Could you draw Ken sleeping with Mel when she was little?
this is probably a couple months after she first got home.
Don’t have enough Saru lately so I drew my own
Because I have a disease where I want to add a baby to every television show I think Odo's changeling baby should have stuck around, but to save money they stay a little jar of goo for a long time. Like Odo's talking about how they turned into a dodecahedron yesterday but every time we see them Odo's carrying a jar of goo and is like "Say hello to the Major, sweetheart. They're all tuckered out 🥺." This has been "Deep Space Nine Slapstick Pitches."
to this day at least four anons have told me that the ds9 writing staff had to ban guest writers from impregnating odo and that just makes me sad because we could have gotten goo tadpoles. fucking goo tadpole babies. in retrospect it wouldn’t be much better than the warp 10 salamanders but it would be really cool
I mean, it's not just the baby changling! (though it was the most beautiful example) I think it was also with the young jem'hadar. He is probably too scared with alpha quadrant babies or something at first but when he get the chance... he was so happy with the baby changling and he did his best. It is the happiest you ever see him as a solid. And it just makes me so sad that we don't visit this idea again.
I don't even see alot of fanfiction about it (though maybe I'm not looking enough...). If anyone know any parent!odo fic (if its quodo that's even better, but I don't really care) I would love if you can recommend me them or send them or something.
tô gostando muito de ler hellboy porém onde está a fandom pra fazer conteúdo desses 3 juntos.
my contribution to the @startrekswimsuitspecial :)
go check out the whole zine, there's some great art in there!!
Look I just think that if you’ve ever loved Star Trek, Like really loved it (not just had a passing interest or casually consumed it) then it’s gonna be a part of you forever. It injects a little whimsy in you. A little thoughtfulness and curiosity and wonder. I’ll watch Star Trek and every time I do I feel like a little kid staring up at the stars holding onto the grass. I’ll watch Star Trek and every time I’m sitting out sharing a sweater with my friend as we talk about Spock and the sun starts to set. I’ll watch Star Trek and it’s the same feeling of calm awe that I get when I sit in the aquarium.
Aliens aside it’s about humanity. It’s always about humanity and trying to understand despite it all (which I think is a core tenet of humanity). And if that compels you then it’s going to stay with you. No matter if the packaging is a bit silly. Maybe even because the packaging is silly.
Also once you love Spock I don’t think you can stop
I just found this post in my drafts:
Thank you std4! You granted my wish
Rom has an honest-to-goodness stutter. He stammers and sometimes has trouble expressing himself.
Before Deep Space 9, I had never seen that on any screen without it being a joke. Or a couple times as a character that appeared for less than 2 minutes.
HOWEVER, on DS9, not only does Rom have a decent-sized part, but:
- he's portrayed as a loving and supportive father, son, brother, and husband
- he LEADS his co-workers in forming a union
- he leaves a toxic workplace for an equally menial but safer job, and does it with dignity, and then earns promotions
- he invents new technology, and comes up with it almost as a side thought while planning his wedding, showing the genius that he's usually not recognized for
- and ultimately, he's chosen as the next ruler of an entire planet
I still don't see anything equivalent to that now, in the 2020s. And DS9 was made thirty years ago.
If movie and television producers are so keen on reviving things from the past for the sake of nostalgia, how about looking at Star Trek for ideas on not only increasing diversity and inclusion, but normalizing and celebrating them?
Saru and Georgiou be like:
- Be nice and follow orders.
- Fuck you.
And then they "accidentally" save each other’s lives
...
And now I want them to be friends, you know, friends who usually hate each other, but at the same time will kill anyone who dares to hurt one of them.
