y'all ever get so sleep deprived you feel drunk. I'm at a sleepover rn and we all are just acting drunk. We haven't injested any alcohol our group ranges from 11 to 13 years old (im 13 i can be on tumblr-) we're just so sleepy

so uh remember when I made one of my friends read school bus graveyard (CHAPTER 48 SPOILERS)

btw my art is usually much better then this I just made this on a whim-

So i made one of my irls read school bus graveyard, and she's been reading it in car rides and during free time at school. She just finished it a few minutes ago, actually. And she keeps hitting me with the most foul jokes in the middle of class today.

like uh here's some things I can remember, idk I'm brainfogged from overstimulation so there's probably more.

teacher: "anyone got any guesses on how to pronounce this word?"

friend: *pulls out her phone and pulls up the picture of tyler getting fucking impaled and puts it in my face*

me: "hematop- [HER NAME]."

me: "uuggh, my head feels like it's vibrating..."

friend: "like aidens?"

me: "wha- NO. FOUL."

I LOVE YOU AIDEN

Aiden Clark is a complex character in a variety of aspects, from symbolism within his design to how his attitude changes throughout the course of the entire comic, and events that predate even that. A majority of this essay will be comparative, looking at the differences and similarities between his child, and current self. I will delve into the significance of certain design features that are the most obvious as they are an outwards symbol of his personality, but also some deeper subjects that may not be as apparent as on the surface. Take this as a guide to understand the character, or my interpretation of him, a little better!

The first, and the most obvious topic of conversation to symbolise this, would be his outwards and physical appearance. I find there’s such a stark difference between him when he was younger, compared to a majority of canon time. Younger aiden generally appears darker. His eyebags are more apparent, making his facial structure seem older than he should have at such a young age, making him appear worn and tired. His hair is black, and eyes are dark too. These aid to the symbolism of his darker hair signifying worry, fear or depression. His clothes are a lot stricter, being seen in a suit in one instance and very drab, plain coloured clothes when alone. If we compare this to how his in canon clothes are bright reds, and yellows and filled with vibrancy, we can see where the two sides of him seem to diverge from one another. Aiden is consistently smiling now, there being very few instances when he’s seen without a smile dressing his face. He’s brighter on the outside. Even his hair is brighter, dyed blonde and his eyes fake red with prescription contacts. A lot of the time we see this was when life began to go his way. Aside from the phantom dimension, his life was looking up. He had friends that were more like a family, and seemed to be healing from the depression he was once fighting off. Though, near the end of season 2 we begin to see how his past self haunts him in more ways than one. Though the main way will be explored in more depth in a few paragraphs time, we see how his hair begins to grow out, leaving black roots. It’s symbolic of his old self clawing its way out the grave it was buried in as his life deteriorates again. We see this in his eyes too, as his prescription begins to irritate his eyes- leaving him with the dark eyes we saw when he was younger.

The next topic would be how he acts, and presents himself. When younger, we can presume he was incredibly withdrawn and antisocial. His parents say, in episode fourtyfive, “It’s weird, Aiden used to be such a quiet kid.” and we see this when he’s lying on his bed in the dark with a grim expression on his face, something we couldn’t easily think of our current Aiden doing (at least, on the surface). Though, a reason for this may be how he was dragged around from place to place by his parents, treated almost like a pet or accessory instead of their own child. The relationship they had with him seems almost fake, as they didn’t take into consideration the way he acted or any worries that should have given them. Though, Ben began to join him, and we can presume that's when he started to open up, once he was shown love. In the beginning, he appears to be the over the top, annoyingly bubbly character, but as we progress we see his arc not take away all his joy, but instead we see him adjust the levels of his love, and extroverted exterior to make the people around him comfortable. Aiden is happier, and more outwardly kind. He now goes at the pace of the group, because he cares about them and doesn’t want to make them uncomfortable in any way

As mentioned previously, Aiden is heavily haunted by who he once was. While other members of the group, like Ashlyn and Tyler, have nightmares about the phantoms it's only them currently that are ‘possessed’. We see both of them have a current reflection of themself, showing that they’re scared of who they really are, or who they are to become. Aiden, however, has a younger version of himself. He’s strangled by himself from back then, and we can tell this from both the hair color, and the fact he’s smaller than Aiden. It’s like he’s choking on denial, the words to communicate those problems are stuck in his throat and that's why his phantom stands on top of him, choking him out. This also shows the complex layered view he has of his past self, how he views it as a demonic thing parallel to the horrors of the Phantoms. This is his hidden secret worry, this is what he wants to bury because he finds who he was, and what he went through, so terrifying that it's the weakness the phantom in his nightmare preys on.

