It‘s the Iron Cross, (the first military decoration awarded to soldiers of all ranks) in Prussia since dam Napoleonic wars. So it‘s not a nzi symbol just because nzis used it MUCH LATER

Look up images of Prussian generals of franco prussian war for reference and..bam, they wear the iron cross the way Gil wears it

(Tho what you‘ve drawn resembles a Balkenkreuz more, which is a simplified version of iron cross)
