based on an anecdote I heard on a youtube video (It's in Spanish, sorry fellas).
Thought I would reveal the primary ship. They are both disasters who hate eachother. Enemies to lovers? Ha! More like enemies AND lovers.
This takes place after the events of the comic.
As kids me and my childhood best friend used to play that we were pokémon - Plusle and Minun specifically - and if someone wanted to join they could be Pikachu which was not at cool because Pikachu didn’t have a counterpart that it shared a theme with and that was literally identical to it save for the color scheme
I dunno if your drawing prompts are still open so if they aren’t just ignore this XD
But I loved your headcanon that Elite Red and Purple used to care for Smeet Zim. Maybe draw them feeding him apple sauce? 🥺

Control Brains as punishment force tallests to sit on a diet
With how snacks are so important to Irkens that their snack storage are seen as a weak point by their enemies, I doubt that would be how they're punished if the Brains would punish them.
But I think a Tallest-centric episode where they for some reason don't have access to snacks would be fun. Watching them go from nervously but thinking they'll be ok to slowly degrading from snack withdrawal and getting more desperate and insane as time passes.
And there's a scene where Purple finds the grossest, half-eaten chocolate bar under the bed or something and then they fight over it.
