I love this! CAN SOMEONE PLEASE PLEASE DO A PIC, FANFIC OR ANYTHING SIMILAR?!? There’s too many Fanfics that have romantic characters or whatever (I’m sorry if that’s rude). I just prefer non romantic relationship dynamics lol. I’m sorry, I went OVER BOARD on tags (didn’t mean to lol!), had a seizure so brain is fuzzy today. I SHOULD be doing my Hawaiian language lesson for today now on DUOLINGO INSTEAD of obsessing over OMEGA (only bc she’s much harder to find lol) and/or ALWAYS TRY to find ANYTHING AT ALL that is OMEGA & CROSSHAIR; OMEGA & GROGU lol! Omega & Cross are fave sibling duo; Omega & Grogu are my all time fave characters lol!!!!

The Bad Batch, if they had to raise Omega from a baby, because thinking of this makes me SOFT

This has sparked from me now plotting out an AU which is exactly this, the five of them raising baby Omega. Stay tuned for that, in the mean time have some headcanons. They’re specifically meant to be about the five of them raising Omega together, but definitely work for each of them with their own kids, so enjoy!

This post is gonna be long because I have so many thoughts. @scarlettroseog and I had the best time discussing these!!

Crosshair: Crosshair is the one who stares at baby Omega when they first get her and is just like “how do I pick it up”. Tech offers to show him a useful holovideo on how to safely hold a baby. Crosshair offers to throw Tech into hyperspace. Once he gets the hang of it though, Cross is a natural and can often be found asleep with a baby on his chest. He loves baby cuddles more than life itself, but he’ll be damned if he let’s anyone know it. He has to act like holding her is the biggest inconvenience you could ever ask of him, but if someone else offers to take her, he’ll refuse. He reminds them he never said he wouldn’t hold her. 

Very much a silent protector, Cross is always incredibly aware of his and Omega’s surroundings and is always looking out for her. He’s most at ease when Omega is still in his eyeline, but as long as she’s with one of the squad, he know she’s safe.

Crosshair is an utter softie and has been caught singing to her, and crying when she grabbed and clung to his finger for the first time. He talks to her in the softest voice, and when she starts to babble he talks back as if they’re having a conversation. Little Omega hangs onto his every word. The others don’t understand why he tries so hard to hide his affections, they all think its the cutest thing ever. 

Oh, and he absolutely has no qualms cursing around her. He secretly hopes Omega’s first word is kriff to see Hunter’s reaction.

Tech: This. Man. Tech disappears for a whole day when Omega lands in their care, and re-emerges a child rearing expert with a large shipment of baby supplies on its way to them. He has gone to the ends of the Holonet to research absolutely everything he needs to know and eagerly passes on his findings to the others. He’s an expert swaddler to the point the others usually just leave that job for him. He’s tried countless to teach the others, but Hunter especially just cannot get the hang of it. One time they find him sat shirtless with baby Omega on his chest, and he explains how he read that skin to skin contact is really good for newborns and helps them bond and feel safe. He suggests making a rota for skin to skin contact. Crosshair tells him to never say those words ever again. His enthusiasm comes from a place of absolute love, but he does have to be reminded to rein it in from time to time.

Tech absolutely documents EVERYTHING. He’s so in awe of this extraordinary tiny human and all her potential. He tracks and logs her development and milestones, he’s recorded her crying countless times to try and decipher what she needs from how she’s crying. He even develops a pretty successful formula to help her get to sleep. This guy is revolutionising child care over here. He allows the others to add to his notes with cute pictures and stuff, so its more of a baby book than a scientific log.

Despite his eagerness to learn and give Omega the best care he can, the change she brings to their entire lives does unsettle Tech a fair bit. New priorities, new routines, everything has changed in some way. He does acclimatise, helped by how he dives into learning how to care for her, but its a difficult transition at first.

Baby Omega gives Tech a sense of protectiveness he’s never experienced before. She brings his emotions to the surface more than anything else ever could. He records a lot of sounds of her growing up, and the sound of her first laugh might just be his favourite sound hes ever recorded. He finds himself listening to it if he’s away from her for whatever reason. When he’s working on projects, he likes having Omega to keep him company. He crafts a little baby chair to attach to his work table, and she sits and watches him work. He talks her through what he’s doing, knowing full well she has no idea what he’s saying, but her sweet little smile makes up for it.

Wrecker: None of them have EVER seen Wrecker so gentle and careful. They warned him once that she’s fragile, and they never had to warn him again. He is also swaddling expert second only to Tech - he asked Tech to teach him and practised over and over again on Lula until he got it. Considering Hunter cannot do it to save his life, he’s very proud of himself. This guy is so, so sweet with her, he simply cannot cope with how tiny and adorable she is and will not rest until he has gushed about it to anyone who will listen. He even turned an unused storage crate into a crib for her with all the blankets she could ever need. He puts Lula in there too, but the fact she’s bigger than Omega gives Hunter anxiety so she is still Wrecker’s until Omega is bigger.

