culture appropriation: taking something from a culture that is not theirs and using it disrespectfully or mockingly to some extent.

culture appreciation: taking something from a culture that is not theirs and embracing it without using it in any form of disrespect.

there is a difference. although the line is very thin, and some might confuse the two. instead of cancelling/bashing someone immediately for doing something they genuinely think is cool or beautiful, educate them on the past history of the look.

wearing a hairstyle because they believe it looks cool and they want to embrace a culture that isn’t theirs is not and should not be categorized with blackface or anything as disrespect as that.

I'M SO UPSET

I'm so upset about the hate SM's potencial new boy group is receiving via the most toxic social media ever a.k.a. Twitter, so I'm gonna let it all out here. (For those who still haven't heard, apparently a new boy group will be launched with members of different boy bands -SHINee, EXO, NCT (and WayV)-).

To begin with, people should educate themselves before speaking. Let's begin with two facts only:

> SM isn't running out of money so cut the crap.

> This isn't the first group SM has made with different band members, so it's not a "desperate manoeuvre". Go check out their project groups, which happened during the 2nd gen with popular band members like Yunho, Jonghyun, Donghae, Kyuhyun, and even SNSD's Hyoyeon.

If you want another fact, here it comes: this groups is formed by some of the best artists SM has (just imagine all of them dancing on stage, please). So no, it won't flop.

But to be honest, I'm particularly happy about Ten. This may be a booster for his carreer since WayV isn't well promoted. (In my opinion, the rest of the members are already well known and they fucking deserve it). (Also, this comment was definitely a request for SM to promote the chinese group of the century a.k.a. WayV).

I know that not everthing is beautiful so I must admit that something worries me. I don't want this boys to have an even tighter schedule. They need to get some rest eventually and I'm not sure that being apart of another group will leave a nice margin to do so.

Also, there are other things SM should be taking care of like the much needed comebacks from f(x) and SJ-M, clarifying the future of NCT Dream and Zhou Mi, and taking care of their foreign artists a lot more. And I can think of many other things but you guys got me.
