Whatever Marvel has planned for Barton in Infinity War will likely lead him to becoming the sword-wielding vigilante known as Ronin. Set photos show that Renner will be sporting his Ronin costume in Avengers 4, which means that Barton won’t resume his role as Hawkeye by the end of Infinity War. It’s possible that Renner’s absence from the trailers and posters can be explained by the idea that most of Hawkeye’s story will play out in Avengers 4 instead, and that the character will have limited screen time in Infinity War.”
