I am apart of the fandom (slightly??) and YOU KNOW DAMN WELL WHO I'M PICKING
have you done your daily click
This is Eman a Biotechnologist from Gaza. Asking for help is not easy. It's not easy at all. You have no idea how mentally and emotionally tiring this is. But when thinking that the price is my family's life, getting out of here safely and achieve my doctoral degree dream, it just pushes me more and more to do this until we reach our goal. I'm here as I try to reach out to more people asking for their help to support our family's campaign so we can survive while all you have to do is literally donating even by just the price of your morning coffee or maybe a simple breakfast, So I think I'm not asking for so much. We're really tired of living under these catastrophic conditions for a whole 10 months. Your generosity will not only change our lives but also remind us that even in our darkest hour, we are not alone. https://gofund.me/d597b8e2
since I'm currently dirt broke at this time (and also 15 without a job), I can't donate myself, but I can spread awareness on my platform. it's basic human decency and sympathy to help someone in need.
Eman Zaqout works at Al-Shifa Hospital and Turkish Palestinian Friendship Hospital (TPFH) as a biotechnology specialist, serving cancer patients with compassion, care and skill. along with being a medical professional, Eman is also in the scientific field, conducting research in and out of the Gaza Strip. as a result of her hard work she has been awarded numerous scholarships, one of which is to attend a research project at McGill University in Canada. Eman returned to her home a month before the genocide began in the Gaza Strip.
while also pouring her entire being into her career, Eman is also a mother and wife. she's married to Mahmoud Zaqout, who with she has a 12 year-old son, Rakan, and a 10 year-old daughter, Seba. she used to live in her sweet neighborhood in the north.
this is Eman's neighborhood and family before the genocide...
... and this is what the IDF did to her home. Eman's family was forced out of their home and into unsanitary and undersupplied camps, where they are forced to live in displacement camps along with thousands upon thousands of other Palestinian families who were all subject to the same destruction and malice.
Eman's neighborhood, livelihood and happiness have been shattered, but not her resolve and determination. "The loss of my job, my home, and the comforting presence of my loved ones weighs heavily on my heart," Eman says on her GoFundMe page. "Nevertheless, I refuse to surrender to despair, clinging to the belief that brighter days lie ahead."
in the midst of destruction and despair, Eman is one of 22 women in the developing world who has been awarded an OWSD-PhD fellowship in order to pursue her PhD study in Malaysia. due to the Israeli forces occupying and closing the Rafah borders, however, she is stuck in Gaza and unable to achieve her dream.
she's determined to get her family out and back to safety as well as achieve her dreams, and you can help. with a $40,000 dollar goal, over $14,000 has already been raised to help evacuate Eman and her family.
"Your generosity is not just a donation; it is a beacon of hope in the face of adversity, a lifeline for not only my family but also other displaced families at our camp torn apart by conflict. Your support, whether big or small, will make a significant difference during this challenging time as we lost everything we have, and not just observe from the outside."
Let's do this again. Hopefully I didn't forget anyone.

So I finally read the Adam and Eve story for myself and I have some SHIT TO SAY. I stumbled upon it while researching the Greek creation myth, you can read it for yourself here.
First off, I feel the story of Adam and Eve, aka Genesis 3, is less about the consequences of disobedience and more about challenging authority and the risks that come with it. God told Adam and Eve that they would die if they ate from the Tree of Knowledge, but we know that wasn't necessarily true, showing fear-mongering in order to threaten believers into doing things. The serpent encouraged Eve to eat from the tree anyways, to which she was hesitant.
She was hesitant because the only thing she KNEW was God's word. Eve knew nothing but what God had told her, and she mainly didn't really have a choice in the matter. The serpent was trying to tell her that yes, she DOES have a choice, and she doesn't have to follow God's word all the time. It even said: 'For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.' God was lying to them, and the serpent was only giving her the glory of choice.
So Eve took the serpent's word and ate from the Tree of Knowledge. She even encouraged Adam to eat the fruit as well- on his own coalition and will! Both of them gained knowledge and feeling and the ability to distinguish right from wrong on their own. they grew as people; they no longer needed God to make choices for them, which should be an advancement.
When God saw that they knew more than HE thought they should, he immediately got mad and punished them. and how did God punish Eve, who was the first human in the world to realize her will? He stripped her of her free will, making her a slave to a man and bringing her pain. the serpent, the one who brought upon these lights, was put to death, and Adam, who should've gotten a punishment just as fitting as Eve's, was actually rewarded with the gift of agriculture. It's used to teach me that rebellion is an evil thing but in actuality I've learned how society punishes the ones who know they are corrupt.
I talked with my friend about this, and they also brought up some good points:
"[Eve] was a woman who was sheltered by care and love and when she finally rebelled and decided to think for herself, she was punished for it. Didn't help that she was lied to."
"HE TOLD ADAM 'HEY THAT'S THE TREE OF KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL DON'T EAT THE FRUIT' AND HE JUST TOLD EVE 'HEY YOU SEE THAT TREE THERE? YEAH DON'T EAT FROM IT.' DIDN'T TELL HER WHY!!!!" [in all caps because we were getting heated on this topic]
"It's a perfect model of the lack of respect we've had for women since the dawn of creation."
To be honest, I find it quite ironic that the story of Adam and Eve, the third story of the Bible, tells us just how the Roman Catholic Church (and how some churches still) treat the people who saw through their lies and wanted to know more about the world, away from God. And yet they still pass it around as a warning about the pursuit of hidden knowledge when they are the ones hiding this knowledge themselves.
This has been a rant.
you are my (only) overwatch moot btw
WE NEED MORE OW MOOTS LIKE RN
