This is a pretty old comic page with Helion and Sirius. I'm really proud of the lineart even now, its' so clean. Can you guys tell that Sirius was my favorite character? He's so pretty!!! And uuurggh... I wanna draw him some more. I ran out of steam when it came to coloring it though.

Man... I love Arcana Twilight. I mean it was messy but I was drawn in by the whole constellation world building and the mystery surrounding everything. Honestly, its such a shame that it's probably never going to get any updates.

On the bright side, I really like Helion. So I might be using them as another oc somewhere else. (maybe tokyo debunker, when I get around to actually playing that mess)

1. OK quick 😭 the gameplay.❌️ I REFUSE to spend money on this game, if we have to grind through levels for more story at LEAST make some minigames that are actually fun 🙏

2. Second. Easy. Have someone who can actually accurately translate the Korean to English ☹️..Please.... are there any korean mutuals out there......

3. Ok now for actual story and probably just nitpicky things:

Spica. love the guy. infact. he was real close to being my favorite bc personally I found his character really sweet and low-key funny. but man. by the end of game compared to everyone else, this guy got the least development :( I like all the little things, like that he's just some overworked college student who's a lil sassy and loves horses+mythological animals, but if I could make canon, I would say the reason Spica works so hard is because he has to fill the space that his influential parents left when they died in the first great disaster. Would that make? sense to the timeline?? who knows. I think he's a good contrast to Sirius, since out of everyone, he's the best example of someone who's DEVOTE to the constellations and academy, along with his adoration of Polaris' heroism. But. It'd be cool if they could've written more of WHY he's like this, It would neat give perspective

THE TIMELINE?? WHAT IS THIS CANON TIMELINE 😭 IT'S HARD FOR ME TO FIGURE OUT. WHY ARE SPICA ALPHERATZ AND SIRIUS NOT OF HIGHER STATUS IF THEYVE BEEN SORCERERS FOR MORE THAN A CENTURY? ARCTURUS TOO RIGHT? I JUST WISH I COULD UNDERSTAND WHY THERE'S SUCH A LARGE TIME SKIP FROM THE POLARIS ERA. IT COULD MAKE SENSE IF THERE WAS JUST THE WORLD BUILDING FOR IT🙏 I like to think about Marcille from Dungeon Meshi when I think about characters with long life spans, and it can be genuinely a cool concept when done right !

I'll just mention quickly that I like how they wrote Alpheratz to be this kind of cranky apathetic guy, but eventually becomes alot more likeable n compassionate. He's found meaning in protecting the friends that he realizes he actually cares about. mm. love that. But the whole Alpheratz as Sirrah thing was.. pretty brushed by? I think they mainly had it that way so Alpheratz would have more specific reason to protect summoner, it drives the mystery of polaris lore further but I don't feel like it gives the oompth that it should. Cool concept, but! I feel like it should have deeper purpose OTHER than just eluding that polaris=summoner. SAME WITH ARCTURUS BUT WE'LL GET TO THAT. Alpheratz represents the burnt out gifted kids who are uncomfortable with filling in the large shoes they're expected to fill. He could be the character to push forward the tragic narrative of what it's like have your sole purpose in life = dedicating yourself to the constellations as a sorcerer. it'd be so interesting

Make the Polaris lore more clear?? please??? There was the whole stage play where they were all like ooh Polaris fell in love with a star and ooh the void god was jealous and therefore wreaked havoc-and while I know that Sirius implies that this is far from the truth, I can't help but wonder what the ACTUAL context was for the void's motives (tho I have theories). Also. was Sirrah meant to be Polaris' lover if this was the case or?? Hey atleast it could tie into Alphertaz's whole memory thing

FLESH OUT ARCTURUS' VOID ARC MORE PLEASE. OH MY GOD. Bro when that floor first released I was HOOKED but so dissapointed how quickly they moved on from it bc like- it's implied that Arcturus has been a dark sorcerer for the void for a WHILE, but when mc frees him all he says is "Golly! How weird! Sure glad that's over! Anyways! Here's Ursa Minor! ", and it's kind of like the Alpheratz as Sirrah reveal where it's more of a device to reveal that Summoner=Polaris..than any actual major character development. So. if I could rewrite it, I'd either do maybe two things, one- have it implied that Arcturus HAD the choice of whether he'd become a dark sorcerer, but from his perspective it was a decision he made for "the greater good", but it's something he genuinely does regret later on, and it would create a shift in his relationship to the committee once they discover this. Second- it really is more of a possession that creates a seperate persona he has little control over, (which happens directly after the banquet poisoning incident). I would make it more obvious by perhaps writing in mysterious disappearances he would make or other odd behaviors he can't explain. Either way, after he's seperated from the void I want there to be CONSEQUENCE!! Like maybe he had to sacrifice his magic or something physically, just anything he willingly offers to redeem himself, idk it'd be cool.

