I just saw someone on twitter comparing Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss color pallets to SONIC THE HEDGEHOG CHARACTERS, like bro out of all things you choose a franchise meant for kids!? Also what’s so bad with Viv‘s aesthetic? I don’t get it
Not my usual style but wanted to do Stolas justice!
Hazbin Hotel Character Design (Part 1?)
The specific design motifs in Hazbin Hotel ALWAYS frustrate me to no end. So I'm gonna talk my shit about it. (Do not come for me HH and Vivziepop stans, these are merely OPINIONS from someone who has no backing in animation or anything relating to character design. I am simply a writer.)
Let me start with Angel Dust and Valentino first, because holy shit they make no sense to me design wise. Angel being a spider is such a cool concept, but there's no real reason behind it besides being involved in "a web of crimes", referring to his mafia ties (which are NEVER expanded on if I'm not mistaken). Same with Valentino being a moth. It makes SO much sense for Vaggie, since moths symbolize death, transformation, and rebirth - all things she went through - but Valentino? He would be SO much better as a spider and I feel like it's not spoken about enough. I got this idea from a video on Hazbin I watched where the creator mentions how Angel and Valentino's species motifs should be swapped and I was like; "Woah. I never thought of that." Spiders are well known predators that LITERALLY capture their prey in a web woven of their own incentive. Valentino being a spider would make perfect sense, and it would also be kind of ironic since spiders symbolize patience and persistence, yet Val is super prone to temper tantrums when things don't go his way. Angel Dust being a moth also makes sense, since the goal of the show is redemption, which is a form of transformation, and seeing Angel slowly become a better person reflected by something like the pattern on his wings changing - during the show, he could even be designed after a caterpillar, and when he gets to heaven (I know that doesn't happen in season one of the show but it should have since he was the og hotel resident) he could become a full fledged moth, or butterfly even, emerging from a chrysalis or cocoon as this beautiful creature. It would be a really cool parallel to Vaggie since she became a sinner and Angel a saint. CATERPILLARS CAN ALSO BE POISONOUS!!! REPRESENTING HIS SELF SABOTAGE WHEN IT COMES TO HIS RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS UGH Viv I know I can't draw but let me on the design team I can COOK. (I might continue this since I have many more gripes. Don't hold me to that though.)

I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THIS SONG! AAAAAAAAAAH—
Ever since season 2 concluded back in December, I’ve been rethinking Brandon Roger’s slip of the tongue about how Blitzø “ran” I.M.P. instead of “runs”. A lot of us were convinced that Mastermind was going to have Blitzø’s business being destroyed along with the building it was being run in. But then Sinsmas aired, and I.M.P. is still going strong.
But then that begs the question, was that earlier statement by Brandon just a slip of the tongue? Or were we given a hint to a future conflict/conclusion that takes place in a later season?
Personally, I think there’s still a chance that Blitzø is going to lose I.M.P. And my obsession with finding lore/future hints in Vivzie’s official merchandise turned a simple passing thought into a freakin full blown obsession that just won’t leave me alone. So of course I’m going to share the insanity.
This Halloween T-shirt’s art is what started it all.
Blitzø is dressed up as an angel, something that anyone from hell would consider as terrifying or monstrous. Perfectly in theme with Halloween while also being ironically hilarious to the audience.
But what if it’s more than that? What if it’s a possible hint about how Helluva Boss will end? What if Blitzø doesn’t lose I.M.P. or willingly retire and pass it on?
Helluva Boss could just as easily end with Blitzø’s death. But that doesn’t mean it’s actually “THE END” the end for Blitzø’s or even Helluva Boss’ story. Because Blitzø could be reincarnated as an angel, just like he’s dressed up as in the Halloween art.
After all, Vivzie is also famous for another show based in hell that focuses on redeeming those condemned to live in hell. And one of those sinners was even redeemed and made it into heaven after sacrificing himself for his loved ones.
This sounds exactly like something Blitzø would do. In fact, he’s already tried to sacrifice himself for his family once already, and I highly doubt he won’t do it again. Especially with Stolas in the picture being as apathetic of his own life as he is.
Now, we know little to nothing about how death affects hellborns, or if they even have souls that can die like a human’s from earth. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be a possibility! After all, ghosts might not exist in the Helluva Boss universe. But reincarnation hasn’t been taken off the table yet! And it would really add an interesting twist in the lore of the Helluva/Hazbin universe. Which would then be the perfect excuse to bring some Helluva Boss characters over into Hazbin Hotel.
Oh, and then there’s the full moon/heaven imagery to consider.
Heaven is the freaking moon in Helluva Boss! And Stolas has already visualized Blitzø as being unreachable in the glow of said moon…
So, maybe there is merit to the idea that Blitzø can be reincarnated into heaven. Thoughts?

