Kageyama bites the bait. “You also never told me that you were going to Brazil.”
“Not everything’s a competition, Bakageyama. And stop trying to change the topic; we were talking about you,” Hinata instantly snaps back.
Kageyama believes it was and will never be easy once he steps into a whole different side of volleyball for the entire world to glue their eyes on him. It gets even difficult when all he could think of is Hinata, Hinata, Hinata.
Or, Five times Kageyama references Hinata in his interviews and the one time Hinata interviews him.

Here is my work for @kagehinabigbang in all honesty, i struggled with writing this as i was juggling academics and whole other bunch of personal life stuff, but i really enjoyed writing this! it's my first time writing something over 10,000 words (and it was a personal goal of mine that i wanted to achieve this year so yay!)
and thank you to the kghn bb mod team for being so accommodating and patient with me 🥲 big, big thanks to cindy as well for creating this beautiful art (check it out here)
crazy to me how tobio could practically read shoyo’s thoughts like it’s nothing. they’ve known each other for a couple of months but they already know how the other one thinks. they understand each other so well that they don’t even need to speak to be heard. tobio can just take one look at shoyo and know what to do. shoyo can just look up at tobio and communicate with his eyes alone. kagehina can understand one another on a level that no one else could.
the new kagehina official arts have been so adorable and perfect!!! i love how it shows the little things they do together outside of practicing volleyball. not only are they inseparable on the court but also in their daily lives. they’re just so cute!!! i love when shoyo smiles so big and when tobio pouts in the background. it’s so THEM!!!
also this art hinting at the “you can fly higher” scene is so peak and perfect. tobio looking at shoyo so intently while shoyo’s probably rambling about something random. no matter what shoyo is doing, tobio will always look over at him. THIS IS PERFECT 😭😭
i’m so kagehina coded that whenever i think of soulmates i think of them…because what else possibly explains their relationship?? from that game in middle school, to meeting again at karasuno?? that fateful meeting at karasuno changed their LIVES!! they became better players, better people, and finally found someone to call a PARTNER all because THEY FOUND EACH OTHER AGAIN! during timeskip, it didn't matter that they were on opposite sides of the world because THEY WERE CONNECTED!! they were destined to stay together forever! i can just imagine them as old grandpas playing volleyball like they were first years again…

might be because i’m so emotionally attached but rereading haikyuu in my 20’s really did help me. it’s so motivating and so relatable. yes, volleyball is a large part of it, but the emotions and thoughts throughout the story are much more than that. you can apply all the lessons throughout the story to your own life. it is SO MUCH MORE than a sports manga. it changed my life for the better. all the effort you put into things will work out in the end. you’ll find your passion. the connections you make will fuel your life and last forever. you might not feel you have accomplished anything, but all your hard work will pay off in time. TODAY YOU WERE THE DEFEATED, BUT WHAT WILL YOU BECOME TOMORROW?
this official art of kagehina makes me so stupidly happy because it really is SO THEM! like of course shoyo has the biggest smile on his face while he runs right next to tobio.of course they are training so hard TOGETHER! because who else would be right by shoyo's side other than tobio???? furudate draws kagehina so well every single time. i just love kagehina so much...
yearning is such a beautiful thing. what i love about yearning and slowburn is that while the romance progresses, you can get to know the characters better, which makes the audience see how deep the bond in the relationship is. all the small moments have meaning. every interaction, every thought, and every glance means something and is a way to emphasize how much love (platonic or romantic) the characters have for one another. there is something so beautiful about yearning because it's so human to want something so badly, but you have a part of you that is afraid you'll never get it. romantic or not, i love watching/reading characters find their person and learning all about each other, becoming so close and connected that it's hard to imagine life without the other. yearning to know more, yearning to be closer. it's so beautiful to me!
as much as i wish haikyuu was getting another season, i already know i'm going to be crying my eyes out watching tobio and shoyo achieve their dreams on the big screen. so many great scenes are going to be animated in the movies and i just hope the studio takes good care of it. i just love haikyuu so much...it's so special and i just hope it amplifies the manga's beauty.
timeskip kagehina is so special and dear to me. all that growth, all that time dedicated to becoming the best players, after spending so much time in high school, they never lost touch. all their hard work paid off. the losses, the times they felt defeated, and all of the pain led them to find their way back on the court to play together again. just so beautiful <3
i LOVE kagehina official art where they eat together. they don’t HAVE to spend their lunchtime together but they CHOOSE too. they train, they practice, and they take the time to make their bodies stronger by eating. it makes me so happy!!!! look at them stuffing their faces!!! you can’t separate them!
"he's better than hinata" doesn't mean shoyo is a bad player. it's been stated so many times from the beginning that shoyo was not at his best, he didn't have the training others did and compared to hoshiumi, shoyo WAS not the better player. HOWEVER, that does not mean that kageyama does not believe in shoyo. even though he saw someone who WAS better than shoyo, that didn’t mean tobio didn’t see his potential. in fact, it made him see that hinata could soar even higher with his help.
we all know hinata wasn’t at his peak during high school especially his first year, but kageyama saying hoshiumi was better wasn’t meant to be taken as kageyama being mean. it’s just a fact. despite that, kageyama still believed hinata can grow even more!
what made shoyo become the incredible player that he is was his determination. he had the DRIVE to become the best player he could be. it was a known fact shoyo was not at his 100% in high school and that is okay. tobio KNEW shoyo had so much more to give. the entire "you can fly even higher" scene is a testament to that. there are so MANY moments where tobio acknowledges shoyo’s skills. there’s even times where tobio is upset at shoyo because he has the ability to be amazing but just doesn’t know how to use his skills to his advantage.
just because tobio says hoshiumi is better than hinata does NOT mean tobio does not believe in him. the one thing that is constant in haikyuu is tobio’s faith in shoyo and shoyo’s faith in tobio.
post time skip kagehina is insane. WHAT DO YOU MEAN 2018 WINS??? keeping score since HIGH SCHOOL and through all the years they HAVEN’T BEEN TOGETHER??? THEY WAY THEY LOOK AT EACH OTHER??? they aren’t even trying to hide how much they want each other are you kidding me?? IN FRONT OF THE WORLD THEY LOOK AT EACH OTHER LIKE THEY ARE THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO EXIST!!! no one does it like them.

kagehina running together in official art always makes me so happy!! always running after each other, always one step behind the other, always working towards the same goal. running side by side as they become stronger together. NO LONGER ARE THEY RUNNING ALONE!! they chase their dreams knowing they will always have the other right next to them.
kagehina parallels always make me so emotional. their first set at karasuno vs the first set AT THE OLYMPICS. from two freshmen boys who discovered their first partner to two OLYMPIC PLAYERS dominating the game. they spent a few years apart, growing as individuals, only to come together and play like normal, as if all the time away never happened. KAGEHINA PRE TIMESKIP AND POST TIME SKIP ARE ALWAYS IN SYNC!! lifelong rivals and forever partners.

I always think of kagehina as dual protagonists. Hinata is obviously the main one and Tobio the deuteragonist but lately whenever there is new content furudate makes sure that each of them interact with the other characters respectively
like there will be a mention of hinata hanging out with his bestie kenma. While Kageyama consecutively would mention catching up with sugawara.
Shoyo would interact with atsm & oikw and then Tobio interact with atsuoi as well 😭 Hinata would mention natsu, then Tobio would also mention his family (although his is usually kinda bittersweet ? like them not being too involved in his vb careers but caring in their own way)
Idk where I’m going with this it’s just nice how frdt always think of them /together/ when it comes to the story ?????
