Heba and her family lost their home due to the war, and now live in a tent. Because of the lack of proper shelter or cleaning supplies, Amir has developed a chronic skin disease. Without access to the treatment Amir needs, the disease has spread greatly throughout his body, and causes him severe pain, so much so that he struggles to sleep.

My name is Hazem, I am 27 years old, and I live in the Gaza Strip with my wife, Nadra, who is 26 and in the early months of pregnancy. We led a simple life; I worked in trade and owned a modest store, while my wife was a daily-wage teacher. But everything changed drastically with the recent war, leaving us no choice but to flee multiple times in search of safety.
We have become used to facing wars, but this time, it’s entirely different. We are experiencing an unrelenting genocide, forcing us into constant displacement from one area to another within Gaza. Today, we find ourselves living in a tent on the streets amid worsening conditions every day.
The pain of loss doesn’t end there; I recently lost my father, and now I live with my beloved mother, whom I care for. Even my store, built through hard work to provide a dignified life for my family, didn’t survive.
My wife and I have thought a lot about the future of our upcoming child and how life would be for them in these harsh circumstances. It was a Saturday morning, October 7, and Mariam was filled with excitement and pride for reaching the next stage of her education. She wanted to surprise her kind teacher with that little rose. But in an instant, her world — our world — was torn apart.
Without warning, the skies filled with the sounds of explosions. The joyful morning turned into a nightmare of dust, fear, and destruction. Her preschool was shattered, her teacher’s life taken, and our neighborhood became a place of ruin. I am Khaled Ismail, a 41-year-old father, and my wife Rasha is 32. We live in Gaza with our three children. Our youngest, beautiful Mariam🕊, is just five years old. Our eldest, Walid, 12, is a boy full of dreams, always hoping to become an inventor. And in the middle, there’s Karim, our 10-year-old, whose laughter and jokes used to brighten our darkest days.

My name is Shadi Issa. I am married and a father of three children: Tia (6 years old), Ibrahim (4 years old), and Sand (1.5 years old). We currently live in Deir al-Balah, located in central Gaza, after being forced to flee from northern Gaza where we previously lived in Beit Lahia. We, along with over a million other Palestinians, had to relocate to the southern part of Gaza, specifically to Rafah, where we experienced a period of relative stability until the outbreak of the conflict.
Before the war, I worked as an accountant and we enjoyed a peaceful and stable life in our home, which comprised five residential apartments occupied by my extended family and me. We had access to amenities such as a water well and a solar power system, and we cultivated olive trees on our land. Our lives were proceeding normally, and my children were about to start the school year, until the fateful day of October 7, 2023, when the war erupted, turning our lives into a living nightmare. Our home was bombed, destroying our dreams and future.
Our displacement journey began amidst the bombing and danger, leading us to makeshift shelters lacking basic necessities. We face daily struggles to find drinking water, which is often unsuitable for use. We currently live in a tent no larger than five square meters, which offers no protection from the summer heat or winter cold, and provides no defense against insects, scorpions, and snakes, which have impacted the health of our children.
We have endured immense pain and fear, witnessing death repeatedly. The situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate, and all escape routes are blocked. Returning to northern Gaza is prohibited due to security barriers. After seven months in Rafah, where we faced further bombing and losses, we moved to Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, where we lost all our belongings.
Escaping Gaza to Egypt is not easy and requires significant funds to cover travel costs and other fees. The estimated cost is $5,000 per adult and $2,500 per child. The funds will be used to cover travel expenses and basic living costs in Egypt until we can rebuild our lives away from the ongoing conflict.
We are currently living in an extremely cramped tent, and we have lost everything we once had. I kindly ask for your assistance in raising $20,000, which will enable us to escape to Egypt, where we can be safe and start a new life, and where our children can attend school and have a chance at a normal life.

On the fourth day of this month, we lost my older brother, Mohammed, during the Israeli occupation's invasion of the city of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip. She and her mom were displaced; they now live in a tent with very little to support themselves. Her mother suffers from chronic cardiac conditions, leaving her bedridden at the moment and without proper treatment due to the conditions in Ghazzah. Her mother's health is worsening; since Eman's father was martyred in 2014, she's deeply afraid of losing the only parent she has left.
In order for Eman and her mom to evacuate as well as for Eman to be able to finish highschool , they are trying to raise $40,000 USD. So far, they've only raised $3,292. Their last donation was 22 hours ago.

My family and I are living through unimaginably harsh conditions due to the ongoing war in Gaza. We have lost our home, my livelihood, and our sense of security. Today, we find ourselves in a small tent, struggling to survive each day amidst the destruction and chaos. We face a shortage of food and water, and we don't know what tomorrow holds for us. Before the war, I worked as a graphic designer, striving to build a better future for my family. But everything I built collapsed before our eyes. Now, we are desperately searching for safety and a new chance at life. We need your support to raise funds to escape Gaza and start over in a place where we can finally find peace. My life before the war was filled with hope and aspirations—and today, I only wish to regain that hope for my family.
Our home, which was once a symbol of hope, has now become rubble and shattered walls. As others have mentioned, the purpose of Israel banning UNRWA has nothing to do with Hamas or October 7th. It has everything to do with cutting off Palestinians from an international institution that, along with vital aid, provides legal recognition of their right of return. All factions within Israeli politics are committed to erasing the connection of Palestinians to their homeland, promoting instead a racial-supremacist vision of a greater Israel purified of Arab 'savages'. This move, enabled by the Israeli Knesset, is just another expression of that life-destroying vision.

In one horrible, traumatic day in October 2023, Hazem lost everything. He had a pregnant wife and two beautiful sons, Imad and Jad (photographed above), and when Israel bombed their home, they were martyred and he survived but with severe injuries and lasting emotional trauma.
This war has completely devastated the life of this man, and all he wants is to be able to get treatment for his injuries, survive this horrific genocide, and carry on his life in spite of these cruel circumstances that he's been placed in.

My name is Tahseen Khazendar from G@@7_@, P@1_e$tine . As you are reading my message, my wife, 3 little children, and I are sitting in the north of G@@7_@ City, starving with no food, water, or money. Specially my older son, Ibrahim, who suffers from the Celiac disease and needs a special food which I am not able to provide for him at this current time in G@@7_@. I'm Anas Basil, a recent high school graduate with dreams of pursuing a degree in e-business management and building a career. However, due to my family's financial hardships, I enrolled at Khan Younis Training College (KYTC), affiliated with UNRWA. Sadly, the war has turned the college, once a beacon of hope and education, into a shelter for displaced families, stripping it of its educational purpose.
I completed high school with a 93% average, filled with excitement about continuing my education and securing a job to support my family. But like so many others, the war has shattered those dreams.
My younger brother, Ahmad, is 14 years old and currently in the third grade of preparatory school. We’ve always called him "Doctor of the Future" because of his intelligence and natural talent in mathematics. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing war, he has been deprived of schooling for the second consecutive year. In addition to his academic abilities, Ahmad has a passion for football and used to win tournaments.
Our Life in Displacement: The war forced our family to flee to Rafah, where we lived in a tent for several months. Each day, my brother and I would wake up to fetch water, gather wood, and light a fire to prepare food. Survival became our daily task, but we never gave up hope. The conflict affected us deeply, but it did not extinguish our dreams of education and a better future.
