(Also does anyone know how to make the art smoother than the left one but not that blurry as the right one?? I think i still got the issue)

Bro its been a year how did my art change this much-

You know, I felt like revisiting some old art, and seeing how much I’ve grown over time. I’m actually pretty proud of how much I’ve managed to grow into my own style and abilities. 24th March 2023

I tried to make it look like a rendered style, though I can't figure out how to draw teeth, still

Bestie’s new and improved token art!! Here’s how it holds up against the old one:

Difference: six months of studying and practice!

Improvements:

Clothing folds

BEYOND insane colour palette improvement

Shading/rendering for the colour layer, including tiny dots in the shadows for depth

Experimenting with gradients on the lineart layer

Better idea of shape and direction - feet clearly flow out, hair is obviously curly

Joints that are built-in instead of being drawn onto normal legs last-minute

PROPORTIONS. I'm not sure how, but for this one it's very obvious Ollie has a small(er lol) body, and it would be easy to mistake them as a kid while wearing kidcore.

I was flipping though an old sketchbook and found some art from like, 5 ish? 6 ish years ago?

It was from a comics class i took at a nearby university during middle school. By itself it's not that interesting because it just kind of sucks. It's kind of impressive how much it sucks, because at the time it took me a full half an hour to make this.

This is a five minute sketch of the same character. It's not perfect, sure, of course it's not, I didn't use reference or think about it a whole lot, but it's still just so substantially better than the first one that it's insane. I look at these two things next to each other and I'm flabbergasted at seeing how much I've improved. I'm really proud of how far I've co.e in the past few years.

I saw the three new Pokemon starters and decided to draw them so here you go. I know that they are not that great but at least I have improved.

My Oc is named Avis! She is a first year in the UA hero course. Avis also has a twin sister who is also a first year in the support course. (Her sister is made by my actual sister)

I love it when it’s 4 am and you decide to redraw an entire sketchbook from December of 2019 in your new style 😁

I’ve come back to this piece several times throughout the year, mostly because the lighting just never looked good or right when I looked at it, but I’ve finally reached a point that I’m happy with it

I just did a redraw of an older drawing to get myself back into writing (it’s a teen titans x gravity falls fanfic, don’t judge me), and holy shit, what happened.

This is the original picture from December of 2020, I though this was the greatest thing at that time.

And this was completed March 31st of 2022. And I can’t stop staring at it, like what possessed me.

I think some of the biggest changes is in expression which I’m really happy about, because this is based of a scene in a later chapter, and in that scene he’s absolutely pissed. In the original he looks indifferent, emotionless almost, now you can tell he’s angry which I really like. I’ve definitely improved when it comes to lightning and shading. And the background looks so much better.