Not to worry, though, because Omega spends more time sleeping in the arms of her ori'vod than in the crib anyway. Tech has insisted multiple times that they should allow her to get used to sleeping in her crib, but even he is guilty of falling asleep with the baby in his arms.

My friend has a headcanon that Wrecker knits in his spare time as a calming activity and oh boy am I running with this. Hats. Wrecker makes all the hats for tiny Omega, and all five of them cried the first time she wore one of his creations. He doesn’t just stop there, she has blankets, stuffies, bootees, Wrecker should start his own knitwear etsy shop at this point. He plans to donate omega’s knitted things to people in need when she grows out of them. Wrecker is at his happiest sat knitting with little Omega fast asleep on him.

Echo: oh my god do not get me STARTED. I’m crying already. Echo is the sweetest most gentle soul and Omega is such a calming presence to him, and he has the same effect on her. A cuddle with Echo and she’s out like a light, and Hunter definitely isn’t jealous.

Due to his scomp arm, he always asks for help to pick her up or take her into his arms. He usually puts a blanket or something around the scomp as well, he’s so afraid that he could hurt her or cause her discomfort with it. He can’t hide that it gets him down, he wants to help out with Omega as much as the others can, he wants to be able to pick her up on his own without assistance.

Hunter takes him aside and reassures him that he’s doing a great job and that Omega clearly feels safe with him regardless. He knows how self-conscious Echo can get about his appearance and his disabilities, and reminds him how much of an incredible role model he is for Omega. Tech is already hard at work, though. If he hadn’t already been working on a prosthetic arm for Echo, he was now and working double time. Seriously, no one knows if Tech is even getting any sleep. At least once they have to force him away from his work and hand him Omega to give him a moment to calm down and relax. In the meantime, Wrecker knits Echo a little scomp cover, and Hunter and Crosshair fashion slings out of spare blankets, so Echo can hold Omega more easily and in general so everyone can hold her hands-free if they need to do something else at the same time.

Echo cries the first time he picks Omega up on his own, and in the same moment, Omega smiles for the first time. Now Hunter is crying, Wrecker is crying (more because he had been trying so hard to get her to smile for him), and Tech is leaping over furniture so he can capture the moment in time. 

Hunter: The Dad™. Also a nervous wreck. Hunter is the one you’ll find watching Omega sleep and constantly checking she’s breathing. And waking the poor thing up on occasion, just to be sure. Omega coughs once and immediately, Hunter.exe has stopped working and he’s probably called an ambulance. He puts on a brave face, but in reality, he’s terrified. He’s trained for battle, not parenting. He doesn’t know the first thing about raising a baby, but with his squad behind him (particularly Tech’s extensive research), he knows he’ll be just fine. The one thing hes certain about, from the moment she is left in their care, is that he is never, ever going to let anyone hurt this little girl. Ever.

He is also the one with the rules; no weapons around the baby, no cursing around the baby, no throwing the baby (no one intends to do so, but he wanted to make that very clear just in case), and no eating while holding the baby, after Wrecker dropped half his lunch on her one time. Hunter didn’t find it as funny as Omega did. 

His heightened senses come in very handy, he can often sense just moments before the crying starts, and unfortunately for him, he knows before anyone else when she needs changing. At times, the crying takes it’s toll and can contribute to a sensory overload, but with the rest of his squad on hand to help, that’s rarely an issue. If it isn’t his turn for night duty, he has his noise cancellers in, otherwise he’ll be waking up every time Omega does. He finds her presence calming like Echo does, she’s so peaceful when asleep, and her big brown eyes are so alight with curiosity when she’s awake. Hunter finds himself watching her silently observing the world around her, and enjoys going for walks with her strapped to his chest so he can show her just a little bit more of the world. Someday, he’ll show her the galaxy.

BONUS HEADCANONS:

- At first, the five of them end up doing everything together. Baby check up? All five of them are piled in that doctor’s office. Baby music class? It was Wrecker’s idea, but all five of them come along. After a while they learn that not every situation requires all five of them.

- Tech suggested making a baby care rota, but they didn’t need one. They just kind of manage to balance out the tasks and the cuddle time. Except Hunter. Hunter is selfish. Hunter will straight up steal the baby from one of his brothers when he decides it’s his turn for cuddles. The only exception to this is Echo. Hunter will never steal Omega from Echo.

Sorry for this absolute essay. I put more effort and focus into this today than I did at work. This has also helped massively in plotting out a couple fics surrounding The Bad Batch and a baby Omega. I cannot cope with the amount of fluff I’ve written today.

Here’s how the Bad Batch would behave watching Omega in her school play, because why the heck not?!

I would like to thank the @bad-batch-week discord for giving me the prompt “what the batchers would do if they weren’t soldiers”, that led me to this. 

Let me being by saying that they would all cry. All five of them are in tears. That is a given.