If they didn't have to rush through the ending, I feel like an arc where Summoner actually COMES TO TERMS that they're polaris is needed. Its kind of comedic how CHILL summoner is after they have this giant life-altering revelation with this sudden insane magical power. Like- I know mcs aren't written to have too much personality in these games but cmon give them a training arc atleast lmao

Sigh..... Sirius..... I've been humbled the past year while converted into a Sirius lover 😞which is so painful bc his character deserved so much better..... I'll atleast say that when reading inbetween the lines, there's a lot of things I like: like how he's pretty free-spirited guy who just likes to have fun, a trait he shares with other queen tets like pollux, his hobby is theatre and spreading gossip and pranking people with his transformation magic, I mean, he's been around for more than a century so ofc he does. I ALSO like the nuance in how though he rarely opens up to people or reveals what he's truly thinking- at the same time- he can never hide how he's FEELING, his eyes will always give it away haha. I like to think that since he sort of blames himself for what happened with Polaris, his self-loathing makes it hard for him to believe that he deserves any form of love, despite him always joking, and despite his flirting. AND HE'D DIE BEFORE EVER TELLING YOU HE FEELS THAT WAY!! Since then he's always felt uncomfortable with the vulnerability of TALKING about his feelings. There could be a cute arc where he learns to heal from this :') ... Now, for all the Sirius haters, I know where you're all coming from 😭 because.. he tries shooting us.. and they don't even reveal why for SEVERAL. FLOORS. Dude, I would have it so Sirius DOESN'T have this insane impulsive part of his personality that HARMS people!! No!! It would be far more interesting if he played his role through intellectual means, riddled spells and stuff bc. this guy studied under Polaris afterall.

Ok and just one more thing: IF the game is meant to have Sirius as a love interest, I would NOT have mc in their past life (polaris) have a familial relationship to Sirius, it just has weird confusing vibes. I would just easily change it so Polaris and Sirius were close friends or lovers instead. If this WASN'T a romantic otome game and Sirius is never meant to be a love interest, then yeah go ahead the family dynamic would be super bittersweet!

WAIT THIS IS AN EDIT. ALSO ALSO THE ENDING !! NEEDS WAY MORE DEVELOPING !! + MORE CLOSURE WITH SIRIUS IN A WAY THAT DOESN'T KILL HIM OFF !!

Really bad breakdown of pollux’s hair for those who want it

you're in a game angst competition and your opponent is artw (the characters can't catch a break too damn).

some polaris doodles + some headcanons o7 (spoilers)

-Though Beau and Polaris are not carbon copy look alikes of eachother (except for a few subtle features), they do share alot of random mannerisms, speech patterns, and even the same laugh, which drives Sirius CRAZY

-Bc though they're two different individuals, Sirius can never doubt that they share the same essence (which is canon). I feel like anyone who's spoken to og Polaris wouldn't find it obvious that they do, but they would if they actually KNEW Polaris (like Schedar and Thuban)

-So when with Sirius, Beau will accidently do / say things SO similar to Polaris that it catches Sirius off gaurd,. He'll sometimes genuinely get creeped out and will. like. need a minute.

-Polaris was genuinely a talented/inventive sorcerer who paved the way for magic to be as developed/understood as it is, and happily shared everything he ever discovered or learned with Sirius. Sirius likes to owe everything he knows to Polaris, but never mentions how he had taught Polaris tons of things too- or how they would end up discovering and inventing spells together, since Sirius is a seriously gifted sorcerer as well, but with the disaster that happened, never ended up getting the credit he should have.

-Beau shares alot of the intuitiveness that Polaris had, which Sirius notices. They were a quite a high-credited scholar back in mid-earthium who worked hard academically, and so is able to pick up on the stuff taught at Contell Academy a lot faster than anyone expects they would, (and is why Spica has such a respect for them)

o(-( ough the lore brain-rot makes me sick I'll write more of this bc I suddenly have so many thoughts

☆Arcturus random headcanons.☆

• He has freckles.

• He has a slight myopia and wears contact lenses, sometimes wondering if he should replace them with glasses or no.

• He has his own collection of plushies in his room.

• His favorite time of the year is spring.

• He likes to wear sweaters and sometimes he knits them himself.

• He is good at soothing magic and can stop a person's panic attack.

• He likes to bake apple pies. Hint to him that you like them and next day he will bake one for you.

• He really likes to have picnics in his free time, usually with Pollux, he always invites Vega to join, but he never comes...

• He likes to pet random animals found on the street and feed them.

SIRIUS AND THE EMOTION WHEEL ‼️

(wanted to challenge myself by including each one we've been given, I've always felt like yellow = happy, purple = mischevious/calculated(?), blue = surprised/confused, green = indifference/boredom, black = angry, light grey = fear/anxiety, pink = defensive (?), red = excited, and rainbow is hard to describe but neutral..? depending on the context it could be interpretted as emotional but like in a lighthearted/genuine way idk)

Rant on Storytaco's bad writing of dark skinned characters. Specifically Sirius.

I wanna start this out with saying, I do not hate Sirius as a character. He's one of my favorites and I feel like he had wasted potential being in the hands of Storytaco. I don't think there's anything wrong with enjoying Sirius as a character either! I believe however that we can enjoy media, and look at it from a critical lense. There are good things about his character and I enjoy a lot of how he was written lore wise!!! Otherwise I wouldn't be so violently obsessed with him since the age of 15 lol. But again. There are a combination of things that I can't really see as a coincidence.

