I look at my favorite alternatives to Google's Chrome browser.
Wow. I wonder if this would be the “Chromebook” moment for the Fediverse (or Mastodon)? Someone can sign up here easily and chat with Mastodon users/follow Pixelfed photos/etc? Without needing to know about federation or instances?
For the first time, streaming service viewing has eclipsed that of cable TV. I also take a look at which services will survive the "streaming wars."
I wrote this since most articles about streaming services treat animation as an afterthought, beyond a generic recommendation to “get Disney+ for kids” or an off-handed mention of “Harley Quinn” or ”Rick and Morty.” Hopefully, this helps animation fans?
The reason given for these actions is cost-cutting: a tax break available in mergers for writing off incomplete projects (like Batgirl), and savings on residual payments for the cast and creators of series. God forbid the artists make a few crumbs! Meanwhile, the CEO’s compensation package in 2021 alone was valued at $241 million. This is capitalism at its most absurdly cannibalistic, of profits based on destruction.

Unmentioned in the article, but fewer people who aren’t sports fans want to pay $70+ for cable/a live-streaming cable service anymore, especially for basically three channels: ESPN, TNT, and a regional sports network. Even dropping the regional sports network only reduces the cost to $35 (for Sling TV), which is still a hefty increase on what I pay for on-demand streaming services.
Maybe one reason the NFL is the US’ most popular sport: it’s available on over-the-air TV, even for local games.
A look at what streaming services cartoon characters would use.
Hmm... well, Tumblr *is* supposed to be adding ActivityPub support, which would let it work with the Twitter-like Mastodon. So however it's implemented, that might be Twitter-like enough? Plus it'd be a big boon for Mastodon/ActivityPub/the "fediverse", as it'd be easier to get into it via just using Tumblr?
I keep saying: If Tumblr added a Twitter-like sidebar they would render every other social media platform not supported as a loss-leader for Nazis extinct in a month.
Please please vote, friends. No time to screw around here. Everything’s on the line.

I look at how the world’s most popular sport is portrayed in cartoons, from dismissive (”The Simpsons”) to the centerpiece of the whole show (”Supa Strikas”).
Between the ongoing chaos since Elon Musk bought Twitter, as well as Trump allowed to return to the service, I’ve finally decided to stop using Twitter.
