . which I also cheer whenever I watch.

Screw Floch. Normally, I'd give hot male characters a break due to pretty privilege, but Floch isn't hot enough to catch a break from me.

Rewatching AoT and just finished S4 Ep 8: Assassin's Bullet. Gabi Braun can go straight to hell. Like, directly to hell.

I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion but so far, Gabi Braun is my least favorite character in Attack on Titan.
