I am very saddened by this. I hope new leaders will emerge and continue his fight.
Silverman was found hanging in the garage of his own home in northeast Calgary, where he had run the Men’s Alternative Safe House (MASH). He had just sold the property because he could no longer afford to operate the shelter . He had paid for the shelter out of his own pocket, but could not raise enough money from either government or private donations. The shelter accommodated about 20 men and some children while it was open. In a four-page suicide note, Silverman blamed the government for failing to recognize male victims of domestic abuse and for not providing enough services to help those in need of. MASH was not recognized by any government agency, . Silverman unsuccessfully lobbied both the provincial and federal governments to provide more funding for his various projects aimed at helping victims like himself. Silverman had fled an abusive relationship with his wife 20 years ago, an experience which led him to become involved in the men’s rights.“When I went into the community looking for some support services, I couldn’t find any. There were a lot for women, and the only programs for men were for anger management. EQUAL RESOURCES FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIMS NEEDS TO HAPPEN NOW.
Vice is one of the trashiest sites out there...complete garbage.
What "special right" ? To not be killed? I'm pretty sure pro lifers advocate equality too.
Isn’t it ironic that dead people have more rights than a living (developing) human being?
At this point you can't fucking convince me that y'all are not misappropriating our culture for profit. You don't give a shit about it, as long as you feel catered to with a fake-touristy version of it. Greeks can give you art, consultation and knowledge but you refuse to work with us. God forbid some pennies eventually go to Greeks from a Greek mythology production.
A sincere "fuck you" to Nolan and everyone who applauds this decision. You all hypocrites to say the least.

This is NOT a SessRin opening! Many people are saying that, in this new op, SessRin is compared to InuKag, but I don’t think so. If you see this succession of scenes carefully, you will realize that, while in Moroha’s scene, the background images are all of Inuyasha and Kagome, in the part where Towa and Setsuna appear, we see scenes that show Sesshoumaru’s development as a character and his growth as a person in relation to other characters like Kagura and Kohaku. They are not just images of Sesshoumaru and Rin:
In the first part, we see Sesshoumaru’s scene in which he remembers Kagura’s death and says that he will be the one to decide if she died for nothing. It is interesting that here we see the empty stairways; an empty place that a person should be occupying, but I don’t think it’s Rin because she’s already in the background. Giving us this scene of Sesshoumaru thinking about Kagura reminds us of how important she was to him and his development as a character.
Then we have two background images. The first is from Rin when she is a child. This makes sense since we all know that she was also very important to Sesshoumaru’s growth, but in the following image something caught my attention: Sesshoumaru is holding Tenseiga and the moon is behind him. This scene is from Chapter 20, when Inuyasha, Kagome and Sango are fighting against Naraku who wants to get the fragment that Kohaku has. At one point Kohaku is captured but the one who saves him is none other than Sesshoumaru. This scene in the opening is Sesshoumaru saving Kohaku. And I love that, because they are indicating how important their relationship is as well. I also find it interesting that just at the moment when Sesshoumaru’s biological daughters appear, Sunrise decides to show two images related to the two human children he cared for. Could that be indicating that they position Kohaku and Rin as his children as well?
Then we have an image that at first glance, seems to be only about Sesshoumaru and Rin, but specifically is when Sesshoumaru decides to save the souls that are in hell. That also shows the growth Sesshoumaru has experienced, deciding to save many human souls. Finally, the last scene here is from when Sesshoumaru obtains Bakusaiga, putting aside his grudge and pursuit of his father’s power and thus acquiring his own sword. In conclusion, I don’t think this opening is trying to validate SessRin, instead, I think it shows the growth process that Sesshoumaru has had.
Cover illustration for a magazine called “Metro Guide” being distributed thought metro stations in Tokyo from September 2017. Number of copies: around 1 000 000.
This edition is autumn themed so I tried to make my illustration fit the contents with the colors and atmosphere. I used the Jindaiji temple and the shops that surround it as an inspiration for the setting.

This trope is getting old
Ok, I read a preview of this month's Vader issue and I am so confused.... Why the hell is Tarkin hunting Vader? He wants to put him on a trophy shelf?
I had the same knee-jerk reaction but it was mostly directed at Rin. Like, I started disliking her because her character seemed too naive and blindly worshipping Sesshomaru, but then I realised she’s a CHILD. Of course she’d be naive and trusting, and it’s not the character’s fault her innocence is being misinterpreted. Call out s3ssrins, call out Sunrise if it comes to that. Rin and Sesshoumaru are just moving pictures.
Honestly with all this drama going on it’s starting to make me dislike Sesshomaru. I love his character I always saw him as a protector to Rin. So I was confused when they started pairing him with her. I’m really going to be upset if they paried Sesshomaru with Rin. It’s going to make me completely dislike him.
I understand. It can be difficult to maintain your own opinions when being flooded and overwhelmed with the opinions of others. It's at times like these that I recommend taking a break from fandom so you can re-establish your own views on a work or character. What was it that you liked about Sesshoumaru in the first place? Why did you identify with/empathize with/ get drawn to him? What personal meaning do you associate with him?
Sometimes keeping the invading over-inflated opinions of others (including Sunrise) at bay means retreating for a while so you can rediscover why you started to love something to begin with. That's the part you get to keep even when everyone else wants to fight over their different interpretations. You built that, and no one in the fandom or production/creation of your favorite things can take that away from you. It isn't easy to abandon either, being a part of you, so if you do ultimately change your mind and begin to hate Sesshoumaru, I hope it's because YOU decided he wasn't going to be a favorite anymore, and not because someone ELSE influenced you.
Good luck, querent.
