oh my you will not believe it but i held something at arm's length and admired it.
So last week I tried moaning every time I ate something delicious.
It was vaguely uncomfortable and unnatural

please reblog so we can get a bigger sample size!
Before our last day show, the 2 board ops and I replaced the carpet for some reason, after the sound designer knighted me with a broom and the lighting designer talked about how magenta isn't even a real colour, it has to do with the cones in our eyes and how it's actually green but the green cones aren't stimulated. Read up on it, it's really interesting.
For the last show ever of this production, the actors had some fun with their lines, like in scene where an actor was supposed to say 'wow!' they said 'WHEE!' instead. For a scene where everyone had number cards, everyone turned them upside down. One of the characters gave me a bottle of hand sanitizer when i brought out a set piece. Overall, great way to end it, and the seniors graduating said a few words before the show.
During rehearsal last week, we got our projectionist, and this is their first show, so I was kinda giving them a rundown of how stage crew works, since they're also going to help with set construction.
Well, since our director wants the actors to do *exercises* while stage & tech DOES NOTHING I had a lot of time to explain that we don't usually sit around, just this show is taking longer than usual.
(I am actually genuinely concerned for this show as we haven't even started rehearsals yet and we're a month and a half in. The show is in late May.)
i tried to join a parent's night to learn more about coping mechanisms and actually TALK TO OTHER PEOPLE THAT KNOW MY DISABILITY but they told me I can't because I'm 'too young' and 'its for the parents only.'
I literally broke down crying on the Zoom call and even then they wouldn't let me in. I tried to somehow listen in to my mom's conversation, but that didn't work.
I swear...
i understand (and fully agree) that there needs to be support for friends and family of disabled people, they need help to understand and be able to better support their disabled loved one and themselves. i am not opposed to those resources existing. i am just so tired of looking for resources for myself, a disabled adult!, and only finding things for friends and family and carers *of adults*. why are all these classes and lectures only available to friends and family of adult disabled people? why are there so few resources for adult disabled people specifically? why, from the organization claiming to help disabled people, are only like a fourth (if that) of the resources aimed at adults actually available to disabled adults and not their close ones.
The smooth transition from regular scene to song
Baby John just being shoved on the swivel chair
'Tell it to the judge.' and the whisper of 'Get over there.'
Baby John just sitting in the chair, a little bored during the judge verse
the slide on the benches tho
and the lopsided glasses really sell the bit
Diesel saying 'I'm disturbed!' just so happily
Baby John looking scared for his life when they all pick him up, and then throw him
'The boy's depraved the the account he ain't at a normal home.' 'Hey, I'm depraved on account I'm deprived.'
and then the subsequent 'So take this nut to a headshrinker' 'Ooh, why not?'
the therapy chair transition is so good
'Ew, Diesel, you got a social disease?' 'Hey, wait, can I catch it by touching him?' *Proceeds to hold Diesel's hand in the next transition*
Baby John's verse is my favourite, especially how he sings 'It's not I'm anti-social, I'm only anti-work'
'This boy don't need a job he needs a year in the pen.' 'Okay.'
'The trouble is he's growing.' 'The trouble is he's grown.' HITS SO HARD I LOVE IT
'Gee, Officer Krupke, what are we to do?' omg the vocals for that are amazing 'Gee, Officer Krupke, KRUP YOU!'