The final core difference I think stands out the most is his friend group. Before, Aiden lacked real friends. He’s told us himself the most he ever really had were what I would describe as “proximity friends”. Essentially, people he could never be close to. People he talked to because they were near, not because he liked them. He had no connection to them, unlike when he moved to Alto, Georgia. He has a social life because of his friends. They’re an incredibly close knit group, and that helps him from spiralling into a sort of depression like one he had fought before. Though, this came at a price. I’m sure he wouldn’t trade his friends to leave the phantom realm, after all they’d been through, they live as an extension of each other. I firmly believe Aiden would not have been able to be who he was, if the phantom realm was not involved. Before Ashlyn, Tyler, Taylor, and Logan, he only had Ben. Before Ben, he had nobody. His friends have shaped him into who he is today.

In conclusion, there is strong evidence to support the similarities and differences they share and divert at. On the outside, Aiden seems to be slowly but surely reverting back into who he was, but we still see how his loved ones have truly changed him, allowing him the peace of mind to heal faster than Tyler or Logan. Although he may begin to appear like he did when he was younger, his friends are a sort of light that keeps him stable.

Running. Running is what they were doing. Running from Phantoms, Ashlyn had decided that they would have to hide until they got their things straight. It would only be a few seconds, a minute at best, but that's what they needed. They had just gotten out of a building, expecting nothing since they were out in the forest; but instead they were a few meters away from about 15 phantoms, and that means more than plenty of food for monsters, if they got caught. Or.. would they be food? What would they do with them? What was their goal? No time, Ash got with Aiden and they both went into the storage room, which was really big because a wall had been broken down.. Aiden had taken the job of holding the door shut while Ashlyn was incharge of getting the weapons sorted. She put some on her and Re-aggrend some on Aidens vest, also handing him a taser, just in case.

As he held the door though, a thought came to mind. Does she always smell like that? He thinks it's a new perfume that she has on. Maybe it's the adrenaline pumping through his veins, maybe it's the perfume, maybe he's crazy.. No he's crazy, it's because he's crazy. But at that moment he blurts out, “This might be a bad time to mention it, but I really like your perfume.” he does it with a chuckle to, Ash just looking at him and sighing before yelling to the others ‘on the count of three’ before they go out and kill all the Phantoms.

It goes off and it wasn't that bad, only a few scratches on them. Ash and Aiden go on like he hadn't said that at the worst time ever, and Aiden does eventually find out that she was wearing a new perfume that day.

Tyler's scar is just mentally, because you can't re-grow a whole stomach ;_; <3

They were hiding on a roof.. A roof. That's not a good place to be when youre them. It was kind of all blurry what happened, just knowing that now they were waiting to meet up with the rest of the team. Tyler had come through on a breaking out radio signal, and Taylor was so relieved. He said that they would meet them there and to stay put, and they could do that. Although Tyler had requested to talk to Ben, so Taylor had handed him the Radio with her hands shaking, the nerves still up. Once he got the radio close to him her brother said, “You do anything to my sister. I will feed you to the Phantoms. Protect her with your life.” Even though Ben could easily take Tyler in a fight, he was still frightened, but more like disappointed that Taylor's brother hates him… Taylor did give her brother a ‘stooop. We trust him’ 

They both got off the Radio and Taylor put it back in her harness on her waist. She took a shaky sigh, and tightening up her body posture. They were sitting down by this point so Ben could see how she put her head against her knees. Ben felt bad, even if he was in the same position as her. 

“I'm scared.” She looked over to Ben and he could see tears forming in her eyes. Her breathing was faster than normal, and he didn't want her to have a panic attack.

“I know, but I need you to stay calm, okay?” he sighed to her, his face looking genuine. He was scared too. They weren't just talking about this moment, they were talking about the whole thing with being here. It's okay to be scared, it's reasonable to be scared. Maybe later he would tell her he was scared, but right now he wanted to be someone she could talk to without concern. She gave a soft smile that Ben returned too, they were going to be okay in the end.

What was she supposed to say? “Thank you for not dying”  what, no, she has no idea how to approach this; she does want to say her thanks to him, even though she wasn't even near him, he still fought to live and she had to witness that. She was the leader, she should've been there or done something. Ugh stop thinking about this, why was she so worried? Maybe because they are stuck together for who knows how long and if she messes it up, everything could go into even more hell.

Eventually she did get Aiden to a place where they were alone, even if they were still all in Ashlyn’s house. They went to her room, since it was about 11:00 and she didn't want to go outside in the cold. As they walked in Aiden looked around and had his smile bigger, Ashlyn turned around and looked at him, they were standing face to face. The girl started, “That was good, Last night.” she clarified when she thought he might've not known what she was talking about. “It was dumb, but you fought and survived. I should've tried better to stop you.” She told the truth. It was dumb of him to go off on his own.

“Thanks.” He said “Get over it, I snuck off, my fault. And of course I was fine!” he laughs, ‘Mr. Durable’ she thinks faintly. He doesn't put anything on her for the situation that he got himself into. 

