guys istg i can’t do this anymore JUST LAST NIGHT i was going to buy an aphmau series poster but didn’t bc i couldn’t decide which one 😀 and then this afternoon THEYRE ALL SOLD OUT. so now i am in mourning.

Hot take because of the recent discussion

Travis’s creepy behaviour in mystreet isn’t Dante’s fault because you guys seem to forget mystreet season 1 and both first seasons of diaries were released before Phoenix drop high, Dante wasn’t a playboy nor creepy then or in the entirety of mystreet but Travis still was creepy and invasive to Katelyn, suddenly pdh came and Dante was a playboy and I genuinely think Jess did this so she can pin it on him 💀 but it still didn’t work cause even then Travis never was an innocent little bean to begin with his father is an even bigger creep in mystreet if anything his behavior can be traced back to Terry not Dan, I’m not excusing or defending Dante’s behavior in Phoenix drop high cause I don’t like him in that series or anyone for that matter in PDH cause they all sucked. But why else would she make him like that suddenly? He was alright in mystreet season 1 and the entirety of Diaries. If she wanted to show us where Travis’s behavior came from she could’ve just put Terry on screen. Also Travis in mystreet is an adult. He’s responsible for his own actions he’s like 20 something canonically

No cause it’s so offensive to not defend your close friend who you know did nothing wrong WHILE on vacation that THEY took you to.

Why didn’t Garroth, Travis, and Nana jump in and say anything? Didn’t Garroth literally just mention a few episodes ago that Dante hasn’t dated anyone since Nana in Highschool? And Nana confirmed it by punching him, fully debunking the cheater propaganda and then Jess remembered that and showed us that he in fact didn’t cheat contradicting herself again for the 200th time. nah cause they were so fake to Dante I can’t believe he took them to a one week 5 star cruise afterwards none of them deserved it he’s better than me fr most annoying part of that season was when aphmau came in with her 4 foot self involving herself in something that had nothing to do w her and talking about some “where’s Dante I gotta teach him a lesson1!1!1 🤬” girl you barely reach his kneecap he can literally pick u up and throw you out of a window sit down you have much more important struggles to worry about like how your boyfriend can’t be around kids and how you almost dated your half brother. Now be grateful you’re even here in love love paradise mrs grown woman who swims with toddlers in the kiddies pool and Nicole.. you also grow up you’re crying childishly cause he doesn’t date you 💀 it’s not the end of world seriously get over it y’all never were and never will be a thing leave that man aloneeee there are many fish in the sea go date Katelyn instead if you want one with blue hair so badly

Okay so I'm taking this for my rewrite. Basically, Zane married some Lord for a village I made up because I refuse to rewatch the series. Because of this when Zane becomes a Shadow Knight he's tied to Orion(the Lord). Orion, who is a Fae creature that I added specifically because Fuck It, is already basically immortal unless killed. So these two are stuck together, Zane slowly losing his edges, softening over the years as he stands beside the unholy pacifist. Orion slowly letting his too sharp edges peak through the gentle exterior.

When Janus, the last of the Jury of 9 to die, passes they both sort of cling to each other. Every century that passes changes them. Zane goes from MCD!High Priest Zane to PDH!Zane, letting himself be pushed around because he refuses to fight back in fear of his own power.

Orion, manipulative and pacifistic but willing to fight for his people, makes himself sharper as Zane softens. He becomes colder, crueler even. PDH!Orion is basically Zane's shield throughout PDH and basically is fending off attempts at being inducted into the Shadow Knights.

The Shadow Knights don't get why Zane makes them so uncomfortable or why Orion is so attached.

Guys, I'm in a sort of... mess. I've had so many cool ideas, but now they're starting to interfere with my actual plot that I have planned out for my mcd rewrite.

Here's the deal. My shadow knight lore is that the souls of dead guards killed in the nether are turned into shadow knights via the nether's dark energy. So essentially, my shadow knights are made out of a mist/energy type substance that forms into their body. This allows shadow knights that are in control of their bodies (shadow knights that have broken their guard bond by killing their lord) or shadow knights that completely lose themselves (think young SK that are engulfed by rage or bloodlust) to transform into monsters not unlike the hellish beasts from the nether.

