I wonder if this has something to do with Jack's abuse towards his son. I mean, everything has to come from somewhere.

Jack seems oppressive and demanding when it comes to Lucas' behaviour. I think Lucas is so used to this power dynamic where he's weak and helpless that he projects it on every situation. He doesn't believe he CAN be anything but a powerless weakling, so he doesn't even bother trying. However, he knows he's smart and good at engineering, so he uses it as the only way to be in control. And he tries to come off as a tough guy so that nobody suspects he's actually nothing without his inventions </3

something i love about Lucas is that he’s canonically a pussy. he is an actual basement dwelling, cowardly, self-preservative little Gremlin who feels safest hiding behind his screens and gadgets and it gives me a good ol Chuckle

besides the dinner table scene we only ever really encounter him through tv screens and video feeds or with some sort of barrier between him and us (at least in main story) and the one time we Do almost get a face-to-face encounter he fucking hauls ass out of there.

he knows his strength is his intelligence. it’s how he keeps control over situations/his victims. he’s scrawny and no good at physical altercations… BUT… technically he cant even die thanks to the infection (not without a whole lot of firepower, that is). still he runs. little shit is Not taking any chances hahahaha. juxtaposed next to Jack who is constantly up our ass in a very aggressive physical manner it’s pretty funny

So, she's a spider-squid mutant. Idk what else to say. I didn't look that much into spider and squid anatomy for this one tbh, so forgive me if this looks like complete nonsense. It's not that easy to make a stretchy spider humanoid that makes sense. Yet again, infinitely stretching plastic is nonsense too, sooo... I don't think I made it worse

Also I'm a fan of the 80s fitness aesthetic and I think it suits Mommy really well

Guys, I'm suffocating in homework and extra classes. My mental health can only take so much. The pressure is unbearable and it's very hard to run a blog in such conditions. My brain is just a buzzing mess right now. That's why I've decided to take a break

I will post WIPs and sketches, even some finished drawings (I hope), but don't expect much. I don't know how long it will take, the semester ends at the end of June, but I hope that some of my extra courses will be finished sooner. Conclusion: I have AuDHD and university is hell😞

- Kissy's outfit is inspired by her official posters and also that cloth she supports her arm with in ch4

I saw people draw stars on this cloth and at first I thought it was a headcanon or sth, but NO, there is actually some sort of stars and moon pattern on it!

- the bow she's wearing as a bracelet is actually Huggy's. Kissy lost hers in the fight with the Prototype, so Huggy gave his to her

- Kissy didn't lose her arm because the plan to blow everything up wasn't set in motion

- however her right eye was so badly injured that it went blind. Kissy now wears an eye patch and she doesn't like it when someone draws attention to her scars

- oh and i draw tails on them optionally. Idk they're just funny monkey creatures to me

Also I've found out today that Kissy canonically has a soft spot for drawing and writing, and my heart melted

Huggy, Kissy and Doey are like parental figures, so it's common to see them covered in smaller toys. Mini wuggies obviously prefer Huggy's company, so he's a happy and very tired dad

I could gently take the weapon out of his shaking, blood-soaked hand and hold him until he finally believes that he doesn't have to be defined by all the ways the world has hurt him. Then we could ruin the lives of everyone who has ever treated him like he's a monster who doesn't deserve love.

there's a scene that just appeared in my head one day and has been living there rent free ever since

Black is sitting on his bed reading Lord of the Flies. in a very demonstrative way. it's more of a statement than anything else. he even holds the book in a certain way, making sure everybody can see the cover

well, everyone exept for Blind, obviously

so Sphinx leans over to Blind and says: "Black is reading Lord of the Flies with the most pretentious and idiotic look on his face"

Actually all safe haven toys escaped the facility and now live happily in a remote cabin in the woods

I think he's a very dysfunctional autistic😞

He displays a lot of symptoms:

- intense special interests (engineering, robotics, that scary clown is probably a thing im their world too, so it counts)

- stimming. Lucas can be seen shaking his leg and humming to himself in Not a Hero. Vocal stimming seems to be a common thing for him. He makes a lot of funky noises

- social withdrawal

- He only wears loose comfy clothes, which may be an indication of sensory issues.

