Okay I have a question
This might be a dumb question
But
How do I plot.
I mean the only way I know to plot is like okayy character A does this and then this happens and then it's solved.
how do we come up with the ...STUFF that happens in between the stuff that's suppose to happen. (Maybe all I have to do is sit down and think but I can't seem to do that)
So, Iβve seen a lot of advice about plotting that basically boils down to βwrite down the plot of your bookβ but Iβve always found that to be a bit vague. Plotting really isnβt that intimidating once you figure out a method for it but if youβre starting from scratch, it can definitely be a daunting process.
Now, my personal way of doing this is by making a PowerPoint. I treat it like Iβm crafting a presentation for a class. I give lots of historical context to my setting, mention cultural things that might be relevant. Basically, I just make a slideshow that I can refer back to when Iβve lost track of some of my worldbuilding.
Depending on your setting, this process might be more or less extensive. For instance, if you were writing in the present day in whatever setting you live in, you might only need to keep track of the dates and times that your book is taking place in. If you were writing in whatever setting you live in but twenty years ago, it might be a little more extensive, as you would probably want to keep track of things like major events, more local events, what technology was widely available, the cost of things, etc.. This part of plotting is especially useful for any science fiction or fantasy writing, as it can be a great format to keep track of different magic systems and other settings that are useful lore in your setting.
Coming up with characters is definitely most writersβ favorite part of starting a new story. Not only does it usually come pretty naturally, the characters tend to shape the world around them as you build their personalities and backstories up. Donβt let them run away with your world, though. It can be really easy to justify making worldbuilding things that suit your characters really well, but remember, youβre trying to create a convincing setting as well as interesting people within that setting. There are always going to be aspects of the world that work against your characters interests, as well as parts that they just donβt really care about.
Ultimately, I recommend making a folder for each main character you have. Include vignettes written about them/from their perspective. Add drawings and playlists! Have fun with it! As long as you make some kind of documentation of who they are/where they came from/where you think they want to go/where you think their part in the story will be, youβre going to get the hang of writing ABOUT them, which is the point.
A lot of whatβs difficult about plotting is that you donβt always know what you want the story to be. Even if you do know what you want to happen, you donβt always know how to make it happen. This is why I format this process like a flow chart or in bullet points. You want to find the βproblemβ at the center of your plot.
Obviously, in your story, things happen. But what things? And why? But more specifically why here? Why now? Why these characters? Why in this place? Itβs important to figure out not only what happens in your book but why that is what MUST happen. There has to be some inescapable force driving your plot forward (the desires of a character, the plans of the antagonist, global events, some sort of deadline) or else it will not feel like it is moving forward on its own, rather you will likely find it is very hard to βmakeβ your characters do what you need them to. (Another piece of advice: if you feel like youβre having to force a scene to fit in a certain place in the plot, thatβs because it doesnβt have anything thatβs pushing it to happen right there and right then.)
This part does take a lot of writing (more journal style writing, rather than writing vignettes) but it is SO helpful when you actually start your first draft.
If you want, I can totally go more in depth about how to organize a flow chart or how I organize my billet points. I just omitted them because this post is already pretty long. I hope this is helpful! Sorry it took me so long to get to this ask.
Good luck and happy writing!

hawks who's favorite past time is laying his head on your thighs and having you play with his hair. exhausted from a day full of hero nonsense that was a complete afterthought the second he's landing on the balcony of your apartment, pulling the sliding glass door open and stepping into the cozy space you two call home. shrugging off piece by piece of his hero costume as they're laid strewn about in the path he takes to the bedroom where you were sitting up in bed. keigo's muscle visibly relax just from the sight of his gorgeous girlfriend, his wings lax and unfolded from his back, and he doesn't say anything as he's falling on the bed. making his way to you on the comfortable spacious mattress before his head is snuggling against your stomach and he releases one deep exhale. making a pleasant sound the second your hand threads through his wind swept, wheat blond locks after pulling the covers up and over his body. you're the only one who gets to see this side of him, the relaxed and comfortable version of himself. the real keigo, whom wouldn't trade you β the love of his life β for the world.

Hi, you reblogged a scam from fullbarbarianblaze, who is promoting a donation scam. They have had this scam running for a very long time, and this link leads to a post with the trail of all the usernames they've used to run this scam, starting with their header name, vero-og. https://www.tumblr.com/kyra45/740721061635768321?source=share
It has been going on for months, meaning that their story of constantly needing "just $370" for insulin is dishonest. Their PayPal name is "Sophia Magubo" which is not a Native American name, but an East African one. (This PayPal account has also been consistent through all of these blogs they've held.) Since they apparently live in the U.S., they should know by now that the price of insulin was capped at $35/pen, meaning that even if they were unable to buy a single unit, a full box of pens (3) would cost $105 plus tax.