This is also why they are able to be immortal. Once they've broken their guard bond, the dark energy wrapping around their soul corrupts the soul completely. So if they get badly hurt, their body fades into a mist-like substance again and gravitates to the nearest nether portal so they can heal.

But if a shadow knight hasn't broken their guard bond yet, if they are badly hurt, their body will fade into mist and go back to the nether, but it's unable to bring the soul with it, allowing the soul to pass on naturally like it was supposed to when the shadow knight first died.

So, if a shadow knight with an unbroken guard bond (Laurance) never gets hurt badly enough for his body to fade away, then he'll just be immortal anyway. It's not full-proof, he can still be killed. But he doesn't age, doesn't really need food or water, can't be killed by the elements, can't get sick, etc. He isn't human anymore, he's a creature from the nether.

Also, Irene is just immortal. The other divine warriors (excluding Shad) reincarnate, but she doesn't. This is why she got so numb to emotions and wanted to get rid of her memories and go into a deep slumber in the first place.

Aphmau isn't a reincarnation. It's Irene's body that doesn't have any memories and forms it's own identity. So she still is immortal. Especially when she gets the relic at the end of season 1, Aphmau is no different from Irene. She just lacks experience and skill with her abilities.

So now that we've established that Aphmau and Laurance are immortal and will never age, we run into a problem. If I wanted just the two of them to be end-game, it would be perfect. But I also love Garroth. I want the three of them to be together.

But having old man Garroth next to young Aphmau and Laurance doesn't feel right!!!!

So I'm trying desperately to think of a solution. If I take away Aphmau and Laurance's immortality, I would have to completely change the story. Especially with Aphmau, because her existence depends on Irene living so long and losing touch with her humanity.

I also really like the idea of them being immortal.

I could also make Garroth immortal, but how? Even if he gets a divine relic, it won't work. He's set to reincarnate, not live forever. And making him a shadow knight feels wrong.

...

Okay, what about this. I let the three of them be a happy trio for a while, and then Garroth dies suddenly. What if he dies protecting Aphmau from some sort of horrible threat? Laurance is losing his mind because he could have taken the blow, not Garroth. But as he's dying, Garroth tells Laurance that someone has to stay with Aphmau for the coming centuries, and he was never meant to live that long.

I could also have some build up before that of Aphmau refusing to come to terms with her immortality. Having panic attacks because as all her friends age, she isn't. Having nightmares about the day everyone will die except her. And Laurance is her only comfort because he won't age either.

What's the verdict on this line of thought?

Absolutely. This man could’ve been POPULAR and he stared at his brother and decided ‘No, I will NOT be doing that. No thanks.’ and made people leave him alone under threat of freshman meanness. Frankly? I wouldn’t wanna be friends with a rude freshman, freshmen are men, I was a freshman last year and we were mean!

Btw if you portray Zane as socially inept or anxious you’re going against his character and should label it OOC because that man’s charisma is off the fucking charts and chooses to be alone. People flock to him he just hates them.

Some art based off of my Aphmau hyper fixation rewrite!

So, I got hyper fixated on Aphmau’s MyStreet in 2025, which I haven’t thought but about since like 5 years ago.

Anyways, I like many others realized that the series had so much more potential than how it’s ended up, specifically in the character department.

So I started messing around with the idea of how I’d write it and the changes I’d make.

I don’t know how I feel about including all the magic and non human shit, so as of now this is a completely normal world with some remanants of magic for slight hijinks.

I also don’t want to delve into the romance parts just yet, and honestly would rather focus on the non romantic relationships first

I’m also going to state that I absolutely love the idea of Aaron, but I don’t like the canon execution of him. Fanon Aaron is far superior, and I’m going to do my best to channel that.

Please keep in mind that this is kinda just a rough idea of stuff I’d want to do, so It’s not all that polished!

High school:

- Aph starts high school as a sophomore, homeschooled previously because of bullying and over protective mom. She meets FC online and they talk every day. BFF/online siblings.

- She meets Garroth who’s a year older than her, prodigal child of his family leaving high standards for the others.

