What about a httyd au? Phil is the chief and Tommy is the youngest kid who’s tired of being looked down on compared to his dad and famous brothers who are all legendary dragon slayers, so he tries to capture a dragon himself and ends up with the equal parts friendly and terrifying night fury!Tubbo. Cue friendship! (Bonus if Tubbo can temporarily shapeshift into human form when his bond with Tommy is strong enough.)
How to Train Your Dragon au...
God what if he and Tubbo fight side by side. Holy shit that would be cool. Tubbo shapeshifting back and forth between a human and dragon. Oh god.
Also Techno, we can have him have Carl, the Dragon he has adopted shortly after Tommy made friends with Tubbo.
Hmmmm but we got to figure out the shapeshifting thing part out. Maybe Tubbo is like one of those enchanted dragons or something? Like he definitely won’t let Tommy “capture him”. Maybe he just wanted friends and Tommy was so bad at capturing that he accidentally made friends with this human who is about his age.
Anyways, found family is pog and I like to think that Quackity, Schlatt, are shapeshifter and oh god there is so many god damn possibilities with this au.
Sally the Salmon being a Dragon Shapeshifter and Wilbur not knowing...
Fundy being one of those Dragon shapeshifters and finding out when he was young and freaking out about it because his dad is a dragon slayer...
Au where Tubbo is Jackie (and not the other way around!) Jackie’s maybe 14 or so in the event, and sometime after the tales event, Jackie found himself in the past with a messed up memory, and was found on the side of the road by the sbi, taking the name Tubbo.
At some point he does remember who he was before he ended up in the past. And the whole hitman/expert fighter/war general thing is something that’s actually a lot harder to reconcile with who he is now than one would imagine it would be.
Oh, this is a really cool idea. For laughs, maybe he panicked when they asked what his name was, because he can’t remember it, and saw the name on the side of the box, and went ‘Tubbo...yes. My name is Tubbo. Absolutely, that is me, just nobody look at the words on the box.’
And I can imagine it would be. Being a hitman and growing up free to do kid-stuff like chase bees and wrestle with his friend probably make for two very different people, even if at the core, they’re the same. Nature and nuture, y’know?
On the bright side, now he remembers why he knows how to pick locks and stab people in certain ways, and he remembers even more neat tricks! How useful!
Depending on when he remembers, there’s a lot of chances for different things to happen, so that’s also something that’d be neat to play around with.
I can revise this moment… FOREVER
Accident, or there can only be one?
i do wanna say that i believe in dadtain but i am aware of how schlatt will throw down for crumb and tubbo any day so i will say that if i have to accept dad!schlatt it will only be as him being the bio dad who had to give him up and he was taken in by captain and crumb but one day crumb accidently pushed him out of the maserati so he climbed into a box and thats where phil found him
Superhero/Villain au where the SBI, Tubbo, and Fundy are all heroes, and everyone else is a villain in their city. When Wilbur goes missing, Techno and Philza dip to go find him, leaving Tommy, Tubbo, and Fundy to try to keep their city afloat.
Which isn’t going so well, because not only are they vastly outnumbered, but they’re still technically in training…and the people who actually were fully trained and qualified for this just left, leaving plenty of opportunities for other villains to join the party.
Lucky for our troubled trio, the city’s resident villains, led by Dream, don’t feel like sharing, and they’re all pretty attached to their heroes. So they step in, and help out, and as the heroes get closer and closer to the villains, they make more morally grey decisions.
Wilbur eventually shows back up again, with different powers, some trauma, and quite the tale, and he fits right in with the group.
But Philza and Techno cannot say the same, upon returning to find their young proteges now toeing the lines between hero, vigilante, and villain.
AU where Tubbo is Dream’s brother. Dream has pretty much raised Tubbo, after they washed up alone on a beach shore, and the two are incredibly close. However, their desire to roam and explore is untamed, and once the two are both old enough, they part ways to adventure.
Dream goes onto his Manhunts and Duels, and eventually the SMP.
Meanwhile, Tubbo becomes a seasoned adventurer, jumping through worlds and meeting many new friends. He goes through Mianite, Hermitcraft, ect. However, one of his best friends is Tommyinnit, a boy he meets on SMP Earth, and quickly becomes close to.
The two eventually go their separate ways, with Tubbo still wanting to explore more, and Tommy going with his brother to this ‘Dream SMP’ place. It’s a bit sad, but overall, good, and Tubbo hopes his friend will be happy there.
Four years later, he gets a desperate, tear-stained letter from the boy he would gladly call his best friend, telling of the horrors he’s faced, and pleading for him to just come, if only for an hour or so.
Tubbo goes, and finds more than just his traumatized friend waiting for him-cruel truths and unkind realizations lie just around the bend as he must confront who his brother has become, as well as all the people he has hurt.
AU where the family dynamics get swapped around. Tubbo, Eret, and Dream are raised by Philza. Tommy, Wilbur, Ranboo, and Techno are raised by Captain Sparklez. George and Quackity are raised by Puffy. Sapnap is raised by Sam.
I have confused myself, but those are the basics of it.
