Neighbor's cow jumped the fence to come see us in South Texas!

No seed eating birds on my bird feeder today! This guy hunts my feeder I am guessing as I occasionally find feathers by the feeder. Love south Texas!

My sister is about to juice and freeze prickly pears. Its a process we burn the thorns off w/ a grass burner then rinse them well then juice, pour into water bottles and freeze. High in betalains and other anti oxidants prickly pears are good for us. Coyotes, deer, and other animals consume these in late summer.

The Butcherbird strikes again! These hunter birds are fascinating to me. South Texas is a major flyway for a number of northern birds. Most Loggerhead Strike spend the summer in the far North nesting and growing strong for their Autumn voyage south to Texas. This bird is still here or already here. I've not seen it but here is the evidence. 8/9/19

I’ve decided that in the spring of 2019 I will start my custom landscape company. We will build ponds, waterfalls and fire pits. I honestly believe I can double my current salary within two years.

It will give me chance to spend more time at home and possibly never drive more than 20 a miles raduis to make a living. I plan to start a facebook page and pay the advertisement to get me to around 200,000 followers. The population in my area of Texas doubles every ten years. I could be doing a couple million a year by then. This venture will set me free slaving in an office 50+ hrs a week on top of a 13 hour a week long distance commute. I may even build a giant green house at the ranch and start growing all of my own flowers that I will definitely be using like these this year below.

I have a partner today checking the cows! She loves me no matter what.

350 cows calving and the only one I am overly concerned about is the nurse cow!
