🤓 can we point out that while Himiko reaches for Ochas face Ochako actually reaches to Himis heart 🤓🤓🤓 and it's not like the reference because she doesn't touch with full palm but like hesitantly and softly taps himikos chest 🤓🤓🤓🤓
And the skin render looks so watercolour-ish and I love the purples on skin so much and the lil bit of orange on the edges mmmmmmm DELICIOUS 👄🌸✨✨✨
The fabric of ochas dress looks like you've spent half the time on it, especially the part near her legs it's soooooooo flowy and it's actually TRANSPARENT A BIT OMGGGG CAN I GO EVEN MORE INSANE about this I wonder (probably yes)

the shadow knights!! and some head canons:
>they were all super close, like very clingy to each other. they were all kinda in love, casual kisses and cuddling n stuff
>laurance and gene were together, as well as sasha and zenix. despite this, they're still all very casually romantic
>sasha has albinism. because of this her vision isn't the best and she in particular clings onto people physically for guidance, mostly zenix
>they weren't all evil mode in the beginning, they were just a group of kids that differed from the norm and were bullied a lot. they created the shadow knights just to seem tougher
>laurance left the shadow knights because he was bullied more for being in it than not. in the moment it was fully fueled by fear, but looking back on it, he feels horrible
>after laurance broke up with gene, gene went a little bit insane. that's when they became a delinquent group

I really really tried to make things short for you but I don't think I was very successful dkhkdh but I hope you find them useful!! <3
Tracing (not the stealing kind):
Tracing is not bad when it's used to study, some of my college assignments were copying renaissance artists' sketches! Hell, when I was a kid I used to trace Undertale fanart I liked and look where I'm at fhjkads
When you study other people's styles, you can actually gather a lot of information like line weight or proportions, colors, even stylization. So get your favorite artists' pieces and really look at them for a long time, draw them, then apply what you learn into your own art. Just be careful to not steal or claim something as your own!
Focus on one area at a time:
Now you have to chose one area to practice on. You could tackle on many at a time but I find it easier to pinpoint what I would like to do first and then move on to the next thing.
There's a lot of subjects you can go into like anatomy, rendering, backgrounds, but you just have to find one area in them and get a lot of references.
For anatomy you can go into: muscle movement, figure drawing, body parts in different angles.
Rendering: Shading, lighting, color theory.
Backgrounds: Point perspective, different camera angles, landscapes or detailed room scenes.
Don't overwhelm yourself either! Take one thing at a time!

Pinterest really helped me find styles I wanted to study and anatomy tips to incorporate in my art. It really relates to my first point but having an actual compilation of how things look next to you really helps. It also helps keeping them organized like so:
Do The Thing™️ anyway:
I know it's repetitive but it genuinely works you have to trust me, practice does make progress. Stop letting fear hold you back on compositions you think are great or believe you don't have "enough skills yet" to work on them. You will never get enough skills if you don't try.
My college classes forced to pick up watercolors and paint backgrounds and I learned a lot just from trying it out. Make mistakes!! Have fun! That's how you truly improve on your skills!
Be patient and loving with yourself (and your art!):
I cannot stress enough how important it is to love your art in order to grow. You NEED to learn how to be patient with your art AND your journey because it will never compare to anyone's!! Art is not a competition nor a race, it's a medium to express yourself through a process you like. That's why there's millions of art styles and why each of them cater to a different audience!
Once you do, you can actually ask important questions like "Did I like the process? What can I improve on next time? What's something I liked I want to continue incorporating into my art?", and it helps with self esteem too.
And last but not least:
Have fun!!
Art is a journey of self-discovery, it's not meant to be something that weighs you down or makes you feel bad when you're not working on it. Take constant breaks! No matter how short or how long! If you get tired or incredibly frustrated at it, then it's probably best you take a break from it!

sent this to my friend and she told me it doesn’t suck (thank you pookie) so ill share hehe. i used a different pen than usual and im not super happy with my choice in colors but im not redoing it and its just a doodle that i spent Entirely too long on so i dont care <3 but Sidney my boy:
Ok ok so yes angst that builds over the course of the narrative and ends with A and B fucking absolutely NASTY is fun and all but consider:
The arc *starts* with A and B fucking nasty once or maybe even a few times (because what else would be a better inciting incident?) and it catches the reader off guard bc isn’t this supposed to be angst? What’s the plot? Is this just self indulgent smut (which is still fine but not what the reader was expecting)
Bc A is happy about it, thrilled even. Feelings have been acted on, things are looking up…even tho they went from 0 to 100 with B it feels normal.
B on the other hand, is a disaster. Repression with a side of pride and a dash of comphet for good measure. It wasn’t until they were literally in bed with A (or a closet, or the back seat of a car) that they even considered A to be an option. At least consciously.
THATS where you get the angst, babie! The angst and the new build up comes in the same way. Arguing, distance, confusion, manipulation…but instead of it being “will they, won’t they” it’s “will they ever again” which is just so DELICIOUS!!!!
Like every time their fingers brush or there’s lingering eye contact or an absentminded comment is made it is colored even worse because THEY’VE ALREADY DONE SOMETHING! SOMETHING HAS ALREADY HAPPENED! A and B both know there’s something there because they broke the bed (or the closet door, or the car seat) so of course they wouldn’t be rejected…right?
And of course after thousands upon thousands of words of angst and slow burn and self destructive behavior they fuck nasty AGAIN but they don’t pull away from each other after

My hobbies include-
- Randomly skipping back and forth across the living room because I felt like it
