Ariadne and Dionysus as parents headcannons?

Ahh 🤩 anon my favourite types of headcanons! Where to begin:

Okay so first i have the idea of Ariadne being terrified of being a mother (especially when she first became pregnant) and honestly who could blame her? Imagine her for years seeing her parents mistakes. First his father's infidelity, her mother's jealousy, then a sibling that turned her family upside down. Worse she had to watch every year innocents become her brother's sacrifice

Thankfully Dionysus would always prove to her how loyal and supportive he would be to her. Pain? He immediately requests Apollo or Hermes. Walking around? No he carries her. Hungry? Here's a buffet to fill a king. He would always want her to be comfortable and not have any issues or pain

After the first kid was born Dionysus would definitely be so emotional holding his son in his arms. Imagine him holding a sleepy newborn and Ariadne is exhausted but so happy i think Dionysus seeing both of them well and healthy would make him emotional with tears of joy (especially knowing his own past with his mother and him)

Oh their sons would never get bored that's for sure! Dionysus would know how to entertain the kids and Ariadne as well would always try new tricks to show to her kids. Especially with them moving so much their kids would see new places and the festives would be endless for the whole family to enjoy

So. Many. Pranks 😨 poor Ariadne had to deal with an army of men in her family from their scandals

Both would want to make sure nothing is missing from their kids lives and would provide them everything. Of course the Maenads and Satyrs would help raise the kids as well

They always however gave them freedom to do whatever they wanted in their lives. If it's something to know from them as parents is that they disliked being confined or controlled by their family.

But also it was bittersweet despite the many children and later their grandchildren they knew it wouldn't last. Both were immortal but all their kids would eventually wither so they would always support their kid's paths and be grateful for being in their lives.

Bonus some of their sons being important in the myths:

Oenopion: Became king of Chios and introduced winemaking to the island, later blinded the giant Orion.

Staphylus: Associated with grapes and fertility; fathered children linked to Apollo’s myth and Trojan prophecy.

Thoas: Became king of Lemnos; father of Hypsipyle, whose sons with Jason connected his line to the Argonauts.

aphrodite is the smell of rose petals and your newest fragrance. she is the smell of the fog after a nights rain and the odour given off while romantic sex is taking place. she is the taste of your lovers lips and the feeling of your own skin after a shower. she is the butterflies in your stomach, and always has your name on the tip of her tongue. she is the one who sends you your next relationship and ends the bad ones. 

poseidon is the smell of the moist air as the water rolls over the rocks near a lake. he is the smell of the mud in a play ground and the scent of your newest body wash. he’s the one who stares back at you as you stare beyond the horizon of the sea. he is the feeling you get when you jump into a pool after being in a hot tub or sauna. 

apollo is the smell of breakfast cooking in the morning and wet wood. he is the split second of pain in your eyes from the light after being in the dark for long periods. he is the summers day spent at a park, and the excitement of remembering lyrics of your new favourite song.

artemis is the natural smell of your hair. she is both the smell of bark on a tree and your fingers after picking up a wet rock. she gives you grass stains on your pants, and blows your hair in the wind. she finds your favourite places to go and guards your place to sit. 

ares is the smell of your sweat. he smells like sand and is the scent of your father. he feels like slate and the pain of a bruise. he is the one who pushes you that one extra step, and forces you to lose your cool.

zeus smells like fire. he smells like the cold wind and your freshly washed sheets. he is the one who makes your heart pound and is the one who triggers your anxieties. he is the booming of loud music and the cracking of the floor boards at night. he watches you as you walk home in the rain.