- Also meets Laurance, who is in the same year as her, friends until he moves away towards the end of sophomore year but comes back during senior year.

- Zane is a year younger than her, is a bit of a menace. Bad relationship with garroth due to the expectations placed upon him.

- She, KC, and Kaitlyn are in the same grade and become quick friends.

Collage:

- Aph and FC still talk every day.

- She and KC go to the same college, Kaitlyn goes to a different college that is nearby and meets Lucinda. At their college, Aph meets Travis and Dante. Lucinda Kaitlyn, KC and Aph have girls nights every other Saturday so that’s how Lucinda folds into the group

- Laurance and Garroth go to the same school, Laurance on a soccer scholarship, garroth for business. They’re roommates.

- Garroth shares several business classes for the first year with Aaron (who’s been forced into it by his parents). They actually become pretty good friends, at the end of their first year they both switch majors. Garroth realizing that business wasn’t actually his dream, and that the only reason he did it to begin with was to make his parents proud. His parents are happy that he switches to doing something else he loves. Aaron transfers schools entirely, but him and Garroth keep touch. [ while Garroth does, tell Aaron about most of his life and his parents and yada yada, Aaron really only says that He’s in a similar boat and that His parents want him to take on the business but it’s not for him, so while good friends Garroth doesn’t really know everything about Aaron’s family life)

- Aaron transfers college and ends up meeting Blaze and his friends, idk exactly what Aaron is going for but he goes and kinda disappears off his families Radar (or they decide to let him have a bit of rebellion) [Blaze quickly becomes Derek and Rachel Lycans number one hater]

Pre Mystreet:

Aph has an apartment, that turns out to be in the same building as Garroth and Laurance, who she’s kept in touch with since hs, but not as much as she prefers. This is where the two would really realize they have feelings for her.

KC and Kaitlyn have an apartment about 20 minutes away, Lucinda has a diff apartment but is at KC and Kaitlyn’s place often.

Dante has a job at the same place as Garroth, which leads him to getting introduced to Laurance, the trio becomes quick friends.

Zane, still a bit bitter doesn’t talk to Garroth or keep in touch, tho he went to collage for business and minored film. He’s actually the first to move to MyStreet.

Travis is off doing something else at the time tho he keeps in close contact with Dante, and occasionally calls Aph

Aaron has a house out in the woods, he actually opens up a dog training business out of his house, as well as a doggy day care. He really only keeps in touch with blaze, Garroth, and occasionally Shu (they’ve been messaging less and playing their game less as their adult lives start)

Lucinda and Nicole went to Hs together and buy a house on MyStreet not long after Zane, but before the rest arrive.

Mystreet:

- To be less creepy, Aph is the one who actually suggest moving to MyStreet to Garroth and Laurance. The landlord at their apartment changed the lease and has been getting worse, so the three collectively decided they want out.

- Aph convinces Kaitlyn and KC to join her, as their apartment is rather small, and definitely not in the greatest shape, and they agree.

- They all decide to get places near each other, and end up moving out around the same time, Garroth and Laurance only a few days ahead of them. They invite Dante, as the boys had gotten pretty close and they wouldn’t mind living with him. The six move in the same week, they still don’t know Zane lives there.

- Aaron’s family eventually find him through his dog day care, and are pretty disgusted in what he’s doing. His parents call him uncivilized, and essentially threaten to ruin his business if he doesn’t “go back to being a civilized human and move into a real house.” So he starts looking around and ends up in the City the rest live in. A few people see him around town, coffee shop, convenience store, grocery store, and around their neighborhood as he’s looking at the house there, and they think he’s a Hobo (he does in fact look like one a bit)

- When he moves in, no one really notices that it’s “the Hobo” since he really isn’t out that often. When they do l, they finally get to show Garroth that guy they’ve been seeing around town. It takes garroth a moment but he eventually recognizes Aaron. (Since he was till under his parents thumb at the time, Aaron’s appearance was much more well kept and clean.)

- Aaron actually bonds with the other members of the crew instead of just being their cause they’re Aph’s friends. He’s only really introduced to the guys at first, since Garroths the only one that knows him (and the guys were the only ones noisy enough to gossip about the “hobo”). So he becomes pretty close to Garroth, Laurance and Dante. He’s also pretty chill with Zane, their mail gets mixed up often, which is how they met. Zane likes that Aaron’s a pretty good listener, Aaron is happy that Zane’s fine with him just listening instead of responding.

