pokemon headcanon pokemon headcanons pokemon hgss hgss rival silver ‼️personal canon zone‼️ something i've noticed and would like to expand upon in my own exploration of gsc/hgss's story is the idea of finding balance between people and pokemon between strength and weakness and probably some other stuff that i'm not remembering at the moment (look this isn't meant to be a deep dig it's just casual observations from someone who's playing hgss again for the first time in years) i think exploring that idea further through the lens of gender identity could be really interesting since in mainstream society and even in some queer spaces there's that push to be just masc or just fem because if you're gonna be one then you can't be the other---you *have* to pick and choose obviously this is a gross oversimplifaction but y'know i find silver to be in a really interesting spot to navigate the intricacies of gender since he already struggles with strength vs weakness again with the stuff about gender roles/expectations where men are the dominant figures in almost everything it's all about being raised as “weak” and wanting to be “strong” then getting to the other side and realizing that the grass is not in fact greener and having to grapple with and unlearn all that weird stuff people tried to/are still trying to push on you until you finally learn that you don't have to live up to other people's ridiculous expectations and that you can just exist as you are for the sole purpose of being you without owing anyone an explanation or apology or what-not anyways rant time over :) this might be a half-baked explanation but i think i got the point across in my defense it's nearly 4:00 am and my brain has refused to let me sleep (i've just given up at this point) idk if there's a conversation to be had here but if anyone has any input i would love to hear it!!