If you have anything to add, or disagree with any of my points, please do not be afraid to say so! I wanna have an actual discussion about this. please I do not bite. I stand pretty firm on my points at this very moment, but I'm entirely willing to listen and change.

Fuck Storytaco?

Uh. This is 100% inspired by recent discussion on the fandoms treatment of Sirius. But I'd like to discuss why this treatment is actively perpetuated by the developers of Arcana Twilight. Which is much more disturbing to think about when you consider their games are often marketed towards minors.(There are other issues with storytaco marketing towards minors too. Uh, idk if those are relevant for this post though. Maybe later cuz it's high key disturbing!!! 😃)

Sirius was written very inconsiderately. Like I know he's a villainous/morally gray character. However I feel like there needs to be a lot more tact when your only dark skinned character is written to be not a good person. Especially in comparison to the light skinned characters. I feel like they just applied every negative trait on earth to him, then turned around and went "jk guys! He's not actually bad. Hes like this cuz he's an orphan." 😭 Like some of these traits would be fine in their own if balanced out with other things, but there's so many combined together that I can't help but feel suspicious of their intentions and bias.

He's the most provocative out of all the love interests. He's consistently initiating suggestive situations, is labeled the "sexyman", and is constantly making innuendos. The game has a lot of fan service in general (even though it's rated E), but Sirius is disproportionately portrayed this way and is just constantly going "hehe sex 😁" Which making him the provocative one is both an issue with him being queer coded and dark skinned..double whammy 😟

He's the dangerous, unpredictable and violent one. He SHOT!!! SHOT the mc within the first few floors. And like. There wasn't even a good reason behind why they decided to write that in other than to make us think he's violent/dangerous/untrustworthy. There are times when it's portrayed that he can't even be trusted alone in a room with the mc, even prior to the villain arc. 😐

He's a pretty much a domestic terrorist.... 😐

He was a wanted criminal for half of the story. Idk if I need to explain what's wrong with that either 😐

He's potentially the only one killed off at the ending depending on your interpretation.

In the clan equivalent of Americans (cough. Guns + eagles + the lazy unlikable rebellious group that just gets into trouble) which is just. Silly. 😭😒

Again he's the "untrustworthy one that nobody wants to be around." This is a point constantly driven in by the characters he's surrounded with. they drill that into the viewers head so so so much.

He's the "party animal" of the group??? Which isn't really portrayed beyond him drinking a lot but was definitely advertised as such.

He's 100% queer coded you cannot convince me otherwise. Which. Now we're falling into queer coded poc villain territory. Double whammy again! Disney is that you?

Going off the queer coded point, he's falling into "predatory gay man" territory. Hes shipped with basically every man in the game by storytaco for promotional and bait reasons. But it's always displayed as Sirius making the other party uncomfortable and getting in their personal space. Making unwanted advances. Like... Y'all don't got a do that

Ok this is possibly nitpicky but deadass why'd they make him a basketball player in the highschool au thingy. He's a theater kid. Nothing about him reads as liking sports. Please do not wear dangly earrings while playing sports??? It bothers me so much 💀

Okay so the sassy, violent, deranged, perverted terrorist... is the only romance-able dark skinned man in the game. ??? NONONO just think about that for a good moment

HE HAS OTHER THINGS IN HIS CHARACTER. THERE ARE GOOD PARTS ABOUT HIS CHARACTER!!! I LOVE SIRIUS SO MUCH. HES VERY COMPLEX AND INTERESTING.. but this is such a horrible combination of very specific negative tropes that it's hard to ignore. Especially when thinking about how this game is advertised to minors who, more often than not, are easily subjected to subconscious bias in media and are easily influenced due to our lack of ability to critically analyze media we're haphazardly consuming. (Sorry fellow minors. As a senior minor aka 17 yo it's the hard truth y'all gotta accept. we've all been there and we've been influenced by media whether we're aware of it or not. I'm not mad at y'all or belittling. Keep having ur funsies with ur silly star men I'm not stopping you lol? This is legitimate concern and criticism towards a company that is promoting weird stereotypes to us)

And I don't think Sirius is just a one off weirdly written dark skinned character from Storytaco. Thuban (WHO IS GREEEEEY. Big issue on its own 😰😭) is depicted as lazy and rude.???? Like he has a single redeeming moment but again. Just reads as "domineering rowdy black man." Especially when you look at the whole great hero trio .. he's supposed to fall within the fantasy "Fighter" archetype with his big ass mace. Compared to Polaris who is like a Cleric and the Wizard/Ranger Schedar.

Also shout out to storytacos other grey men.....???????? I was only able to find four dark skinned men (not just tanned a bit) including Sirius when I went thru Storytacos game catalogue. Two of them are grey. 😐

Anyways Sirius was a huge motivating factor in why I wanted to make Extraterrestrial... Fucked up potential of a character. There are 100% biases showing through how he was written. These were all conscious decisions made on the writers part and I don't think it can be kept behind "he's a morally gray character who's going thru it" because there were so many good ways to show that and his grief without going to every. single. extreme.
