He's just tossing a Pokétoy through the hole in the wall of his guest room. His Mightyena is fetching it each time, happily wagging his tail.

THIS MEANS HE'S THE ALPHA--
There's people staring at them now. At least they slowly return to their meals when Maxie calms down a tad.
"Thanks."
Archie orders, though his choices are limited to only a handful of options due to his stomach's sensitivities. But hey, at least they make gluten and lactose free malasada nowadays. It's still fried, but... hopefully it wouldn't be too bad. He adds a regular, cinnamon sugar coated malasada to the order for Maxie.
When he receives the two doughy treats, he promptly shoves Maxie's into his hands.
"Let's walk and talk."
Cue him just walking off. No need for people listening in. When they're away from the busy streets, he finally speaks up.
"My phone was busted. Didn't have materials to fix it up until today." He holds up a little bag with spare parts. "This is actually the first day I'm outside on my own in months."

but ‘since when’? one week ago. only within the last year has Maxie finally been permitted to leave Hoenn, and for research and collaboration purposes only. so here he was now, in Alola, to learn more during the next several weeks before returning to the strict oversight awaiting back home.
the running into Archie bit was entirely unintentional.
❝ can it wait?! ❞ incredulous, the Magma leader's tone remains sharp, irritated. yet, after a second's pause, the accusatory finger is lowered and Maxie scoffs. ❝ you've already kept me waiting for three weeks, i can wait a few more minutes … ❞

Now he feels bad. He was already shoveling the sashimi into his mouth and everything.
"I can save ya some."
She stuffed the cupcake partway in her mouth, making frosting get on her face.
"Oh!" She swallowed the bit she took " Kinda!I got it for later!"
She didn't even think twice about giving the food she bought to the other.
He looks down at the ring. Huh. Neat.
When she returns with the sashimi he can't help bit smile a little.
"Ya rearranged them f'r lil' ol' me?"
Man, he wished his stomach wasn't so sensitive, though. Not that he dislikes the food he can eat, it's just... a little limiting sometimes compared to a human.
"Thank you. --Wait did ya jus' have the sashimi on hand somewhere?"
Bee looked down at the cupcake, well for one she took the plastic water stone ring off, washed it off, and put it on his hand. "Here you can have this! One moment!"
She hurried off for a moment. She came back with another little container. This container just had some Sashimi on it, not the most expensive fish possible, but she kind of moved them in the package so they are kind shaped like a cupcake.
"Hows that?"
"...I can't have some o' tha', I'm afraid."
Curse his sensitive stomach... Part of him would eat the cupcake anyway, but... He's still healing a bit.
"They're super cool, tho'."
"Cupcake ingredients. I bought a pack of them. Um" Shes reading the back of the package.
"Four, Sugar, Egg, baking powder, salt, chocolate chips, butter, milk, and Vanilla iceing"
She looked at the cupcake.
"Oh and there is a little plastic ring that looks like a water stone on top!

Okay yeah maybe he can't just. Bring up Hau and how he's teaching the kid some cool water moves.

He's finally able to go outside for short periods of time again after his injuries. Finally able to use his legs again, and stay in human form for a bit... and then he runs into this guy.
Archie doesn't seem intimidated at all by the finger pointed at him, and instead just stares Maxie down. My guy this is the Malasada shop line.
"Can it wait? I can order in a mo'."

Archie huffs, but soon enough he's pulled back in, the marking causing him to let out a groan. He feels a little useless, though, being stuck without much movement options. Maybe they could have another round when he was feeling better. Wait what?
The Aqua opts to pull Guzma closer, one hand roughly cupping his face and tugging him into another bitey smooch.
Yeah, nah. We're not moving anymore. As soon as Archie dared to try and get back on top, the same hand that until then was busy holding the former Aqua's jaw moved on his chest, all while its twin still tried to lift his shirt, making sure he wouldn't try anything weird.
Just as he realizes that, all things considered, he won that little match, Guzma finally dares to smirk, breaking the kiss with the umpteenth bite just to hiss at the scratches on his back, breathing against the other's lips before once again pushing himself against neck, leaving yet another mark on it.
At this point, he might as well keep on playing this game, yeah?
"Bwahaha!!"
More laughter echoes through the room as Archie plucks a Pokéball from the belt clip. He tosses it into the air, and out comes his Muk. An unpleasant aroma fills the air as the Pokémon cries out angrily.
"Wouldn't dare dissapoint now, would I? Who d'ya take me fer?"
A wave of his hand, and the Poison-type starts preparing a Sludge Wave to toss at the opposing Sylveon.
Of course he does.
Again, maybe she should be scared. Maybe she shouldn't be staying here and responding to his laugh with a chuckle of her own. Maybe she should just leave and leave the world saving situation to the Champion.
"Kind of expected that, yeah!"
Her PokèBall was thrown in the air one last time before she finally released her Sylveon, who laaaazily stretched as soon as he landed on the battlefield-to-be. So calm.
"Try to be at least a little bit better than your grunts, okaaaay?"
