Found my 53yo very-much-not-online father in the kitchen today meticulously arranging cutlery on the countertop and i was like 'what are you doing' and he looked up at me with the world's most shit-eating grin and said "Your mother told me this is how you rick-roll the Youth" and i looked over and it was fucking. I saw a Fairy Tail AU, and thought “Wow, I can make that hurt a lot,” so here’s my own version.
Celestial Mage Tubbo has been pretty much raised by Celestial Spirit Wilbur and is best friends with Celestial Spirit Tommy. The two are the closest thing to a family he has.
(The Zodiac Spirits are replaced by the Chinese Zodiac, for reasons. Wilbur is the rabbit, Tommy is the dragon, Techno the pig, Schlatt the goat, ect)
At some point, he finds himself invited to the widely known Esempi Guild, run by Guild master Dream, which has a bit of a disaster-prone reputation, but eh. He’s always been the type to give out chances. So he goes.
Anyway, what this basically amounts to is the scene where Lucy has to break Aquarius’ key to summon the Spirit King, but it’s Tubbo with Wilbur’s key, forced to sacrifice the only parental figure he’s ever known to summon Philza, the equivalent of the Spirit King, knowing he’ll never get to see him again.
Extra angst in the option of him later trying to make Tommy made enough to leave him, because he knows that the other Spirit is torn between going back and finding his brother, and staying with his best friend, and decides it’ll be an easy decision to make if Tommy hates him-it’s not like it’d be undeserved, since he just destroyed Wilbur’s key.
“I think you need to go, Quackity.” Tubbo crossed his arms, Fundy hugging himself behind him, looking lost and off-kilter.
The duck hybrid barked a laugh, light and relaxed, even as he eyed the boy.
“C’mon Tubs, I need to talk to Fundy, it’ll just be a moment.”
“You need to stay away from my nephew.”
A pause. And then-
“Oh, Tubbo,” Quackity said, shaking his head at him. His tone was soft, and sympathetic as he continued, taking a step forward, arms loosely at his side. As though about to embrace him.
“I know you and Tommy were close, but, really. I don’t think it was that close. You’re his friend. Not his brother. Certainly not Wilbur’s-”
A bead of blood dribbled from the thin cut at his neck, a silver cutlass held to his throat. Tubbo’s eyes were hard.
“No,” He answered, clipped and frosty, “I’m Sally’s.” ————-
Or, AU where Sally and Wilbur fell in love as teenagers, and Tubbo was her younger brother. He became close with Tommy when she brought him over to Wilbur’s house so the two could hang out. When she passed away after having Fundy, Wilbur took him in.
Sally’s family were pirates. She left early on with a young Tubbo, wanting him to have a life outside of that to see his options, and met Wilbur when the two traveled through his town, and ended up sticking around.
Tubbo originally tried to keep his distance because he knew Wilbur was grieving, and didn’t want to seem like he was back-seat parenting the single father. Then it was because Fundy was trying to prove himself, and seemed to hate being coddled. With everything going on after that, Tubbo stopped being able to spend as much time with him, much less protect him.
After Doomsday, that changed. He caught Fundy before he left, and gave him Sally’s old journal. Fundy followed her travels, and took the same roads himself. It was really good for him.
It does give him a few questions about Tubbo though. Why did he have his mother’s journal? And who’s Tobias?
Literally nobody but Wilbur and Tommy knew Tubbo was her younger brother. As far as everyone else was concerned, they just picked Tubbo up one day, no more, no less.
That changes when he catches wind of Quackity trying to manipulate his nephew, and steps in.
Dream SMP Descendants AU. I have like three different ideas for this, so…
Version one:
Isle kids consist of Wilbur, Techno, and Tommy.
Tommy is the son of the leader of a group known as The Organization, Clara, who rules with an iron fist.
However, the rest of the kids of the Organization and Tommy tend to run together, and they’re all a gang called Business Bay, that controls one of the dock areas. They’re also allies with Boffy, son of the Snow Queen.