Their insulin reading photo shows a 592, which could not last for months on end. Typically a reading of 592 is severe and would warrant a hospital visit if they were out of insulin. It could lead to a coma or death, not waiting idly by for days, hoping for tumblr users to donate to your PayPal.
Please, before interacting with a donation request, check their blog. Do searches of the text username through the tumblr search engine or reverse image search their photos, as some users have compiled scam lists. (e.g. kyra45, anonthescambuster, azalea-alter) Many donation requests are honest, but there are plenty of repeat scammers who are taking advantage of people's sympathy and generosity.
If you are interested in supporting a family whose fundraiser has been through a vetting process and is in danger of being killed in Gaza, please replace your post from fullbarbarianblaze with a post supporting @/nesmamomen. If you have any questions about how to determine the legitimacy of a donation ask, feel free to contact me through DMs or askbox.
Thanks for the info
It's with a heavy but hopeful heart that I watch Palestinian families fundraiser on here, slowly accumulating the precious little money to go around that they need to survive. However, not everyone is so lucky. A lot of Palestinians that have not had that kind of luck, that did not get early verification, that did not get massive platforms behind them from large bloggers, have approached me in my inbox, asking me kindly to do what I can for them. It kills me that I have so little to give myself, but I've seen this platform collectively raise enough to change someone's life. I've made a list of Palestinian fundraisers that are extremely low on funds, in the hope that drawing attention to people who have not been lucky at all can help turn that luck around. I know most of us can't possibly give enough to get all of these families safe in one go. But please, reblog this list. Pick one or two fundraisers, give what you can, and then keep track of it. Slowly, collectively, we can make a difference in these people's lives. Share and donate as much as you can. https://docs.google.com/document/d/178EGDFKkHlh3y4TMVX82kqgITHsqtoMdNccI2f_94Os/edit?usp=sharing
Iβve seen mystery/thriller authors use the same handful of red herrings too many times to count. So here are some (hopefully not as common) red herrings for your writing.Β
Your narrator can play favourites and scheme and twist the way your readers interpret the story. Use this to your advantage! A character portrayed as untrustworthy can really be someone innocent the narrator framed, vice versa.Β
A character with a history of betrayal or questionable loyalty is an obvious suspect. They did it once, they could do it again, right? Wrong! Theyβve actually changed and the real traitor is someone you trusted.Β
An expertβlike a detective, scientist, or historianβanalyses a piece of evidence. Theyβre ultimately wrong, either due to bias, missing data, or pressure to provide quick answers.
You know that one sidekick or ally whoβs somehow always ahead of the curve? Theyβre just really knowledgeable, your characters know this, but it makes it hard to trust them. Perfection is suspicious! But in this case, theyβre actually just perfect.Β
Maybe one of your characters is seen crying, angry, or suspiciously happy after xyz event. Characters suspect them, but turns out theyβre just having a personal issue. (People have lives outside of yours MC smh). Or it could be a cover-up.Β
At first this characterβs alibi seems perfect but once the protag digs into it, it has a major hole/lie. Maybe they were in a different location or the person they claimed to be with was out of town.Β
Have a seemingly significant patternβsymbols left at crime scenes, items stolen in a specific order, crimes on specific dates. Then make it deliberately planted to mislead.
A character was secretly close to a victim/suspect, making them a suspect. Turns out they were hiding a completely unrelated secret; an affair, hidden family connection, etc.
Create a grudge or past feud and use it to cast suspicion on an innocent character. Introducing an aspect of their past also helps flesh out their character and dynamics as a group + plant distrust.Β
Luke Castellan, need I say more (I will)? A supposedly innocent character dies, but turns out they faked it and were never a victim in the first place. They just needed to be out of the picture.Β
A character overhears a threat, argument, etc. They suspect B based on this convo, but turns out they just came to a false conclusion. (Or did they?)
Someone confesses to hearing/seeing a clue, but turns out they were mistaken. Maybe they thought they heard a certain ringtone, or saw xyz which C always wears, but their memory was faulty or influenced by stress.

characters: Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Ace
cw: jealousy (is that supposed to be a warning??), probably ooc, cringe, not proofread, probably contains grammar mistakes, english isn't my first language!!
(a/n): This is like, my first time writing for one piece characters specificallyπ I'm barely in Alabasta but I cannot wait until I finish one piece so that I can write for itπ ACE IS A NEED UGH -> m.list
β requests are open!!
