BC I NEED TO RANT (warning: long post ahead)

You wanna know why ARMYs are so annoying???? Let me tell your salty asses something. BTS’ success is a monumental feat other artists can only dream of achieving. Many of the most popular Kpop acts right now come from relatively large companies who have other well-known artists to help catch the eye of the public – BTS didn’t have that luxury. They came from a management so small and unknown that they had to use staff as extras in music videos because they couldn’t afford to hire real actors to play miniscule roles. They debuted at a time where no one gave a single flying fuck about their existence and pretty much everyone thought they would be lucky if they lasted a year or two. Also, the boys were so poor that the 7 of them lived together in a tiny ass apartment where one member constantly had to borrow his mom’s kitchen supplies for cooking because they struggled to afford going out to eat or even simple shit like ramen.

Other Kpop groups get famous simply because of the company they come from, but since BTS’ management didn’t house other famous artists, they really had to rely on their talent to propel themselves to fame. Kpop is no doubt a highly manufactured industry and I get why there are so many criticisms towards it because so many groups are literally robots who just do whatever their company tells them to do. It’s very uncommon for artists to write/produce their own music, but BTS is one of the very few musicians in the business who are heavily involved in the creation process of each track of every album. Not only that, but the songs they write and produce aren’t just restricted to love; from the faults in the education system and consumer culture, to female empowerment, to mental health, the struggles of youth and loss, BTS has written several socially conscious lyrics and are never afraid to tackle important topics that aren’t discussed enough within the public.

Along with their hard work in the creation process (including the immense time and effort they put into perfecting their intricate choreography), they are just genuinely kind and humble boys who are incredibly passionate and have a bond that can only be described as brotherly. BTS have and continue to be involved in various charitable organizations, most recently they partnered with UNICEF and created the #LoveMyself campaign to help put an end to violence. However, BTS is known for always, literally A L W A Y S, staying connected to their fans even though it would be in their best interest to keep their personal lives private. Yes, some people in this fandom are genuinely crazy and unfortunately BTS has encountered “fans” who have no self-control and respect for other people’s personal space. Despite that, though, the boys still regularly interact with fans through social media and they always find a way to tell ARMYs that they love us and are forever grateful for our support – a claim in which they never fail to prove. Almost every interviewer in America has asked the boys to discuss the most insane things their fans have done to them, but each and every time they continue to reinforce the fact that unlike what many people may think, we aren’t all your average teenage girls whose only dream is to marry them someday; they always make sure to put reporters in their place and they continuously defend us even when they’ve had various unfavorable experiences in the past. Even in person BTS are all extremely kind and respectful: from fans who’ve had the chance to meet them outside of their schedules to people who have actually worked with/for them, literally no one has anything bad to say about the group other than antis or people who are too ignorant to look into them.

And finally BTS is just a group of stupid idiots who have a bond closer than family. Each of them is a meme in their own right (some more than others lmao), but on a more serious note, they each have a distinct bond with one another that it’s hard not to get emotional because their friendship is truly genuine. They constantly praise one another, celebrate each other’s flaws rather than degrading them, and even when they’re on their separate vacations they always talk about how much they miss each other and how much they feel lonely when the other boys aren’t around. Let’s also not ignore the fact that the older 6 members!!!!literally!!!!raised!!!!!Jungkook (the youngest) from a shy, insecure 15 year old into the playful and confident adult he is today. On numerous occasions, each of the boys have said that BTS saved them and they can’t imagine spending every single day with any other group of people. They’ve been with each other through loss, depression, the brink of disbandment, through everyfuckingthing you can think of and while there have obviously been hardships, their bond has only grown stronger as a result.

Each of them have grown immensely and overcome various obstacles both as a group and individually. They’re set apart through the fact that they each possess different personalities and different concerns, but fundamentally they’re all the same in the sense that their passion for music and love for their fans enables them to put 150% into every performance and makes all the injuries, long hours of nonstop practice, and exhaustion from constant traveling worth it. After all this massive success, they are still the same silly boys from 2013 who have never forgotten their humble beginnings and still feel overwhelmed over every award they receive. Every milestone is seen as an opportunity to improve and release better content; they have never settled for “good enough” and they never intend to, and personally I think their fame is an inspiring message to everyone in the world that no matter how much the odds are against you, success will always be attainable as long as you remain humble and put in the hard work and effort to get there. A few years ago these boys could barely fill small venues in their own country and they would get excited over having 200 retweets… fast forward to 2017 and they are exceeding the boundaries of Kpop, reaching global success, performing amongst world-renowned celebrities, and are making massive achievements in an industry in which English is the dominant language and Asians are highly unrepresented.

After everything they’ve been through, everything they’ve sacrificed, they deserve this recognition more than anyone else and enthusiastically voicing our excitement for them is the least we can do to express our gratitude. So yeah, sorry that we freak out over every little mention of BTS in American media. Sorry that we never seem to shut up about them. Sorry that our fandom is so “annoying”, but we aren’t going to apologize for loving, supporting, and taking pride in a group that has truly changed lives through their music and passion.

