Shippuden Episode 499
From the beginning, Mercy was opposed to Overwatch’s militaristic ideals, goals, and ways of keeping the peace. For as long as she was a part of it she was at odds with her superiors/comrades and fought with them over their methods. But even at the risk of compromising her own morals, she chose to join and stay with Overwatch because she believed the organization gave her the opportunity to save more lives and help more people than she otherwise could.
Symmetra, as of her comic, is clearly shown to doubt Vishkar’s intentions and methods. She’s beginning to wonder if their goals and ideals really match up with her desire to help improve the lives of others, and actually disagrees with/disobeys them when it comes to harming anyone. But she has trouble believing Vishkar could be bad, so in spite of her doubts she stays and tries to convince herself that they are in fact making the world a better place.
So, while their situations are different–Angela joining Overwatch willingly in adulthood and Satya being taken in by Vishkar as a young child; Angela doing her own work since Overwatch has dissolved and Satya still being a member of Vishkar (for now at least)–they both are/were part of an organization with whom they don’t entirely agree, and stay(ed) with that group for the purpose of helping others as much as they can.
These two may not have any interactions with each other either in the lore or in-game, but I wish they did because they actually have a bit in common and definitely have the potential to get along!
