[Day 31]: Rendog!

Decided to make a lil animation of our favorite Gigacorp employee for today's hermitaday :D He's exploring the recently discovered planet he build his base on.

Oh! What's that??? Looks like he got spooked by something... It was probably just the wind or something, right? I'm sure its fine... :)

Goodness gracious, i can't believe hermitaday 2024 is over??? THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IVE COMPLETED AN ART CHALLANGE LIKE THIS LMFAO-

Everyone say thank you to my adhd meds!!! Are they working properly??? Nope. Not at all. But they r making me hyperfixate on things 24/7, mainly art, which is probably the only reason i completed this LMFAO (my grades on the other hand... Are suffering... Oop-)

[Day 30]: TANUKI JOEL TANUKI JOEL TANUKI JOEL-

(Whenever i export animations, procreate sometimes messes up the colors a bit? It looks fine on my ipad, but the animation is desaturated on my phone, so here's what it should look like:)

Anyways, i thought it would be funny to draw Joel summoning Effo, inspired by Grian & Scar summoning mumbo during season 8. It turned out even sillier than i thought it would and i absolutely love it wkdhwjd

Also wanted to show off the sketch since it shows off the movement a lot better! I did end up changing a LOT (and even ended up adding some frames where i did lineart w/o a sketch inbetween... Oop-) but u can still kind of see the drag and offset?

So basically: since the tail isn't a stiff object like... A table or sth, it has multiple 'joints' (<-don't remember the proper term for it). Now, if u animated the tail just moving back and forth it would look v v stiff and wierd, since irl the tip of the tail would be "dragged along" with the bottom (<-aka the ACTUAL joint that the movement originates from). To create a more organic and realistic movement, you need to slightly delay the other parts of the tail. I usually use those lil circles to sketch this out at first, since its a lot easier to do without having to worry about shape and perspective and such.

(in theory i know wayyy too much about animation, but in practice im still struggling to do it bc i don't have much experience animating ekfhakdj- i do know the theory p well, which is why im hoping his lil explanation might help someone! Let me know if u guys want me to include some art theory lessons more often :D)

Decided to just do a quick colored sketch today :D except then i accidentally started rendering... Eh it still counts as a sketch! Kind of. I think. Maybe. :(

Istg this happens every time. I go "alr just a sketch today", i blink, and suddenly multiple hours have passed and i have a fully rendered piece with a background??? Like? I wonder why that happens... (looks at my adhd diagnosis) i cant think of any reasons why /s/j

LUCKILY! I did actually manage to convince myself to only spend an hour drawing instead of the usual.... 5 to 10 hours... (i mainly do traditional art so my digital art process is still VERY slow and VERY tedious... It's been getting better tho!)

[Day 27]: Grian! The pesky bird, the bad boy, the guy who got me into watching hermitcraft during season 7!

Look at him and his silly big eyes! Yep. They r ginormous, just like the moon. And its definitely the only odd thing about them... Don't look too closely tho :)

Ik this is a hermitcraft art challange, but just HAD to draw his badboy skin.

Oh and i gave him a silly necklace (that's hidden underneath his shirt) with absolutely no hidden meaning (<-lie) that i will definitely not elaborate on in future art! (<-depends on whether i remember to actually do it LMFAO)

Aaaaa i love the way this turned out! I saw a post a while ago mentioning how impulse complained about being drawn as v 'basic' in fanart, so i decided extra hard to try and capture his... Personality in this :3

Something i absolutely love about hermitcraft / the life series is their skins. Especially the fact that so many skins have complimentary color palletes??? It makes drawing them sm fun. (cleo for example, shes got red hair & bluish skin, which is a myc complimentary pair, but shes also got green which combined w/ the red is an rgb pair! Impulse got yellow and purple which is another rgb one :D)

Off topic but today was my math exam! It went... Bad if u consider im usually great at math, good if u consider i barely studied-

Technically im not supposed to know my grade yet, but somehow another class got their hands on the answer sheet and im p sure i have a 3? Might have a 2 tho, I obv don't remember all my answers lmfao- (fyi: 1 is the best grade, 5 is the worst. You fail if u get a 5 and in math you need >50% correct to get a 4 or better)

I usually get 1s and 2s in math, so a 3 isnt BAD but i could def do better. Im not too upset tho, i mean i literally choose to draw instead of studying so- it was def worth it :3

However, when i looked up his new skin mid drawing this, i realized HE DOES IN FACT HAVE SHORTS??? and i couldn't resist moving the wings a bit to show them off LMFAO

fun fact, I'm currently working on 5 different art projects for school. So uh yeah, now you know why I'm struggling to keep up w/ the art rqs LMFAO

For anyone curious, the projects are:

#hermithouse for art class (wooden miniature house + the environment surrounding it, currently trying to include as many hc refs as possible, suggestions r encouraged!)

a comic of Fahrenheit 451 for English class (it's supposed to be a timeline of events and had to include the main scenes, but i keep getting distracted and have alr added wayyyy too many unimportant scenes LMFAO)

a poster to encourage ppl to go vote for Religion class (<- im hiding pro protesting propaganda in it :3333)

a presentation of the book 1984 for German class(i couldn't find good pics for the power point so i decided to just draw them myself- WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF LMFAO)
