Walked in a place on the ranch I dont often visit at least on foot. Ran into a squadron of javelinas. Luckily this old dog, the one pictured not the one who took the photo, did not chase them BUT 2 of them did escort us away following us for 60 70 yards.

A Scorpion With Little Ones On Its Back! South Texas Is Scorpion Paradise! Yard Work, Loading Square

A scorpion with little ones on its back! South Texas is scorpion paradise! Yard work, Loading square bales ‘hay’, Pulling green corn all could be hazardous! However I prefer 'zapps’ from scorpions over wasps or honey bees as they dont hurt as much. According to my grandfather when dried corn was hand harvested 'pulled’ and tossed into a mule drawn wagon the harvester could expected many scorpion stings on his/her hands. Asking about gloves he replied gloves made it difficult to grip the corn so were not used.

What I admire about the Russians is their pride in being Russian and their respect for their homeland.

Why I love Russian

When Russians get tipsy they say “У меня вертолёты.” Lit. “I have the helicopters.”

There are two kinds of envy in Russian. “белая зависть” or “white envy” which is the good kind, where ultimately you are genuinely happy for the person and their good fortune. I think you can guess the other kind.

Russian’s terms of endearment are the best. “Солнышко” lit. “my small sun” and “Дорогуша” meaning “dearie” are among my favorites

Your first semester as a uni student is called “Боевое крещение” lit. “baptism by fire.”

When a Russian person feels like you are pulling their leg, they might say “Не надо мне лапшу на уши вешать” which means “don’t try to play me.” The literal translation? “Don’t hang noodles on my ears”

Russian people like to show their love for something by using diminutives, so phrases like “Буду кусочек этого тортика” lit. “I’ll have a teeny tiny piece of that cakey” and “Мне очень понравился этот супчик” lit. “I really liked that soupy-soup” are a common thing. My favorite diminutive, though? It’s “cпасибочки!” which literally means “Thankie!”

Dude I'm glad you're posting your life! A lot of us just reblog someone else's. Texas is the greatest State!

I’ve decided that in the spring of 2019 I will start my custom landscape company. We will build ponds, waterfalls and fire pits. I honestly believe I can double my current salary within two years.

It will give me chance to spend more time at home and possibly never drive more than 20 a miles raduis to make a living. I plan to start a facebook page and pay the advertisement to get me to around 200,000 followers. The population in my area of Texas doubles every ten years. I could be doing a couple million a year by then. This venture will set me free slaving in an office 50+ hrs a week on top of a 13 hour a week long distance commute. I may even build a giant green house at the ranch and start growing all of my own flowers that I will definitely be using like these this year below.