Wilbur is the son of the Sky Gods, who were sealed for their malicious behavior, but used the last of their magic to create a heir.
Techno’s the son of the Blood God, who was sealed for causing war and bloodshed everywhere.
The two get along due to their ties to divinity. They’re both reluctantly fond of Tommy as well.
Anyway, Phil’s the king of the Antarctic Empire. When the three kids are taken from the Isle to be enrolled in Auradon, he offers to host them until school starts, since it’s summer.
Tad bit awkward since the Organization was his antagonist to the throne, and the three are just wary in general, but he’s doing his best, trying to make them comfortable and ready for school.
Basically SBI based.
Version two:
Isle kids consist of Phil, Wilbur, Techno, Tommy, Bad, Dream, Ranboo, and Puffy.
Phil’s the son of Maleficent and Hades-the Angel of Death bit was too good to pass up, honestly, and now we can give him wings!
Dream and Ranboo are the sons of Dr.Facilier and the Queen of Hearts. Dream was born naturally, but Ranboo was created(blood from a man, tears the shadows weep, and the heart of a cardsmen) due to Facilier wanting a heir, and the Queen wasn’t willing to let him have Dream.
Tommy is either their half brother on the Queen’s side, the son of the Evil Queen, or the original queen that cursed the brothers in the tale of The Six Swans. Haven’t decided yet.
Wilbur’s going to be his brother though, so he’ll also be the son of one of those. That, or the son of the Enchantress that cursed the Beast.
Puffy’s the daughter of Captain Hook, of course.
Bad’s the son of the witch from Hansel and Gretel, as well as an unknown demon.
Techno’s the son of Madam Mim and Hans.
The eight arrive to Auradon and discover that it’s not as free as it suggest, suppressing magic. Lucky for them, the students of Auradon have their ways around this problem, and are eager to welcome them all to the fold.
Unique dynamics and everyone bonding and supporting each other while trying to figure out how to flip the entire system on it’s head.
Including George as the son of Sleeping Beauty, Quackity being part fae and forming a friendship with Philza, and Niki being a mermaid.
Version three:
Isle kids consist of Tommy, Tubbo, Purpled, and Ranboo.
Purpled’s the son of Maleficent, Ranboo’s the son of Cruella and Dr. Facilier, Tubbo’s the son of the Evil Queen, and Tommy’s the son of Captain Hook.
They’re all very close to one another, even if they pretend otherwise.
When they get sent to Auradon, everyone becomes attached soon after, and would probably die for these kids.
Purpled and Ranboo commonly run together, as do Tommy and Tubbo, Then Tubbo helps Ranboo, the two became friends, and the two groups join together, despite Purpled and Tommy being at odds.
They’d all literally kill for each other.
wow okay, i am impressed with the amount of interest this idea got so... poll time!

Come to think of it, Childe can transform into water and fly, as he did to leave the Golden House in the Liyue quest
Well, he has mastered multiple weapons so this is probably what he does as a Catalyst
Wonder what he’d be like using other weapons
I crave BAMF Tubbo and more fics about Tubbo’s bond with the SBI-mostly Techno, because those two have more similarities than most realize.
So, AU.
Technoblade and Tubbo are a bit closer in this AU. This starts a bit after Tubbo is adopted into the family.
Techno knows his family loves him. Of course he does. But..it’s hard sometimes, being the only one without wings. Being the only one with no resemblance to them. And Tubbo comes, and he’s adopted too. And Techno feels a bit of a bond with him, the two of them being the only none-bird hybrids in the house.
So those two get close, in their own way. Anyone outside the family probably wouldn’t see it, but Tubbo learns how to do stitches when his big brother comes home hurt and can’t do them himself, and Techno memorizes the storybook his little brother has him read every night, with no complaints. It’s the little things.
Tommy has Wilbur, and Tubbo has Techno. And they all have each other.
Eventually the family starts drifting a bit. Phil starts playing favorites a little. They try. They really do. But it’s not enough, and one day, Techno and Phil return to an empty house, and a note that explains that Wilbur is taking the kids and going somewhere else.
