So I've been thinking...

After watching Transformers One with my mother, I noticed something about Orion and D-16. There's an inherent tragedy to their characters. Like we all know the tragedy that is D-16's rise into Megatron, but I notice we seldom ever talk about Orion's fall into Optimus. Hear me out. Orion's entire arc is about Choice. He wants to be able to be more than a miner, he wants to choose his path and continues to make choices that are against protocol. Each choice he makes causes harm to those around him: His choice to save Jazz inadvertently caused Elita to be fired and thrown to waste disposal, His choice to run the Iacon-5000 with D-16 winds up in himself and D to be thrown into sub-level 50 where no one even knows that it exists, His choice to find the matrix on the surface winds up putting his friends into danger, them realizing their life was a lie, and starts D-16's full crash-out. Now these choices are both good and bad ones, I'm not going to deny that, but it does end up shifting on him and mirroring how D-16 goes from complacency to making his own choices. Each choice D makes, robs Orion of a choice as well.. just as Orion's choices often did the same. And what's worse is that after D-16 kills Orion and sends him off into the planet's core, he has effectively robbed Orion of any choice in the future. While D-16 gets to choose to kill Sentinel, gets to choose to take Megatronus' cog back, gets to choose a new name for himself... Orion gets none of these choices. Orion didn't choose to be shot by his best friend, he didn't choose to fall into the core of the planet, he didn't get the choice to accept or refuse the matrix of leadership, and he didn't even get to choose his name. Orion has been thrust into this duty, this responsibility. He has no choice in the matter. Optimus had no say in who he wanted to be, but he does choose something else. He chooses to fight for others to have that choice, and I think that's something neat. Anyways! Blah right? Haha, just another everyday ramble. Goodnight folks!!

I hope..

I hope in every life I lead, my mother is still my mom.. I hope in every life, she's happy and thriving. I hope my sisters find their special ones, that they lead comfortable lives. I hope every child I meet faces nothing but joy, I hope the lives I learn of make it to old age, I hope that every good person sleeps in a warm bed, with a good meal, and happy dreams. I hope one day indigenous people are treated better. I hope we learn more of their stories in the future. I hope they return to their lands and show us how to care for it. I hope one day we look upon our ancestors and are proud to say we're genuinely learning from their mistakes. I hope the rapists cower, that racists become afraid again, that every single predator and groomer learns to fear their victims. But hope can only get so far, so I scream until I'm hoarse, pause for a drink, then scream again even louder until the messages are heard. Free Palestine, Free Congo, Free Sudan, Return the lands, Eat the rich, Fuck Racists, Fuck Zionists, Fuck Nazis, Fuck greedy capitalists and billionaires. Learn from history or be doomed to repeat it.

To be a King means to drown in the blood of your people.

To be a Soldier means to drown in the blood of your comrades.

And to be a Poet means to drown in your own blood.

I have done all three, my hands have never once been clean.

A little piece I made because I couldn’t get the imagery of Starscream standing in a pool of energon out of my head haha. I feel as though I could have done better tho so maybe I’ll redraw it again sometime in the future haha!

Awww seeing Starscream looking so happy, it warms my heart!! Look at him making friends!!!

So while I've been writing my Eddsworld band au, I saw some old SU clips and pumped out this one-shot. I promise I'm almost done with the first chapter of that band au.

So Shattered Glass is a thing for Transformers, who doesn’t love a good old alternate universe where the bad guys are good and vice versa.

And the color pallets don’t need to be the same thing either! We get some nice different color schemes that fit the characters new personalities!

We got Starscream, his colors being swapped out for Sky/Jetfire’s colors very nice very nice! It’s also very fitting with his character, it’s simple and sleek just like him!

Next is Skywarp! Also very nice! It feels a lot like a slightly darker Thundercracker color scheme, it’s dark but not dark compared to his original design. I like it! Very nice!

Now what about Thundercracker? Surely after two banger designs, the third member of this iconic trine would get a color scheme as good as these tw-!

……. Thundercracker…. What have they done?

Seriously! The poor boy looks like they threw every gaudy color at him! It doesn’t even feel coherent! It’s how I would have colored an OC back when I was 5…

This boy needed some help, I ranted about this to both friends and family, how Thundercracker was robbed of a good color swap and also THEY KEPT HIS OPTICS RED!! Every other Decepticon with red optics had theirs changed to blue! And sure! The 2021 comic made his blue, but now his optics just blend into his blue face and every other promotional image I’ve seen of him he has red optics! Ughhhh

With this rant in my head refusing to let me sleep, I challenged myself. I drew Thundercracker twice. One version was that I kept the same colors as his current design and try to see if I could make it more appealing to my tastes, the second version was what I would have chosen if I had been in charge of Thundercracker’s SG coloration.

Keep in mind though, I had colored these in with copic markers, so the colors may not be accurate for the first version.

So yeah! That’s my take on SG! Thundercracker. I know that it’s a weird thing to get upset about, I just can’t stand poor Thundercracker being done dirty by such a gaudy color scheme. If you like his original color scheme for SG then more power to you! It was just not my cup of tea.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is why I'm pro-nuclear reactors. Seriously, stop bringing up Fukushima and Chernobyl for reasons why we should demonize this energy source. Accept the problem is the coal and fossil fuels and start replacing them with nuclear reactors, solar panels, hydropower plant, and wind turbines. Stop letting these freak accidents scare you into avoiding nuclear as an option because nowadays with the safeguards we have in place at modern-day reactors, the chances of a disastrous meltdown happening like that are so astronomically low that it may as well be zero. You want clean energy? Go nuclear and maybe we might actually have the chance to reverse some of the damage we have brought upon the planet we live on.