They stand there for a bit longer before Ashlyn says something else, “okay, let's go back out there.” Aiden turns around and opens the door, letting Ashlyn walk first with a dramatic hand gesture, following behind her as he hears her say, “We never speak of this again, do you hear?” when they're on the steps. He gives a nod and a thumbs up to her question, and they go back to acting like they don't care all that much for each other.

“I won't let anything happen to you, I swear. [Taylor + Ben]

Taylor woke up gasping, that's pretty normal for them though; Ben also did this at the same time. They had just woken up from the Phantom dimension. Hers didn't stop though, she did have a pretty bad encounter that night though. Ben noticed this and went over to her, it was only them since they had math together and were doing math homework at Ben’s, or Aiden’s, house. They had both passed out at twelve and woke up at seven.

Ben was holding her and trying to comfort her, he was also kind of freaking out because he didn't know how to do this that well. She leaned into him and he let her, moving back her hair so it wouldn't be in the way. She was crying and he just held her through it. They stayed like that for a good amount of time. 

When she was just sniffing, and wiping the last of her tears, he pushed her away, with his hands still on the top side of her arms as he looked at her, questioning her silently. “Im okay,” she said, going off clues of what he was asking her. 

He let go and put his arms down along with slouching more to be at her height. They looked at each other and there was a promise between that. Maybe neither of them knew at the time, maybe they never will. But it was there, that look of, “I won't let anything happen to you, I swear.” It wasn't just with them, it was the whole group. At some point they all had this moment with each other.

“I never noticed your [---] before. It's cute.” [Ashlyn + Aiden]

They were sort of in a situation right now, they were stuck at the back of a bus with no where to go, there was a Phantom at the front of the bus and some outside that Ash could hear, Everyone else was at the other bus, Ash volenting to go get the supplies they needed, and Aiden following behind saying that he would help. When they got off that bus it was okay, but then something fell, they didn't get to see what it was or where it went before a Phantom came running for the entrance of the bus. They scrambled to the back and were now hiding in a small corner that wasn't filled with supplies. They weren't on top of each other, more like just kind of squashed beside each other; with their legs and feet tangled a bit. 

The Phantom was still near the front of the bus, deciding if they actually were in here or not since it couldn’t see them. They were patiently waiting for someone to help them, somehow. They knew that they had the rest of the group as a lookout, as they told the two before they went off. Ash was just wondering why it was taking so long.. After a few more seconds of sitting in complete, terrified, silence she heard them killing some of the Phantoms that were outside. Not a lot got in, but more might if they don't hurry up and stop making such loud noises.

Taylor and Tyler finished up killing the last Phantom that was on the bus before whisper-yelling that it was safe, Taylor knowing that Ashlyn heard that. They got up and Ash made sure that there weren't any more Phantoms really nearby, even if it was kinda hard to tell with all the random Phantom noises.  They were walking out of the bus quietly when Aiden whispered, “I never noticed your freckles on your neck before. It's cute.” He said it in a way that was mockingly, in reality, or this reality he was just nervous about actually complimenting her. So he plays it off as a joke with his smile.

Okay, I've been corrupted by the Tyden shippers. (I'm not really complaining..)

I feel like their first kiss was when they were alone, and it was really awkward. And when the others came back Aiden was on one side of the room and Tyler was on the other.

They were just sitting in silence after that kiss, even Aiden, because he didn't actually know what love was like and he didn't know what to do.

It was also awkward when they came back, because all they said was hey and wouldn't talk unless someone talked to them, and they didn't go near eachother

Ben went up to Aiden and asked what did Tyler do, and Aiden was like, "uh haha nothing!!" And when Ben kept pushing he told him that they would talk later.

He did tell Ben and when he did he stood there like ":0" for a good couple of seconds. Because his brother cousin just had his first kiss!!

Taylor could also tell that something was wrong and started questioning when they got home, it took him a couple hours for him to say anything. But when Taylor found out, she was screaming. Like squealing, running and skipping around the house. Because her brother has a kiss!!! With Aiden!!!! Yay!!!!!!!

It was only a week before Ash and Logan found out, and Ash didn't really care but told them to be careful, and Logan started kinda freaking out because, what the heck?!?! Then once he wrapped his head around it be was happy and done with it ofc 👍

Very Specific Middle Regression Things

These are all pretty particular to me and what I could think of, so feel free to add on your own experiences!

Scrambling up the stairs on all fours like an animal

Seeing what will happen if you balance the light switch between on and off

Making up extremely elaborate stories in your head as you take a shower/bath

Trying out ridiculous makeup riiiight before you wash your face for the night so that way no-one but you sees it

Picking out random things from the refrigerator and seeing what will happen if you cook them together

Recreating your favorite characters on the Rinmarugames Mega Anime Avatar maker (this game is still playable it’s on dolldivine!)