Techno finds a worn bee plushie on his bed, with a note of his own.
‘I’ll see you soon!’
Fast forward however many years later, and the piglin hybrid finds himself getting a call. From Tommy, who babbles about how he wasn’t supposed to call them, but Pogtopia(?) needs help and so does Wilbur, and Tubbo’s in trouble-
A mess, really.
Techno comes, of course. They’re family. He would never leave them when they needed him.
So he joins the rebellion, does what he can, and then, tragically, the festival happens.
(Not even an hour ago, he was farming potatoes while Tubbo chattered away from his side, a wide smile on his face, and eyes full of trust and warmth)
Techno has never done well with peer pressure(The voices, the voices, tHE VOICES). He aims his crossbow at his little brother’s chest, from where he stands locked in a cage, with frightened, worried eyes. He stalls, waits for any signal of rescue, any sign that he won’t be the weapon that takes his brother’s life.
Nothing comes. He can see the exact moment Tubbo realizes. His eyes are still trusting, and his smile forgiving, as his hands shake from where they’re wrapped around the cold iron of his cage.
He pulls the trigger. Blood flies, the voices roar, and somewhere in his blood rage, Technoblade realizes that this place was doomed from the start-and if it was not, then it certainly was now, with his gentle-hearted brother’s blood staining the earth.
Tubbo respawns in Pogtopia, and his eyes are glazed and unseeing. Wilbur tries to make his brothers fight in the pit. The hybrid refuses. Enough blood has been spilled tonight.
Here’s where the training starts. Because Tubbo’s blindness will not remain, is not permanent, luckily, but it will still take time for his eyesight to return, and there is a war coming.
It would be a dishonor to himself and to his family if he were to leave Tubbo unable to fight after rendering him so.
It just so happens that, prepared as ever, Techno learned how to fight blind ages ago. Because you never know what will happen, and he needed a challenge. So he teaches Tubbo.
You’ve got heightened hearing, so use it. Pay attention to the sounds, pay attention to the air, pay attention to the people. Give them false weaknesses, use your real ones, press every advantage. Be quick, be clever, be merciless.
Anyway, Tubbo becomes a total badass. Either nobody knows, because Techno figures doing this secretly will give him more of an advantage, or they don’t take it seriously, because, well. They don’t take kids very seriously, often, even in wars, do they? And it’s Tubbo. Tubbo’s never a threat(not).
Fast forward again. Schlatt dies, Pogtopia loses, and Wilbur tries to make Tommy president.
You can see the shared moment of confusion between the two. The slow realization that they’re setting up another government, after what the last one did.
(Tubbo thought they’d make L’manberg a community, or something. No government, no politics, just peace and them, all together again. Techno just didn’t think they’d use him for the very thing he fought against)
Tommy turns it down, and gives the title to Tubbo. In front of everyone.
Tubbo’s never done well with peer pressure. Just another trait he shares with the eldest brother.
L’manbergs explosion happens, the withers, and such. In the chaos, Techno is giving out every subtle warning he can for his apprentice without saying a thing.
Wilbur dies, and Techno flees, and from here, there are two options.
Option one: He takes Tubbo with him. He grabs his horse, and offers a hand out for the other, and Tubbo takes it, because he has no intention of being president when there’s another option.
They run and make a cozy life in the snow, eventually joined by Philza, Ghostbur, and, much later, a Tommy who held on and got hurt for it.
Option two: Techno doesn’t get the chance. Tubbo is forced to stick around, and bare the weight of a nation he can feel crumbling by the day. The events of canon happen, with much remorse and unhappiness between the brothers.
Dream is defeated, Snowchester forms, and if Techno finds his way over there, and the two trade apologies along with gifts and warm drinks, well. There’s nobody around to see.
Basically, just Tubbo being cool, and epic, as he should be, and Techno and Tubbo being brothers, and bonding.
Seriously, if anyone has any good fics with BAMF Tubbo, and Techno and Tubbo friendship, please tell me.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle AU.
