I guess I've found the answer as to why I never write fanfiction for the things I like even if I want to
My therapist just told me my problem is that I need to write more fanfiction.

I wish humans could vibrate when we're really stressed to relieve pressure. Like, you know when you're feeling really anxious and you really want to scream but you can't because you're in a public place and the inability to express your stress makes or remove yourself from the situation causes more stress? All of this could be solved if we could shake ourselves so hard that we forgot what was making us anxious for a precious thirty seconds.

I think the difference between the "I can fix him" trope and the "love helps people change" trope is that the former implies effort on the lover's part, and the latter on the person needing to change and grow.
Because a character realizing they're going to lose someone/have lost someone they care about because of their bullshit and actually fixing themselves because that person means the world to them? Beautiful. Poetic cinema. Zero effort on the other person's part. Character shows up on their lover's/family member's/best friend's doorstep like "you deserve better and so I'm going to do everything I can so that you are happy and have your back even if it means I don't get to be with you because I don't expect anything from you" and the other one looks at them and the concrete actions they took to do that and goes "Okay. Maybe you can stay."

It’s been a long time since I’ve been on tumblr, but I’m hoping it’s worth a shot again for when I start making horror content!
Anyway, I’m in the contest for Face of Horror, and I would really love for everyone’s votes! As I get more, it gives me a little more initiative to post content online, whether it’s here, insta, or tik tok. Why must I fall for every fictional spear-wielding woman I see?
Didn’t see any posts about it so here it is for the other Photosensitive folks,
Nimona has a lot of flashing lights, no intense strobing (ie Incredibles) but includes:
Alarm sequences (red lights, ‘police’ lights), explosions and gunfire
Sparks/flashing/flickering lights, firelight
Thunderstorms and lightning effects,
Flashes from color to black (hard to describe)
All within the first few minutes of the movie, frequently throughout.
It wasn’t too terrible when I watched with other lights on during the day but I tried watching it with them off and it was pretty bad. Sharing this so other people can find it would be much appreciated!

So you've heard of queer-coded villains, but have you heard of...
...villains who don't sit correctly? Evil executives who sit criss-cross applesauce in their oversized chairs, waiting for a protagonist to walk into their office so they can dramatically spin around? Monarchs who put thousands to death as they sit on the armrests of their skeletal thrones? Mad scientists who perform inhumane experiments, build bombs and sit on the headrests of cheap plastic chairs without a care in the world? Why? Because people who don't care about about manners or other people aren't going to let anyone else tell them what they can and cannot do.
If you've ever mocked someone, or a group of people, who say they're suicidal and you don't have an extremely good reason, then you're a trash person. I don't care if you think they're lying, if they "can't possibly be suicidal" because "they have it so good" or "they're just overreacting"; there is a very good chance that you could be the cause of their death. Everything is an act and an overreaction until we follow through with it and you realize that when you could've helped us or even just left us alone, you chose to mock us and dismiss us because you were ignorant. I hope it fucking haunts you.
