Flowers for types of witches🌺🌻🌼🌹🌷🌸

I decided to cataglorize some of my flower correapondeces for different types of witches. Enjoy! 🌼

💧Water/sea/lunar/love witches- lotus, lily, jasmine, gardenia, magnolia, violet, rose, peony, geranium, orchids, hydrangea, lilac, passion flower, petunia

What are Magical Names?

If you’re new to witchcraft or magic, you might have noticed the colorful and ethereal names that some of us use when writing or interacting in the Pagan/Witchcraft community. 

Magical names aren’t new. They’re not a result of the internet or witches seeking to mirror modern fantasy. Most are actually spiritual in nature. 

At first glance, they may seem silly, but this is a tradition that is found in mainstream religions as well. Catholics also give themselves a spiritual name at their coming of age. 

For Witches and Pagans, it’s served 2 purposes: 

It provides us anonymity in an era where it isn’t always safe or socially acceptable for people to go by their legal name when discussing and practicing magic.

It gives us a descriptive and meaningful link to our practice. For some, they may describe staples of faith, deity devotion, or a name given to the practitioner by a Coven, Deity, or Guiding Spirit.

Do I have to have a magical name? 

No, having a magical name is a personal choice by the practitioner, it’s not a requirement and no one should judge you for choosing to use your legal name. 

How do I pick a magical name? 

It’s really up to you. It may have special meaning to you or remind you of why you practice. Common naming conventions can include adjectives and nouns. To avoid appropriation be sure to steer clear of verb+noun phrases as it can be akin to stereotypes for Native Names. 

Some things to consider:

Is it easy for others to use/pronounce? (if using it in the community). 

Is it respectful? Would you be comfortable giving it to a deity or clergy for use? 

Is it likely to be commonly used? 

Avoid requiring people to call you a title (King, Queen, Lord) or a Deity name that others may not feel comfortable calling you as this has connotations with Spiritual Abuse. 

Are you ready to adopt a magical name? If you are just learning about your practice and your path, you may not feel like you’re prepared to come up with a name that defines you yet. That’s okay. 

Witch tip: airdry clay

Airqdry clay is your best friend now. You can make basically anything.

Blank flat amulets/talismans to write sigils on. Curved ones (with your fingerprint maybe) where you can seal herbs with wax in for a spell and keep with you. Leaf pedants and things for offerings, spell pods, I even made a pendulum for my mother!

The options are endless! And if you get white clay you can paint it however you want after it's dry!

Go off and create, try stuff, it doesnt have to be perfect! It's made by you and that's the most beautiful thing

I'm awed by your knowledge, dear Diana. You make the most complex things super easy to understand. And I laughed so much when I saw your astrology masterlist because the concepts that are so difficult for me to learn are under a heading called "The Basics" 😁 I felt bad for myself at first till I actually read them and saw that you did make them very simple to utilise. My question is do you have any advise for people who have very good placements and aspects? I'm somehow afraid I'll waste them ❣

Having a Good or Bad Natal Chart

Technically, there are no good or bad placements and aspects, because there are no good or bad planets to be placed and aspected.

The most feared ones, Mars, Pluto and Saturn, actually bestow some of the best gifts. Mars gives confidence, Pluto gives power, and Saturn gives fortitude.

Placements and aspects are better categorized as easy and hard.

Pluto in the First House, for example, is an easy placement. The First House is about valuing yourself, and Pluto is about empowering yourself. There is no clash. It creates people with great self-esteem.

While Neptune in Libra in the Seventh House is a hard placement. Because Neptune is kind, Libra likes harmony, and the Seventh House is all about other people. It creates individuals who are pushovers.

As for aspects, trines and sextiles are easy; squares and oppositions are hard; and conjunctions can be either, depending on the planets involved.

It is people who have hard placements and aspects that need to scrutinize those facets to make sure they rise above them.

Mars in Libra, for example, has a reputation for being a cheater. And whether your faith calls it karma, revenge, or the natural order of things, people who cheat eventually get punished. So those who have this placement should closely watch their actions, to avoid divine retribution.

And Jupiter square Saturn tends to have their luck cut short in just about any situation. So those who have this aspect should always devise a Plan B, C and D, to ensure that things still work out for them in the end.

But for people who have easy placements and aspects, you do not have to do anything. Except follow your heart, as cheesy as that sounds.

Because the benefits of your easy placements have been installed inside of you. Like a GPS that is always pointing you to the right direction.

The only thing I can advise is regular meditation. It is you yourself who can take you to your intended destination.