Teens Tommy, Tubbo, Purpled, and Ranboo are supposed to spend their detention day clearing out the school’s basement-that goes south when they stumble upon a video game that’s much more than meets the eye, and are quickly dragged in over their heads.
Wilbur, Phil, and Techno are all brothers. Fundy has Alex’s role, stumbling upon the game years ago, and getting sucked in.
Phil is Tommy’s dad, however, he spends a lot of time trying to get Wilbur back on his feet after the loss of his son, to the point of Tommy often feeling neglected and unseen. Thus causing him to cause trouble in school to gain some of his father’s time.
Techno’s the teacher in charge of their detention, putting them together in hopes they’d forge a friendship.
Purpled has a disregard for authority, due to pretty much raising himself while his brother worked to keep a roof over their heads. He doesn’t see a reason to do things a certain way when he can do them much more efficiently his own way, leading him to get into arguments with his teachers quite often.
Tubbo is Tommy’s former childhood friend, the two drifting apart over time. He often gets in trouble purposely, to have an excuse not to go home to his father, Schlatt, who’s either drinking, or too busy working too acknowledge him.
And Ranboo is just a target for bullies, often getting dragged into fights and blamed for things he doesn’t do, to the point of seeing no reason trying to deny it when he’ll only get in trouble for it anyway.
When they’re dragged into Jumanji, they find themselves allied with NPCs that seem more human than not, and on a quest to complete the dangerous game in order to get home.
Tommy becomes Theseus Crafter, a young librarian with access to a ton of books and knowledge, and was in the jungle following his mentor, Ghostbur.
Ranboo becomes Ran Wastaken, the deadly assassin and younger sibling of antagonist Dream, who saw his brother’s corruption, and set off to stop him.
Tubbo becomes Tobias Halo, the youngest member of the Halo family, who are explorers and treasure hunters by trade.
Purpled becomes Hunter ‘Lavender’ Rose, blossoming botanist and cousin of underground fighter Hannah Rose.
Fundy is Ren Todd, a brilliant spy, who’s been working under Dream for years to collect info on him.
To finish the game, they’ll have to collect their various allies, free Dream from the Demon’s Mask, and return the jewel he stole to it’s rightful place in order to break the curse on the land.
Assassin!Tubbo and Anarchist!Tommy AU
Basically, turning Tubbo’s presidency, things take a vastly different turn, when Purpled, already starting up his Assassin gig, and out gathering supplies, finds Tubbo collapsed from exhaustion in the woods.
Feeling sympathy for the other boy, and recalling that he’s one of the few he really has a bond with, Purpled takes him back to his base, and the two talk things out while Tubbo rests.
He admits he’s been struggling, and how he wishes he wasn’t president. How he never wanted to have this weight on his shoulders, and he wants Tommy back. He’s tired, he says.
Purpled listens, and offers a solution-to help him disappear. And Tubbo doesn’t want to be selfish, doesn’t want to be cruel, but the other points out that maybe he deserves to be. Maybe, for once, he deserves to put his wants above others-because all he’s ever done is…well. Not.
By the end of the week, L’manberg’s third president is gone with the wind, only a single message left in his wake.
Tubbo_ fell from a high place.
He doesn’t respawn in his bed in L’manberg. He doesn’t respawn at all.
By the end of the month, he is presumed dead.
(And oh, how they whisper, about just why that is)
Tommy’s wail of grief lingers in the ears of all who heard it at the funeral, but what they don’t hear is the growing hatred for the country that has taken everything from him. His brothers, his disc, his happiness, his Tubbo.
He was lucky enough to get one brother back, and he might one day get his disc, but he can never have Wilbur, or Tubbo again.
And L’manberg will burn for that.
Meanwhile, within a cavern that’s slowly turning into a home, the said to be dead president sheds his suit for something a little less likely to stain, and a little easier to kill in.
Featuring lots of Purpled & Tubbo friendship, as well as Sleepy Bois family bonding.