Though Dream is more of a speedrunner that a outright fighter, he and Phil share a need to wander, so they often left home together to explore and travel.
This leaves Eret, the oldest, to stay and raise Tubbo alone, along with a young fox hybrid, Fundy, who they found abandoned by a creek. Luckily, the responsibility doesn’t manage to wear them down too much before they befriend a man named Foolish, who becomes a great help to her.
Tommy, and Wilbur are just chilling, sailing the seas and getting many, many shiny treasures for their collections.
Eret and Foolish were friends. Eret died in a battle though, and got reincarnated as Tubbo and Dream’s sibling. Foolish found them again, as he always does.
Fundy’s still Wilbur’s kid, it’s just that neither of them know that for a long while. Sally was a siren, who tried to find Wilbur to give him Fundy, but was unable to, and knowing her child wouldn’t be able to survive at sea, left him by the creek where she knew people passed by everyday, before leaving.
When Sparklez was called away on a mission, Wilbur was often the one to watch Tommy and Ranboo. Though Tommy already considered him a brother, a young Ranboo came to see him as something of a parental figure-this leads to some tension between him and Fundy in the future.
Wilbur and Techno follow Dianite, and Tommy and Ranboo follow Ianite.
Events pretty much continue on as canon, except changed by the different relationships and lifestyles they’ve all lived.
Example: Dream still creates the Smp. Eret and Tubbo still join L’manberg. Eret still betrays them-but here are some changes. Eret betrays them because he wants some of her older brother’s approval, just to be a bit as powerful as him for once, and have him respect her. In the Final Control Room, Punz and Eret grab Tubbo and Fundy, restraining them while the others are killed, much to their horror.
They basically end up stuck in the castle for a week, while their siblings try to convince them of it, until Tommy and Wilbur sneak in and steal them back to L’manberg.
They don’t blame the two for it, after all. It was easy to see the confusion and fear on their faces when it all went down, they obviously weren’t aware of it, and if they didn’t blame them for Dream’s decisions before, why would they blame them for Eret’s now?
Wilbur eventually gets consumed by chaos, weak from stress and his decline, and ends up blowing up L’manberg. Sparklez comes, senses the internal unbalance, and knocks him out when Wilbur tries to get him to kill him-he drags the twins to a nice, warm island, builds a house, and helps them heal.
Tubbo doesn’t lose a second life to Techno, he loses it to Schlatt, who gets annoyed when Techno hesitates and does the job himself
Foolish honestly has very little idea with how to deal with mortals, so he just kind of treated Tubbo and Fundy how he would Eret, but with a lot more caution and care-because they’re so tiny and curious, he’s terrified he’s accidentally going to hurt them.
This basically results in them knowing a lot of things they shouldn’t-which, in his defense, was exactly how he got Eret to take care of themselves-they did healthy stuff and rested well, and he’d teach them neat tricks or some secret knowledge in turn. Bribery works great…in theory.
In practice, giving two small children knowledge of the dark arts hasn’t turned out too well. Weird.
The SBI basically kind of steals Tubbo and Fundy. They just…take ‘em. Once Eret gets himself together again, and redeems himself, they share with her too, but previous to that, Tubbo and Fundy are no longer their’s, they will now be joining the pirate crew.

AU where Tubbo’s the son of Captain Sparklez, but something happened, and the people of Mianite(gods and all) were cursed, forgetting about everything outside their duties as gods and champions-including people.
Despite originally only being temporary, the curse begin to grow stronger, and one day, well.
One day they didn’t remember, and Tubbo, knowing the curse might hurt them if a memory was forcefully triggered, deciding not to risk it, and removed himself from the scene.
He made his way to Hypixel, under the alias of Forest, and befriended Purpled. The two would fight together in underground arenas, and came to rely and trust each other.
A few years later, Tubbo decided to leave Hypixel for his own modded survival world, where he can settle down for awhile. However, on his way to the portal hub, he catches sight of the Captain, along with Crumb, who both seem to be looking for something.
Watching them, he gets distracted, and ends up caught in a rushing crowd. One thing leads to another, he hits his head, and tumbles through a portal he’s not familiar with. Wakes up on SMP Earth being patched up by Tommy, and can’t remember who he is or how he got there.
The two get close over the duration of their time there, and when it’s over, end up going to Dream SMP together.
And so it goes from there, until one day, in Snowchester, Tubbo gets a message.
Captain Sparklez and Crumb have joined the game.
Other bits:
Tubbo has a bracelet with little charms on it that has plot relevance. Said charms are a gift from several people, with an Eye of Ender charm from Ianite, and a sword charm from Purpled, as well as eventual new ones from the others.
He leaves his sword charm with Purpled before leaving for his survival world, as a promise to come visit, and loses his Eye of Ender charm in the crowd, where it’s found by Crumb and Sparklez.
Tommy gave him both a bee charm and a red bandanna that he wears over the bracelet.
Tubbo speaks Ender, but only realizes that when he runs into Enderboo, which results in a very confusing conversation for both of them.
Tubbo’s body is still ingrained with his fighting style, even if he doesn’t remember learning to fight at all. That’s led to several interesting situations.