Luffy doesn't understand jealousy at first and will simply blurt out "Why are you talking to him so much?" without realizing it sounds possessive.
Believe it or not, he can get VERY possessive. You're pretty much just as valuable as his hat, you're his treasure.
That's right, his treasure.
So then, why are you talking to that donkey faced man? He's so ugly, why would you even bother wasting your breath speaking to him?
He'll cling to you like glue, throwing an arm around your shoulders or holding your hand tightly while pouting.
When Luffy's jealous he starts getting loud, making exaggerated jokes or showing off just to grab your attention.
Complains to the rest of the crew (probably Usopp or Nami), asking things like "Why does she want to talk to him when I'm right here?"
He completely interrupts your conversation with the other person by inserting himself, I just kinda feel like he'd do that.
WILL demand you sit next to him at meals and get grumpy if you sit by someone else.
He can't stay mad for long, the SECOND you give him attention, he lights up again as if nothing happened.
If the other person makes you laugh, he'll immediately try to one up them by doing something goofy, trust me, I know
He will casually lean on you or put his hat on your head as a possessive gesture (LUFFY THE MAN YOU ARE)
He's so childish
Zoro acts nonchalant but is secretly FUMING inside when someone gets too close to you.
Glares daggers at the other person, making them incredibly uncomfortable without saying a word, he's just like that
Crosses his arms and stands near you as if silently asserting dominance (ugh I need him)
He gets extra grumpy with Sanji or anyone else he sees as competition, throwing insults their way.
He physically can't hide his annoyance and mutters things under his breath like "Tch, what's so interesting about him?"
If you laugh at someone else's joke he's gonna be like "It wasn't that funny."
I feel like he gets jealous if someone compliments you, but instead of complimenting you himself, he'll grumble like "You don't need to hear that from him."
WILL position himself between you and the other person, silently blocking them from getting closer.
I think he lowkey gets clingy after cooling down his jealousy, sticking close to you but pretending it's no big deal.
When you reassure him, he'll pretend it didnβt bother him, saying stuff like "Whatever, it's not like I cared." But deep down, he's RELIEVED.
Lord have mercy
Sanji gets visibly jealous and is UNABLE to hide it with his dramatic reactions
He definitely calls the other person out immediately, saying things like "Why are you bothering her, huh?"
He tries to pull your attention back to him by showering you with compliments and affection.
He starts offering to cook your favorite dishes after that, just to make himself seem more worthy than moss head over there
If the other person is flirting, Sanji will step in and sweet talk to you SO passionately it makes the other person back off (simp power??)
He dramatically smokes while muttering "How could she look at someone else when I'm right here..."
Tries to outdo the other person in everything, just to show he's better
WILL ask you "Do you think he's better than me?" with puppy dog eyes
100% gets extremely competitive with Zoro (if it's him you're giving attention to) insulting him while trying to impress you
When reassured, he's back to his usual lovestruck self and saying "I knew you couldn't resist me, my angel!"
Sanji just wants to feel like he's your number one, and your affection always melts his jealousy away.
MY MAN UGHH
HE'S THE REASON I STARTED ONE PIECE IN THE FIRST PLACE
Anywayss
Ace tries to play it cool, but his temper makes his jealousy pretty obvious.
If someone flirts with you, he'll casually throw an arm around your shoulders and say "She's taken, by the way."
Speaking of throwing, he definitely picks you up and completely THROWS you over his shoulder. It doesn't matter how tall you are or how much you weigh, he ALWAYS manhandles you.
His freckles make it easy to spot when he's blushing out of jealousy or frustration (UGHπ«)
He gets restless and starts fidgeting, for example bouncing his leg while watching you talk to someone else (is that my seat right there?)
Stares at the person with a smirk that doesn't quite hide his irritation, daring them to push their luck (you know that one scene in Alabasta where that giant scorpion was in front of him and Ace was like "I wouldn't if I were you" or something like that? Yeah, that's rightπ€)
If someone compliments you, he'll immediately agree and add "Yeah, but I noticed that first."
UGH KICKING MY FEETπ£
Can get surprisingly moody, muttering things like "What's so special about him, anyway?"
Might act a little childish, poking fun at the other person
WILL casually flex his strength or abilities if he feels the need to, like lighting a flame in his hand and saying "Bet he can't do this huh?"
If you reassure him or show him affection, he'll relax immediately, grinning and saying something like "Yeah, I knew you couldn't resist me."
And he's smirking at you with that stupid handsome face (I need himπ¨)