- Aph finds out Aaron is FC, because he sent her a picture of the logo he came up with for his dog training/daycare site, and she sees the same logo as a sticker on the back of Aaron’s laptop. He had no idea she was Shu till she told him.

That’s all I really have for now but if I get more ideas I’ll definitely post them up here

you’re all getting zane because he had the big first paragraph and no one gave any specificities!! also i’ll be putting a few ages at the start of paragraphs/by names {mostly for me to get a feel for time stuff since i hate character age garbage <3}

zane ro’meave, he/him, cis no romo/sexuality label, 36 at the end of season 1

he’s the youngest because i thought it was like that when i was watching as kid

the ro’meave children loved playing in the snow, zane was the best snowman decorator

when vylad {15} had come back after being pinned as dead a lot had happened. zane {12} can’t remember much of that day except that his mother was missing and that his father gave him a nasty scar along his right eye and impeded his vision

when zane {16} was in the practice grounds he saw long wavy auburn hair, and as soon as he rounded the pillar it was gone. zane would remember the small glimpse of the person he saw when he was an adult

his final test to prove to his father that he could rule o’khasis was to ‘deal’ with falcon claw. he did all as instructed, and felt no remorse when he heard screams of innocents from the fires as he rode away on his horse

he became a priest for two main reasons. 1. to get out of an arranged marriage, since priests couldn’t be married and 2. him and his spouse really didn’t like eachother

when he was at ‘priest training’ as him and his classmates called at, he found how easy it could be to use people to his advantage

he doesn’t like to be called ‘father zane’ and likes the more important sounding title that ‘high priest zane’ gives, as it also shows how high up he is on the ‘scale of religion’, again being his words

he doesn’t take worship seriously, and when he finds out there are reincarnations and that he is related to the reincarnations of esmund and kul’zak while not being one himself he feels furious.

im gonna go in paragraph-ish order now this is a lot more difficult to make nice than i thought it was gonna be lol, and this is it trying to be even ‘nicer’

also you might see my brain devolve throughout this, thats just me being tired since im writing all this late at night lol

so. kiki, emmalyn, and aphmau. what do they have in common that relates to zane? they show intense emotions iguessBUT! emmalyn is very standoffish as she had heard about him through her connections through her fellow scholars, kiki basically thinks of him as an animal that needs love and care, and aphmau knows that he is up to basically nothing good {he determines how he interacts with someone based on their reactions to his introductory teasing which is partially how him and janus got close}

he thinks kiki is the best option for the pendant experiment. the way it works here is that it needs a beings blood on it and it mixes all of the dna together and makes a child. zane didn’t know this when he was burning down the eastern wolf tribe and stomped on bodolf’s paw as he reached for it; eventually when janus reported back on his ‘child’ they noted the child had werewolf ears and a tail as zane understood what he did wrong immediately, although he had no way to correct this when he learned about it

{34} on the topic of child experiments {lol what a combo of words} alexis was another one. he read up on shadow knights and how if they were turned soon after they were born something would happen. since this something was undefined he had to find out for himself, so when he heard about the newborns in phoenix drop he had an idea

all priests have the symbol of irena somewhere on their body to show their dedication, zane chose the back of his neck so he wouldn’t see it all of the time

he sits as the obsidian father in the jury of nine, because everyone is under his ‘care’. he looks over all of the paperwork and looks over candidates, he is known amongst the jury to bump up those who is seem promising, such as iverline. he is also the speaker for the group and is stuck on a rotation of meeting hells for a lot of the time which impedes his traveling, so he uses the jury for whatever he needs

he also had to break them to a certain point to get them to work under him without making them resent him. janus was easy as the two are naturally close, jeoffery was about an intermediate difficulty and katelyn fought but fell into line soon after meeting jeo, lillian was more mental manipulation focused, kim and ken are indebted to zane, june was excelling in the most famous guard training camp in ru’aun and was ecstatic to join from the reputation of the jury, and ein was just basically stocked to be himself i guess

also, fun fact, continuing on the ‘getting people to do what he wants’ and stuff, he gets touchy/in personal space/flirty to throw them off guard and has never followed through with this. he is a priest after all, to think he would do such a thing is blasphemous!

