Set post-GT. Drawn ‘cause I was wondering what Goten might have felt, considering his dad had up and left again after one last adventure with Trunks of all people.

(Honestly, I just wanted these two old friends to finally talk to each other again.)

I really loved Trunks and Goten’s friendship as a kid! Seeing them drift apart in GT made me sad…

I wonder if Trunks missed him, out there in space?

Iruka coughed. “No,” he said. The food had gone the wrong way.

“Oh.” Naruto always held his ramen like someone was going to take it from him. “Okay.”

“Naruto,” Iruka said. “I got this old thing way before then. I promise.”

“Okay.” Naruto stirred the broth, chasing a stray noodle. “I always wondered, is all. If it was me, I mean. The Nine Tails.”

“It wasn’t.” Iruka put down his chopsticks. He licked his lips, and then dabbed himself with a napkin. “It was, um. Mizuki.”

Naruto’s eyebrows furled. “Who?”

“Mizuki,” Iruka repeated. “Mizuki-sensei.“

“Oh. Oh! That guy.” Naruto frowned. “That’s right. You were friends.”

Iruka sighed. “Best friends.”

Gohan at the end of Cell Saga is one insanely powerful boy. He had enough power to destroy the earth…after already being drop dead exhausted. He’s sensitive enough that it probably gives him major anxiety to have all that raw strength, that he can’t control when he’s having a nightmare or suffering a flashback.

Enter Dende!! It’s my headcanon they were quite close for a few years after Cell Games, as Dende navigated how to be Kami and Gohan navigated how to be Human. I like to think they helped each other become better people, even if they drifted apart as adults… :’)

I was re-reading naruto and stumbled upon the leaf-on-your-forehead exercise and then I thought about Tobirama’s childhood and here we are XD

Tobirama is a natural chakra sensor so it was probably really distracting to have powerhouse Hashirama at his side… and yes, this is the first time Hashirama performed the mokuton :3