Gathering different soaps and lotions from the bathroom and mixing them together just to see what it will smell like

Inventing personas, getting dressed up to fit the role, and then taking and editing unnecessarily dramatic pictures/videos of yourself

Listening to music and imagining your favorite characters or OCs singing along or starring in an elaborate music video

Coloring in your nails with sharpies or other markers, or drawing “tattoos” on your arms with them

Pretending that you have some kind of rare magical ability and then acting like you have to hide it, vaguely alluding to your “powers” etc

Making up code words for various real or imaginary things in your life and referring to them as such

Little Aiden Headcannons

Note that Im not for sure on all the information in this and that you can tell me if I'm wrong!

Also, If you don't like it, don't read it. I feel like I have to say this Incase because of the small fandom 😭 sorryy

Chaotic toddler.

He has enegryyyyy

Only times he is calm is when he's tired or really wore out

Likes climbing on stuff and falls

Keep sharp objects away from him, he will run around with it and try to stab things

He doesn't really have a certain time he does it, since his parents aren't there usually and he has the whole weekend, so mostly during the day, sometimes leading into the night.

Likes to chew on things, so definitely has a chew necklace.

Probably has a smiley face one

Ben definitely keeps one in his bag

Uses them when not little too

Ben is his main caregiver

He found out when they got close, so few months of knowing each other before

Ben knows how to deal with the chaos (or somewhat knows)

Only one that know about the regression before the SBG group

He has many activities to do, just keeping him interested in them is the problem

He does have coloring books, mostly from childhood that he still has from moving

Still likes puzzles, that's the main thing he keeps his focus on

Likes to skateboard and play outside, mostly because there's more to climb on outside, like trees..

Gets hurt a lot

Ben always has a medkit on hand for him, no matter what he has one because of how much Aiden gets hurt.

Doesn't cry or anything, mostly just complains that he has to be careful now and he has to wait

Has scars on his knees from scraping them.

Likes movies but doesn't have an attention span long enough to actually watch them

Action movies are his favorite, but horror is also his favorite

Ben doesn't like horror movies or having Aiden watch them

Has them on as background and will randomly get distracted with a scene and stop whatever he's doing to look at it. But then looks away when he's uninterested again

Watches them when going to sleep, or taking a nap. He falls asleep before it's over because he doesn't have anything to occupy him.

He probably likes Cars

Didn't really have the time to regress when the whole Phantom thing happened

Went at least a month without it, which was fine for him

Ben knew he wasn't regressing and was worried obviously, but he couldn't really do anything about it himself. Ben told Aiden that he was there and would help and Aiden told him that he was fine, and it was probably with all the things going on.

He was getting frustrated about it not happening though, which wasn’t helping, but he was getting more tired during the big tasks that he had to do.

Still kept a smile like always.

The SBG group did find out eventually, but not really on purpose

They were all together, having fun before they all passed out at 12:00

He regressed, and he knew he was, but he thought he could play it off and no one would question it, and he had about two hours before 12:00 and once he was there he would be big again. He also did need too, since he hasn't after Savannah

So when he was, he started being a little demon child, and was messing with Tyler. Ben noticed that he was regressed but didn't say anything without Aiden saying anything first, he was trying to get him to stop so he wouldn't blow his cover but couldn't really..

Ash looked at Ben and asked “Is he an age regresser?” and when Ben froze, (he didn't know what to do) she looked back to Aiden who was fighting with Tyler on the ground.

Logan was the second to realize when he was sitting in his tire playing a game, he got up and went over to Ash and said that he thinks he is, since he also knows about that topic.

The twins didn't know anything about that tho

Anyway, after the Phantom realm they had a talk about it the next day, where Aiden said he was and that Ben was his caregiver. He explained some stuff to them and Ben helped when they asked questions of how to handle him.

They all also explained stuff to the twins about what this whole thing was.

This is how he sees everyone, and some names he calls them:

Ben, En - Caregiver, like a brother

Ash - friend that he likes to try to do stuff with

Tyler, Ty - Brother that he fights with and plays pranks on

Taylor, Tay - Best friend that he likes to do pranks with, play games and hang out

Logan, Lo - Friend that he tries to do stuff with and he plays games with.

Doesn’t have gear, and doesn't need it, he also doesn't need a Caregiver, but is okay having one

He does have stuffed animals tho, mostly from different things and places

I think he regresses due to not having his parents' attention and wanting that. 

I think that's a Trauma Regressor.

 I'm not for sure about that, tell me if anythings wrong or is bad because I haven't went really deep into looking stuff up 

His range is 4-8 or somewhere around there

I'm pretty sure that's also like… a Kid Regressor...?? IDKK SORRYY
