I’d also highly recommend!! As much as I love (read: am obsessed with) my hero academia, blue period is easily my fav anime/manga of all time and I re-watch/re-read it all the time
To be completely honest, it’s really comforting and inspiring to me, and while re-watching it on the precipice of my decision to give writing an honest shot or not, it helped me gain the courage to sign up for a writing course and have a little more confidence in my ability to write original works. It hold a very special place in my heart!!
“But I’ve never felt so alive until I made that blue painting. I felt my heart start pounding just now.”
-Yatora Yaguchi, ep.1
Blue Period is one of my all time favorite animes/mangas out there. I haven’t had the time to sit down and read the manga, but I’ve watched the anime. Let me tell you, it does not disappoint. When i stumbled upon Blue Period last year, i was like, “hmmm, this one seems interesting. let’s take a look.”
I can’t tell you how floored i was with the sheer detail and color in this anime. It’s absolutely incredible! Not only that, but the story keeps you intrigued all throughout the anime. The character development is exceptional. The way it was executed was damn near perfect and i love all the details that include the family dynamics of a few characters in this anime. It all has perfect timing and i swear i bawled my eyes out at a few parts.
I think Blue Period is an amazing anime/manga, and if you’re thinking about reading or watching, i say go for it!
currently experiencing Yatora Yaguchi levels of artistic distress and turmoil ✌️
but don’t they all look so lovely <3 <3

hope you like it
"Yatoraa~" You hugged him from behind "whatcha working on." You looked over his shoulder at a blank canvas. You heard a deep sigh as he leaned into your hold.
"I don't know anymore, I'm supposed to draw something in black and white and still get the same effect as color but its hard." You could tell he was frustrated and you wanted to help.
"How about you take a little break and look around, try to find something with a lot of feelings even without color." You start to pull him away from from the canvas. He chuckles turning around and hugging you.
"Is this your way of asking me on a date." He held you tight giggling like a school boy. You would've said something if you weren't being pressed into is chest. You started dating Yatora a few months before he joined the art program and to him it was perfect timing.
"Alright lets go somewhere." He basically dragged you out of his house saying bye to his mom and walking around the bustling city for a while before you both came across a ramen shop.
small talk and childish laughs were shared at the shop. You could tell he was getting to relax a bit and you were glad. When he first started practicing art he as so excited but got burned out fast. You were glad that he was finally able to give his brain a little break. Finishing your meal you asked "did anything spark your interest yet." You said as you started to pay for the meal.
"Nope, nothing yet. How about we go your house we could watch a movie or something." He rubbed the back of his neck all shy like as you gushed at how cute he looked. "Sure lets go."
When you made it to your house you realized your parents weren't home. You began setting up for the movie in the living room
popcorn in the microwave
blankets on the couch
adds playing on the tv of the movie Yatora picked
When he hugged you from behind.
"I know what to draw now." he murmured into your neck "Ill draw you."
actually i love the topic of life changing media what is a piece of media (show, book, movie, art, song, whatever!!!) that has changed your life no matter how small that impact may be
Genuinely how do anime-onlys of literally any series do it. Whenever I get obsessed with a show and I KNOW there's more, I have to immediately go and devour the manga. Your guys' patience is something else.
Blue period ch 69 is very relatable :D
As an art student, I’ve had many similar thoughts :)