COME ON GUYS!!! REALLY??? (spoilers)

So im starting to notice something is going on with this fandom. And honestly i have this GINORMOUS urge to slap each and every one of the fans!!!!

Where should i start?? OH i KNOW! How about ppl not appreciating what cheritz gave us: a V route. Ive seen sooooo many ppl complain and whine that they wanted a saeran route instead of a v route. Like can you not!?!? Cheritz worked so hard and even delayed the date of the route, scared that we would be dissapointed, just so we can have the luxury of enjoying it. (Heck i think theyre still working on it since the after ending isnt out yet) Remember when ppl kept complaining to cheritz that they wanted a V route?? Yeah me neither!!!! What will cheritz think of us when they see this pattern of asking and getting but never appreciating???

Another thing is that in Vs route ppl are dying over saeran/ray. They act as if its sooo hard to avoid rays temptation. Like am i the only one who wasnt comfortable being with ray or whenever he called to say something “romantic”. And v is left to the side by the fandom. THIS IS V ROUTE PPL NOT SAERAN/RAY ROUTE!!! It saddens me to see that after months of begging and urging cheritz to be able to romance v we finally get the chance, but what happens? Apparently this ISNT what they asked for!!!! Its like a 9 y/o who wanted an iphone 8 but instead got the iphone7 xl and starts whining and crying!!! Tumblr is flooded with NOTHING BUT ray content. I hardly see any content about v even though its HIS FREAKIN ROUTE!!!!

Also i ABSOLUTELY LOATHE the fans that are hating on v still!!!! Calling him stupid and a coward. I remember even seeing someone comment on how they were dissapointed in v for not being able to get us out of mint eye and running away without us. Like… It was dozens against one… And doesnt even know how to fight!!!! Can u blame him??? Also if he was a coward he would have easily let seven take care of everything. But he didnt… In FACT V even came back to get us again remember??? He risked he life TWICE!!!!

I get this feeling that fans are also frustrated with v because he doesnt admit his love for us until like the very end. While ray showers us with “love from the beginning”. And seeing that fans love attention i can see why. But the thing is its not real love. As someone else put it, its obsession. Obsession and fear of being alone. His intention was to use you from the start. It doesnt matter if he gained feelings for you or not, or the fact that you went there on your own account (the players may know otherwise about starnger danger, but unfortunately the mc isnt so smart but she is innocent), you were gonna be forced to join a cult. You were gonna be forced, even if you were hesitant, to drink the drug. And even though ray is hesitant to hurt you and others as as well, it doesnt excuse the things hes done so far.

Yes, its sad that we cant save ray or give him the happiness he should be able to have. But lets remember that not everyone can be happy in one persons route. Unfortunately, someone has to suffer till the end. But saeran already gets to have his happiness in sevens route and honestly thats enough for me. But this is Vs route and its his turn to be happy. And im so thankful to cheritz for giving us this chance to make him happy.

Honestly, i may sound a bit mean but, ill be glad if cheritz NEVER makes a saeran route. After all this time we whined and complained for a v route??? After all this time they took to make it as enjoyable as possible, even fearing the delay that took place??? And ESPECIALLY AFTER SEEING THAT FANS KEEP WHINING ABOUT WANTING A SAERAN ROUTE AFTER BEGGING FOR A V ROUTE????!!!!?! At this point cheritz has the right to ignore these unappreciative fans. They dont deserve to be insulted like this. And we dont deserve cheritz’s precious time and money. Yet there they are doing everything they can to satisfy our wants. I feel bad because i know there are saeran fans who wanted to save saeran because they want to help him live a better life but were also willing to enjoy the v route without complaint. And need i tell you that im really only calling out the fans who arent appreciating the V route, insulting V as a character, who has suffered so much just to keep his loved ones safe, but advocating saerans unhealthy obsession with the mc, and those who call out and insult cheritz for not giving them what they wanted.

Im sure cheritz is done with all ur guys shiz. I for one am. Also let me let you in on one thing. Be greatful, western audiences, because from what ive seen cheritz pays more attention to us then they do korean audiences (theyve seen the “does jumin han is gay” meme, theyve made jaehee have feelings for the mc even tho in korea gay couples are still kind of taboo and above all the V ROUTE ITSELF, just to name a few). I made this a pretty long rant. But i just had to get my thoughts and feelings out there. I hope im not the only one who thinks about this.

quick question: how many of these interviewers have actually majored in communications or journalism??? all the questions they ask are so basic and superficial, not to mention just so tasteless??? they’re the same things over and over again: whose your celeb crush? what’s your fav song atm? are you planning to make any eng versions of your music? can you teach me some of your moves??? like COME ON. they remind me of a school project. even the interviews bighit does themselves have more substance. when will we hear some actually intriguing questions about things the western population don’t know about them? like about their unicef campaign and what drove them to create it, or about their struggles as a small company artist, or the inner workings of the kpop industry from their perspective? it’s a waste for bts to spend so much of their time and energy when it’s clear to see that these american platforms aren’t even bothering to do proper research on the boys let alone show proper interest for them