- he also doesn't like being touched (he tells Zoe to get out of his face when she clings too much in Daughters)

- or when his stuff is touched (annoyed when Eveline is taken to his old room; also that fuck you list entry about Jack throwing some of Lucas' stuff out on the veranda)

- sensory issues with food (kinda? He complains about his mom's cooking, doesn't like it even when the whole family is fucked up with mold lmao)

- difficulty with neurotypical communication patterns. Lucas is very direct with expressing his discomfort. Takes things very literally (like in that fuck you list entry about him looking in on Zoe when she was doing yoga. She called him a pervert, most likely JOKINGLY, but Lucas took it seriously)

- tendency to systematise and categorise (the fuck you list and childhood journals)

I can think of a few more symptoms of autism (+adhd) that he shows, but they're either based off his general vibes or my speculations

Aaanyway-

Due to mental health neglect, Lucas is dysfunctional and unaware of his autism, which leads to internal turmoil, low self-esteem and sense of emptiness. Idk it's me speculating here again, but I just enjoy diving deep into psychology, so I dare to assume that Lucas tried to get rid of this emptiness and self-hatred by projecting it onto others and killing people

I'm experiencing curiosity so

Lucas Baker enjoyers, what mental illnesses to you think he's coded with and why?

I've seen a few, I've definitely seen ADHD coded behaviors but I've seen a few people theorize he could be schizophrenic. I'm just overall curious to what people think and their reasons, especially since I haven't analyzed too far into it.

The promised Catnap redesign 🌜

I wasn't certain whether I wanted to post this one or not bc maybe (just maybe) I got a liiiittle carried away with body horror, but bestie told me they're loving it (the design) so ig it's fine lol

Notes on this redesign:

- I'm fine with Catnap's original design, save for his cartoonish creepy head and weird paws. I mean ye, he looks freakin cool, but I'm trying to imagine what would be more or less possible to actually create in real life

- this Catnap is less mutated and more surgically changed. The idea here is, he was mutated into a giant purple thing and then some cat features were added via surgeries.

- during mutation Theo's ears elongated and became pointy, but it wasn't deemed enough by the company, so they stitched fake cat ears to his head :')

- they fixed his lips in a permanent smile with braces as well as removed all of his teeth and his eyes to make him look more like his toy prototype

- weird paws are actually just hands and feet now. Not that i don't like his paws, i just don't see how he could walk on those (they look really unstable)

I'm sorry. Poppy playtime obsession got to me😞

I feel bad for the toys and I won't rest until my mind comes up with a scenario where everyone lives!! However, that need alone is not enough to make me draw something.

While I love the toys' designs bc they're all such cutie patooties, their biology/anatomy just make no sense to me (well, most of them, i have little to no issues with Huggy and Kissy) >.<

That's why my autistic ass (powered by sheer confusion and need to make sense) decided to redesign the characters. Well, not the TOY designs themselves, but rather the ones that are alive and were previously humans- YOU GET IT

To justify my redesigns I also had to rewrite the story a little. Pardon me, but I don't understand how they made human/toy hybrids that are both organic and artificial... This makes zero sense to me, so in my rewrite Playtime Co. created their living "toys" via mutation and crossing human and other creatures DNA. Some Umbrella + Urbanshade shit, yea... Right now I'm done with Yarnaby and Doey, and there's also a Catnap redesign in progress (I'll show him later)

Here are some notes on my redesigns:

YARNABY

- I genuinely tried my best to figure out his vertically split mouth, but after doing some research I realised that this is probably anatomically impossible:')

- my main inspo for his mouth are snake jaw and some resident evil mutants. I used boss forms of Moreau and Lady Dimitrescu from re8 as references, bc they both have these weird segmented jaws, but i feel like Moreau's jaw gives off more of like, Yarnaby vibes, so my Yarnaby's jaw is similar to that of Moreau's

- instead of having fur made of yarn, he has real fur, cuz my Yarnaby is a fully organic creature, a mutated human. His fur is just dyed in rainbow colours, however it wasn't re-dyed since the hour of joy, so he isn't as aesthetically pleasing as he once was (still perfect to me)

DOEY

- again, Istfg I don't get the logic behind this living play dough. If he's made of clay why does he need food... The answers I'll never get. ANYWAY- Since I'm trying a mutation approach here, rather than ??? whatever we see in the game, I thought "what is the most play dough-like creature on earth?" And my mind immediately screamed OCTOPUS. I mean, they're squishy and gummy- They can squeeze through tight spots, they're colourful and look like jelly

- also while looking for octopus references, i found out that they have neurons in each of their tentacles, which allows them to multitask! I thought this was a cool explanation for how Doey's personalities control the body

- so yea, my Doey is basically a human/octopus mutant hybrid. That's it. Although idk how they merged three persons into one living being. My main idea is that boys just fused during the experiments... I'm trying my best here to make sense out of this all, don't be hard on me😞
