I’m taking this as a sign from the universe to no longer sell my fancomics. I’ve taken both “Naruto: The Last King, The Last Priest” and “Therapist R. J. Hill” off my etsy store. Both comics can be read, in their entirety, on this tumblr.
I intend to order new prints of my original comics (with updated color covers) and get back to selling hard copies of my own work.
I resisted the urge to send a PDF of “Air Pirate Funnies.”
So I’ve scanned the pages of my risographed fashion study zine (you can buy that here)

This piece came about as an attempt to visually depict how I experience music. Possibly due to my Autism, I do not seem to listen to/experience music the way other people I have discussed this topic with experience music. I recognize that there is an underlying meter, a rhythm, a beat, that allows a person to "follow the music;" the beat is also what people follow when they dance. I can force myself to identify and follow a beat, but it requires significant concentration on my part, is not what comes naturally to me, and is not how I enjoy listening to music. My attention often skips back and forth between different sounds, following the bass sounds for several moments because I enjoy that specific section, then switching focus to the crescendo of a violin, to the sound of the singer's voice, the drums, back to violin, bass, voice, a new sound.
By connecting colors, patterns, and material to specific aspects of a musical piece, I have attempted to create a depiction of my experience of the music.
(I also decided to leave the edges of the different photos I took, to give an impression of the number of images needed to create a decent representation of this weaving.)

maskedjoker replied to your photoset: I really hope this is a joke. I don’t think it’s a very good message for men to clean better by saying “women deserve better” I mean seriously. Again, if it’s truly only a joke and not at all serious fine. But if it isnt. This particular chapter is meant somewhat facetiously. I mean, the most important thing I learned since going on testosterone was not that people with hairy butts need to wipe more; I’ve learned and realized far more important things.
That said... I don’t see how “men should clean their asses for the good of the world and the comfort of their partners” is not a good message.
So I'm a huge nerd and I made a huge playlist of songs that give me feels about being transgender and queer. I take my playlists very seriously and put a ridiculous amount of time and effort into choosing and arranging the songs.
Warning -- some of these songs contain lyrics that have sexual content, violent content, mentions of sexual abuse, and content that may trigger dysphoria. Also, some of these bands or musicians have done some shitty things, and while I like their work, I don't approve of what they've done (Amanda Palmer, The Sex Pistols, Glen Danzig, Die Antwoord, I'm looking at you).
Listen to it here: Monster Queer

I think it’s valuable to see artists’ unfinished/process work. It helps to show the amount of work that goes into art-making, and it helps other artists to remember that not every thing you do is a finished product and that’s okay.
I still remember seeing Gustav Klimt’s sketches for the first time and how reassuring it was to see that he also scribbled over faces and figures when they didn’t work out lol.

Second study, using heavy body acrylics this time.
So far I like the opacity, but I prefer how smooth the open acrylics feel and that they stay wet on the palette for longer.
I’m trying to move away from my natural inclination towards fussy details and get more of the big strokes that you see in Uglow, Saville, and Freud.
Three figure drawings, circa 2009 before I dashed my parents hopes by saying "I wanna quit art school, get a bachelor's in psychology, become a counselor with a focus on art therapy, and also I'm queer as fuck."

You mentioned in your commentary that you read some articles comparing the Simpsons and Family Guy. Would you mind recommending your favorites?
Sorry it’s taken me so long to respond! Here are some links to some criticism that I feel is well-written and relevant.