he uses his connection to the patron irena and their friends above religious locals and people

when zianna tried to ‘save’ him {17} from garte, he dismissed her and reported to his father. he rarely saw her after this and was one of his last regrets before losing himself

jeoffery was instructed to talk with the phoenix drop kid at the academy, because young minds are easily malleable, he {zane, 34} thought it would be helpful to try and get him on the jury’s side. brian, who was called velius at the meetings and between jurors and told them to treat velius like the little brother of the group. he gave false promises to the kid, and the night he was going to leave for home zane called him in and handed velius a communication amulet between him and the jury; the kid was ecstatic and, eventually, when he let it slip he was sent to the royal o’khasian jail

once he was out of irena’s dwelling {irene dimension} he called back the jury, some came running back after missing him for so long and others, like iverline, were summoned since they were at the top of the waiting list

when aphmau finds out she is the direct reincarnation of irena she holds it above his head, and he despises it with his very being. it gets even worse when he finds out the group are more reincarnations, he is practically livid.

when it came to kiki he was very good at playing the pitiful-boy card, for emmalyn he played the demanding-overlord-with-a-soft-heart and would hang around the library, and with aphmau he would always stand a little too close and get too touchy with them as he would push him off

the baby shower present he gave alexis, a maroon teardrop necklace, he knew it had something to do with shadow knights from janus and lillian, his eyes and ears of information. the only similarities between the reports were shadow knight energy, netherrack, youth, and proximity to obsidian. when he saw that alexis had turned into a fully-grown shadow knight he thought she would be under his control and mentally developed, as he was about to hit her for not listening to him and being sluggish aphmau got him in his bad eye and started cussing in olden tongue {more on that in another post} and alexis snapped out of it as he stumbled backward; least to say he was not pleased and marked her on his list. after this molly came down and helped with the situation as best she could

i was trying to figure out mcd zane from memory and how he looked to me when i was 10-13{?}

i didn't even start on the first episode, somewhere around 15 was suggested to me 😔

i started it properly a couple days ago though so that's nice

i could go on and on about mcd zane’s characterization for HOURS dude i’m so fr. cause like i firmly believe that mcd is the type of media that allows fans to interpret any character however they want because canon is weird and full of plot holes- BUT! personally i could never see mcd zane as anything but a villain. like that man was a FREAK. he slaughtered whole ass villages and hurt literal CHILDREN for fun like cmon guys. and like ik some people aren’t fans of mcd aaron so they kinda ignore his character and stuff but if you do pay attention to his backstory you would really understand why diaries zane is such a horrible person. like he slaughtered the dude’s entire village! you can hate aaron all you want but that was so fucked up . and what’s also horrible about it is like he probably did it to MULTIPLE villages too, cause there was no reason to just only go after falcon claw lets be real, he wanted to do more then that. PLUS literally everything that happened in season 1 ???? dude literally RUINED LIVES. LIKE ARE WE FORGETTING ABOUT ALEXIS ??? OR THE ENTIRE WEDDING DISASTER ?? like WHAT 😭 and again i’ll say that you can redeem zane and stuff in your rewrite i’m not judging anyone for that- i just know personally i could NEVER do that. it just like- kinda takes away from the whole point of his character in the story i feel ? not that you can’t do that cause jess fucked up mcd’s writing tremendously- but i just feel like zane was such a good villain. his purpose was to be a villain. so like- i know that keeping him that way in my rewrite at least is what i’m going to do. like he’s silly and absolutely bonkers insane but that’s part of the charm! the entire reason i think hes cool is BECAUSE of how evil he was. idk i just think hes neat slash derogatory (that’s a joke)

anyways yea sorry if this makes absolutely no sense i’m just rambling atp. if you have redeemed zane in your rewrite feel free to share what you did because i find it super interesting !!!! just don’t take this post the wrong way please i promise i’m not shaming anyone i swear </3