okay so I was busy all throughout last night and I never saw viv's tweet, so imagine my surprise today when this cinematic masterpiece showed up in my yt notifications!!
overall such a great episode and it leaves me SO. FUCKING. EXCITED for season 3, but more (MUCH more) thoughts below the cut (I tried to make it in order this time ;v;)
first of all, I'm LOVING the domestic Stolitz SO MUCH and soft moments like this is exactly what they need after being in such a hypersexual relationship imho
I didn't even think about how weird eating eggs would be for an owl. Or that stolas eats rats
Stella and Andre are being assholes, what else is new.
It's interesting how they treat Octavia like a child, talking about her as if she weren't in the room with them
The whole scene of them shopping was so cooool

Millie being frustrated and wanting to kill the family was especially interesting after getting more background on her after ghostfuckers. After finding out that she's pregnant at the end of the episode, it would make sense if she wanted to kill them because it reminded her of that and she was scared. But it could also connect to her "I'm the muscle and nothing else" insecurity that we saw from ghostfuckers. Even if she's come to peace with that, it's bound to come back on a day all about celebrating your origins.
Laughed my ass off when stolas punched Andre. He def learned that from moxxie and millie
The fight scene was absolute perfection. You can tell the animators said "fuck the budget!"

A little detail I loved was that blitz was actually able to make stolas laugh, even though they are both in such dark places. And I think that's how they are gonna get through it in the end

honestly it sucks ass that this even happened, my prayers go out to Viv and her team. I can't even imagine investing this much time and energy into something all for someone to steal it. but at least it's over now

Recently, I was given the opportunity to be handed a document they had created not that long ago, about their experience with Vivziepop, and why they and Viv aren’t fond of one another anymore and don’t work with one another. The document includes commentary by Ken themselves, and screenshots of conversations they and Viv had together. The timeline of the screenshots go from 2017, where Viv was developing the pilot, to 2020, where she was pitching the show, where Ken lists everything that Viv had done. Sure thing but y'all know that characters are supposed to be flawed in general AND they're in literal Hell where everything is more violent and sexual as on earth?
I love Stolas as a character BECAUSE he is an insufferable and selfish dick who thinks he can never be in the wrong. It's a really common personality trait and I like seeing it in Media. Today's "Assholes" can't be "assholes" anymore, because they all need to be "misunderstood" and I like that despite the tragic backstory you can still clearly tell he's in the wrong more often than not and that his backstory isn't an excuse but a reason - which everyone has.
Blitz is my favorite character BECAUSE he is absolutely incapable of overcoming his bad traits but he tries sometimes and when he does he fails and fails and fails and becomes more annoying to other people. He's hurting everyone - sometimes even accidentally and he doesn't realize it. He wants to overcome his trauma in all the wrong ways which heavily backfires and is stopping him from forming proper relationships. The two people who really owe him something (outside of adoption) just tolerate his bad behavior and are now - after the last episode - finally getting some growth of blitz in return.
I don't really care for Loona but for a traumatized, abandoned, literal DOG who just got adopted last second and having her entire life living in misery AND with a father figure with a character like Blitz it is understanding for me why she portraits her "love" to him in such a Stonewall-Way and treats him rather awful. She lived in the streets and her new family are mentally ill assassins, where was she supposed to get a healthy way to cope and communicate with people from? She still cares for him tho - both literally and figuratively.
And the phrase "no one wants to see characters doing their job" is literally just an opinion. Not a fact. Just because they think it's boring doesn't mean it really is. Different tastes exist for a reason.
Warp That Aesop Sums Up So Much Of Our Frustrations About The Series
I just love Helluva Boss' Warp that aesop page because it sums up everything wrong with this series, especially on Stolas' end. Seriously, this hits the nail on the head about the messages of the show and how much they dick suck Stolas and his shittiness.

hazbin hotel headcanon Sir Pentious and redemption
I’ve been seeing some fans speculating that it will be revealed that Sir Pentious lost his memories and at first I wrote it off because if he forgot about his time at the hotel then all of his progress would be erased
But it would make a lot of sense if when a sinner is redeemed they manifest in heaven with memory loss
Because I refuse to believe that in all of hells history not one of the millions of souls got redeemed until Sir Pentious
So i think that there has been many citizens of hell who have gone to heaven but because they were no names who didn’t remember ever going to hell nobody noticed
I hate everything about Helluva Boss except these two. They are so cute together <3
I wouldn’t mind if Hazbin Hotel consisted only of Alastor speaking. 10 hour version pls??
