"Kai is not selfish, he is selfless". That's what my friend once said.

There were often phrases from other characters in the series that poked at Kai's selfish nature (which I've never seen?). Poked at the most unnecessary moment... "First you wanted to be the green ninja, now this. When will you start thinking of something other than yourself?" when Zane died. I'm still sure that Kai thought it would be better to lose him rather than the nindroid, but he was misunderstood. "You're just worried about yourself" when Lloyd almost died, but there were huge risks of losing all of their powers and then the whole of Ninjago. I noticed that all this shit follows him literally the entire series, almost right up to season 2 of dragon rising. It seems to me that only Zane didn't call him selfish (that's why I drew him standing aside with his hands down-). And what did everyone get for it? Kai regularly risked his life to save his teammates. They didn't get a bad response, but only "close the gate, don't worry about me."

Damn, even when Kai felt love and affection from his parents for the first time in many years... The only thing Nya said was, "I bet he loves being treated like a baby." Girl...

I'm sure that words don't go away without a trace. Perhaps they haunt him like some kind of ghosts of those who said this.

I want to talk about it, I want to remind you about it.

The ninjago's chronology is very off, so let's pretend they were all together at the same time.

And since Lily doesn't have a normal canonical costume, I made something with a season 13 theme. Like mother, like son.

I also think Lloyd would have been a long-liver. But mentally and physically, he would have grown as slowly as possible.

Yes I made both her and Kai eevees and as such they do become eeveelutions. Takes no braincells to figure out what Kai becomes lol

But Nya is a special case here I got more to say on herrrrr

She had always In the earlier season expressed a desire to choose her own path, have a choice in her life and when she was forced to become the water ninja she had to battle with accepting that part of her life that she didn't get to choose but was chosen for her

I decided to emulate that by essentially having her accidentally become a vaporeon. Somewhere along the way she touched a water stone forcing her into a vaporeon and then she had to grapple with the fact that the choice of picking who she wanted to be was taken from her and she now had to live as a vaporen

She had really wanted to be an Umbreon...

She tried to do the game equivalent of pressing the B button to stop her evolution when it was happening but it backfired resulting In her turning partially into water for like a week while the others tried to calm her down

She still has evidence of that via her tail and water marks on her paws.

I dunno it's kinda poetic and angsty and a cool way to fit her becoming one with the ocean but I thought it fit

Finally updated my headcanons for the main Ninja's appearances ♡ The ones from last year looked ew to me so this was overdue.

Lloyd: I know he doesn't have curly hair, but I was unhappy with the way I drew it before so I tried something different and really liked this so I stuck with it. Light freckles, scars too obviously. The little braid is a personal touch of mine representing a connection to my OC hehe

Nya: the markings from her Ocean form were so pretty I had to keep them faintly, and the blue streaks in her hair seemed fitting too. Also a small nose piercing because she would. I love giving her turquoise colors too. Round face features

Kai: his spiky hair is always a challenge so I tried finding a way that's easier for me to draw. I love giving him a mullet too. Slightly crooked nose, sharp features overall & moles. Lotsa ear piercings. Tattoos probably as well

Zane: the most fun to do, his robotic features give a lot of freedom to work with. Making his hair half dark half white was a random idea but I love it now. Straight and angular features

Cole: wider face and body shape, long scar from his forehead down to the eye. I gave my best drawing dreads for him and I think I did well. Orange-green eyes from his ghost phase. Oh and a slight stubble, I thought it fit him well. Originally wanted to give Kai one too, maybe next time

Jay: saw a cosplay of him with this lightning scar across his face and I loved it so much I took it over. Also heterochromia for him, it just feels right. Lots of freckles, super fluffy hair. One hair streak looks like a lightning bolt. Soft shapes and features

Nemari: Sharp jawline, pointy chin and nose. Very light freckles, big scar on right shoulder. Pointy ears, few ear piercings.

Just watched season 2 part 1 of Dragons Rising and I love it!!

I think what would be so funny though is that when Jay finally does come back Nya will come up to him, tears in her eyes and he'll just be like, "who are you?"

And it'll be soul crushing but Jay then like sees Kai and it's like that scene from the pilot and instantly has a crush cause c'mon, he's definitely bisexual. I could just imagine him asking Kai what's his favorite color, like in the pilot and being a blushing mess while Nya is absolutely heartbroken and also in shock while Kai is completely disturbed and confused.

In the next episode or so while Jay is still an amnesiac, Nyas like "give him back" and Kais like, "you can have him??!!! In fact, take him away, please!"

I think it'd be so funny if he just kept trying to impress Kai or something and Kai is barely keeping himself from either killing himself or Jay. He only hasn't because he loves Nya too much.
