I'm practicing backgrounds

I just discovered how to make my own custom brushes in krita.

I also wanted to practice backgrounds and found this video on YouTube. It's actually pretty easy. Did this one in about two hours.

(and yes, I was too lazy to draw a character in. If you want, feel free to draw your character in 😄)

Edit: I just now realised that the shadows of the railings aligned perfectly next to each other. That was not intentional 😂

I made all the textures in substance painter and ibispaint

I really liked modeling and blocking out the room and the low poly version just has so much charm I can't not show it

this took me 57 hours of work in total

1 hour block out, 15 hours of modeling, and 41 hours of texturing

I made this for a school project and was super disappointed to realize my ref was ai everyone had to quickly pick one for this project in like 15 min and get it approved by the teacher, by the time I started working and realized it was ai it was too late I had already put like 10 hours into the project :"D lots of other people in the class also accidentally picked an ai reference it was quite the issue. Anyway I hope yall understand I hate my reference image and it was a pain to work off but here it is:

Summer Nights

Seems like our dear friend found her way to the beach! After a long day of playing in the sand and jumping around in the shore some peace and quiet is always welcomed. The sound of the waves, the smell of the breeze, the texture of the sand, the taste of salt in the air, the warm colors of the sunset-lit sky... So many things to appreciate. Things that oneself can easily take in, store away, and forget. Make sure you never forget those summer nights.

Ah, bye bye nice weather, welcome back infernal heat. I shall embrace you with open arms and think of the fact that you make summer break possible or something.

This was actually pretty fun to draw! I love clouds and how they work, so this was pretty much paradise for me. Water on the other hand... I don't know why I keep integrating it into my drawings, it's always such a pain and I end up with a "meh" feeling on it. Sadly, this one is no different, but I'm okay with that! I'll keep going until I really like my results! I did this to the best of my ability, and that's more than enough. <3

Ps: I am very frustrated over my clothing arrangements, as everything I have in my closet is either too warm or too easy to stain. Sigh

Sweet Spring

After months of traveling and wandering around, Eclipse has finally found a friend! Well- eh- technically. She's still just as excited though :)

As one season comes to an end (I know I know, I'm late) a new one begins to bloom. Let's see what's in store for us this spring! Ah, it is so nice to be able to go outside and not freeze to death.

I'll be completely honest. Drawing grass is a pain. And I didn't even do that many blades! It just somehow always look funky- NOT ONLY THAT, BUT WATER. Jesus. I'm not even going to say anything about water. (How the heck do I make it look like it's moving??)

Very happy with this though. It took a bit longer than my usual drawing time, as I kept having to re-do the reflection and the mountains because I didn't like the flower arrangements, but I'm glad the end product is nice! Not my best work, but I'm quite proud of it.

Winter wonderland

Winter's here! Who! So so chilly. I do like the scenery though! It's really really pretty.

I like drawing backgrounds, even though I know I'm not really that good at drawing them, but it's a lot of fun! And that's what matters. :)
