Guys I think it's time to admit it. Shauna's a villain.
Genuinely I think so much of the fandom discourse could be helped by admitting this. You can find villains hot, you can find villains scary, villains can piss you off, but I haven't seen anyone arguing that she's not a bad person. She's a bully, she's manipulative, she's selfish, she hates everyone but herself, she's miserable to be around, she traded in her tragically fridged wife for a bootlicking henchman. All of these are BEAUTIFUL villain qualities.
people are starting to sympathise with the rat grinders now because they ARE the underdogs. they're outmatched by far and even if they're the villains people want to root for an underdog. they're weak because they were given the cheat codes and never learned anything because why would they?
this is my favourite thing.
will grum for my 10k dtiys on insta !!
we need a kipperlilly special on the complicated women podcast - she willingly chose to be possessed, those are some complex ethical and philosophical ramifications. for the sake of the argument i'm assuming porter also has control over her since the shatter star is a part of her, because the morality of choosing to become evil is so interesting. did she think she was going to become a hero somehow, or did she accept that she would have to be a villain to have the power she wanted? she wanted to be better than the bad kids but she kept her moral superiority about fairness and the rules, so was she aware that she couldn't beat the bad kids by playing fair? was her anger always at her own inadequacy, at the fact that she could never excel in the same way they did without cheating? was she projecting the entire time?

something about scar breaking the rules rerolling for hard on episode one, and almost hitting reroll instead of succeed later. the reroll sealed his fate on the first episode - he was at the mercy of the watchers, and his friends tried to help him solve their puzzle not realising that for once the fates had mercy. and when he is revealed to be the gods' favourite they turn on him, their pity turning to envy. the watchers isolate him through their perceived favour, and when he is isolated he fights to complete his task instead of rerolling his fate. he simply does what they ask because they're the only alliance he has, but even then he feels the call to reroll again. to get something different, something with friends, something where he doesn't have to hurt anyone. but he knows what rerolling got him, and in the end he settles for success.

I think all the supernatural elements of Yellowjackets can actually be explained as the spirits of the dead interfering either to help or punish.
The bear is Laura Lee taking care of her friends. The snow on Jackie's body is her allowing herself to be consumed if it means her friends survive. Javi survived on his own for so long because his dad was looking out for him.
The things that aren't directly linked to characters we know could equally be other spirits that died in the wilderness - the others that died in the plane crash, the man in the cabin, the owners of the survival equipment Ben found.
i don't know if this caption is a quote/reference but thinking about how trader scars was the first base to be destroyed, and it was never rebuilt. how he lived in the wreckage. the only things left standing were his walls and his monsters.
queen of nothing, wearing such a heavy crown
WAIT FANTASY CHARACTER STIMMING BY FLUFFING UP THEIR WINGS?? PLS!
