OMG someone actually responded! With so much! And it's the author of "wear whatever feathers you choose"!!!
I'm really happy that you decided to respond and think about it, and your fanfic is really great, I'd already read multiple times, love how you portray the voices.
I'm not really good with words but I'll try my best to also share my opinions on your thoughts, if you don't mind.(I hope you don't)
Separation of SM & LQ is not clean
I'll be honest here, I haven't seen all of the dialogue with narrator in the confrontation scene, only partially. But I think I've seen someone else also mentioned it? Might have new thoughts after I watch every single of them.
It's really interesting to think that due to a part of her being part of you, you change just like she did. And I hadn't actually thought of them breaking off because you cannot change completely, that's new! :D

I never got a chance to play slay the princess, and only had the chance to engage through playthrough recently, by helping a friend translate.
It's funny how when my friend played the adversary, the only reason they got that path is because since they already start fighting her, might as well finished the job. Not sure if that counts as stubborn, but I guess it's similar? They didn't back out from the fight, and both of them shall perish together.
In the adversary, they were scared of the princess and choose with a careful approach which resulted in the hunted, "Fear is good, fear keeps us alive". But it's also fear that causes us to lose, and gives us the ability to sense.
A few more things that I hope you don't mind sharing opinions on
Does looking at the mirror makes us whole again or is it something else?
If we're in are mirror what will the princess be? (Just asking for art reason)

Usually we only see the arm and the mirror, I brightened it up so we can see clearly
Our protagonist got wings! FOUR of them! Made me kinda wonder why they haven't use it, maybe it's because they didn't know? But they also acknowledge their feathers and claws so I'm not sure.
Next is feet (Wraith route) . They have webs, and their feathers extend to their knee.
This is from the adversary route where your face get yeet off. The triangle is the beak, at least I think so?
2023/12/15 update:
It is confirmed by the developer that the protagonist has a beak and he also does not have a beak because he and the princess's nature is paradox
And a bunch of organs :)
I think that the protagonist have grey skin? At least that's what I get from Fury, but than again most of the game is grey scaled.

Gold Room, 2009
(Frente al restaurante de al lado del Gold Room, una señora vende masetas muy bonitas).
Un largo espejo. Dos TVs plasma. Futbol. Beisbol. El tema "Como Yo Te Deseo", de Maná. Iba a poner algo en la rocola pero mejor la dejé que suene. Espejo con logo del Gold Room rodeado de unos disenos de palmeras. Lo alumbra una luz de color, que constante y gradualmente cambia de color. El techo es decorado por mural que muestra "el espacio". Estrellas y planetas. Varios de los planetas son como Saturno. Tienen un aro alrededor. Ilustraciones de Saturno, del planeta Saturno. Varias de las estrellas fueron pintadas mas gruesitas, otras como si hubieran usado una técnica en la que se salpica pintura con un cepillo. Botellas, vasos, copas. Olor a tortillas, a tacos. Una botella mostrada orgullosamente, como en pedestal: "Rémy Martin XO". Ahora suena "la luna llena sobre Paris". Caja registradora con un screen saver, en el cual se deplaza por la pantalla el logo del Gold Room. Cuando llega al extremo de la pantalla rebota y continua desplazandose hacia otra dirección. Suena "eyes without a face". Contemplo el diseño del borde de la barra. "Te deseo". Reflexioné con tal frase. Porqué estoy tan contento? Ahora hay japanese taco. Ja! Van a comenzar tacos de todo.
