You know despite not even drawing Shazam for a year yet, my character designs still go through constant little tweaks and edits. I’m trying really hard on trying to draw form & 3D shapes right now though, and that’s causing some technical issues when I draw Billy’s hair,,, I’ll have to study up on some comics or something haha,,,

My Darla redesign, and also my work in progress for her superhero form!! 💜✨🔮⚡️

I know I won’t get a chance to finish this tonight because normally going from the building/sketching stage to line art is at least an hour or two, not to mention coloring and shading LOL.

I’m still not exactly satisfied with the current proportions/pose, but it’s bedtime for me rn,,, I’m very sleepy haha.

But, I also redesigned Darla to give her a fuzzy oversized sweater and some stripped leggings! I also gave her some necklaces and soft winter boots! :D

My first design for my version of The Wizard! ⚡️🔮✨🌿

I know this one’s kinda out of the box but I wanted to make him seem kinda in-human and more magical? I guess kinda like help separate him from the humans in the story? Also he has dot eyes when he has his glasses on because drawing the eyes out with everything I have going on near his face was just,,, a lot lol.

Anyways yeah he’s chill but eccentric as fuck lol.

And also a size comparison between The Wizard, Shazam, and Billy just for reference.

This is my concept for the train car that Billy gets off of landing at the Rock of Eternity. I imagine the rock as a giant floating island that’s covered in jungle and rainforest plants, so I drew the train car after it gets magically transported to the rock so Billy can get his first glimpse of the magical other world.

Here’s Freddy’s design for both his regular form and his superpower form! ⚡️🩵

I was hoping to actually pick a different color for Freddy’s chest emblem however, I wanted to save a golden/yellow color for Mary’s design instead. But that’s okay I think he still works with a monochromatic and blue kinda vibe sooo yeah :)

The colors on my iPad look janky as hell as I draw this 💀 but I wanted to draw another quick exploration drawing for my Shazam “powers of living lightning” concept thingy. Idk

Maybe I’ll remaster and color/shade it fully but for now it’s just flats with some overlays lol

I kinda wanted to give her some Sailor Moon vibes because I know that she would think of herself as Sailor Moon when she uses her powers. She also probably says that the powers of Shazam make them all “magical girls”, and although the boys don’t really like that comparison, Mary always encourages it lol.