Crosshair: Now Cross absolutely will not let anyone see that he’s crying. But he is. She’s just so darn adorable and he can’t cope. He’s so proud of his vod’ika, she was so nervous and took some coaxing to do this, and she’s doing so great. 

Wrecker: Standing. Ovations. Every scene Wrecker is on his feet or letting everyone know that’s his little sister! Crosshair and Tech remind him to save the cheering and applause to the end of the show. He’s so proud he could burst, the tears are flowing, and he whispers to remind his brothers of this every five minutes. 

Tech: Omega’s performance is so profound it’s moved him to tears, and he’s not afraid to show it. Out of all of them, he was the least bothered about seeing this school play, but he’s come out of it a changed man. Truly inspired. Is in charge of filming because Echo is crying too hard. 

Echo: The proudest of moms. Was so sure he could stay composed but the moment that girl skips onstage he’s gone. Immediately hands the phone for Tech to film because his hands are shaking too much. Scolds Wrecker for the constant standing ovations but secretly wants to do the same. He and Hunter spend most of the show holding onto each other, crying.

Hunter: Utter crying wreck. This man is a mess. He loses his composure the moment she comes onstage. That’s his vod’ika! She waves at him excitedly from the stage and he gives her thumbs up. Everytime she catches his eye, its a thumbs up. He needs a nap after the show because he’s so exhausted from crying. Spends most of the show crying on Echo.

Omega: is literally playing a tree. But she’s having the best time.

BONUS HEADCANONS:

- The video of Omega’s performance is a whole mess. Tech is filming, but Crosshair thinks he could do it better. They show the video to Cid and realise it is mainly Crosshair and Tech aggressively whisper-arguing, Wrecker cheering, and Hunter and Echo could be heard sobbing in the background. (this one is inspired by @writegowrite‘s contribution to this thread). 

- Omega gets a louder cheer for playing a tree, than the kids playing the main parts. The Bad Batch have NO shame. Some find it adorable, though.

- They absolutely pick Omega up after the show and give her flowers, and celebrate with lemonade “champagne”. 

- If Omega falls over during the show, they all have to pin Hunter down before he dives onstage. Omega never loses her cool, though. She owns it, strikes a pose and gets right back on her feet. (another great idea from @writegowrite )

- If Omega has a singing solo, it’s over. The five of them are on the floor in a big crying heap.

If anyone wants to draw this, it would actually make my life. This has brought me a ridiculous amount of joy to write. Also pls add to this I beg u.

Crosshair as a Cheetah Doodles

I redrew Crosshair from some cheetah images I found on Pinterest a little while back for this post and have been wanting to do more since then.

So:

At first, those initial photos I used for the other post just fit the prompt of those doodles, but then I thought about it a little more and realized how similar Crosshair is to a cheetah.

- I've been/am currently fixated on them - they're my favorites and I love them so much. - Both start with a 'C' :P - All the cat-like qualities that they both have - Crazy great eyesight (Cheetah's 'tear marks' under their eyes cuts the glare of their sun - Crosshair has enhanced eyesight for sniper reasons) - Claws are always out (Crosshair metaphorically, Cheetahs literally since they cannot retract their claws unlike other big cats) - Both lanky and lean in their figures - Are often mistaken for being deadly threats (because cheetahs are still technically 'big cats' alongside lions and tigers) but really aren't - though there's still risk since cheetahs are wild animals - Incredibly adapted to being the best at one thing (Cheetahs: running, Crosshair: marksman) to the point where they're not really good at anything else and it's damning to them - Struggle with anxiety and need support for it

Those are like,, the basics because I didn't want it to be too long. But anyways yeah - Crosshair's fursona is a cheetah.

By the way, it's a really cool detail. In the beginning, being loyal to the empire, Cross was in cold lighting when the Omega squad was in warm lighting. In the third season after his return, Crosshair is now also bathed in warm shades.

Yes, he will move away from such news in series three or four. His little social brother, with the boring mode enabled in the 25/8 format, managed to get a ✨HoT GiRlFrEnD✨.

Forget about crosshair learning about Tech dying, forget about seeing the first scene of the crew reuniting. I need a scene where Crosshair learns that Tech of all people was able to swoon a pirate. His reaction would be legendary.

Exactly. In other words, this scene is steeped in symbolism and small details. This... really cool.

I love the attention to detail. Two islands of light. Crosshair on one, the others on the other. They perfectly displayed the huge gap that was created in the first season by Cross. Now he needs to regain the trust of his brothers after almost a year of living apart. From now on, the arc of Crosshair's correction begins in the eyes of the rest of the squad, his rehabilitation begins now and it is not known how soon he will be able to become a full-fledged part of this family again. When they trust him again and accept him as their own.

Omega will most likely help him with this. She was generally a ray of light, a supportive sister who you want to protect. She's the only one who believed in Cross, who trusts him even after all this time. Now that her brother has stopped listening to his demons and has begun his redemption, she must help him become Clone 99 again.

I sincerely hope that his story will not end with his death, otherwise we have already lost one.

Not sure if I’ve posted this yet, but I’m super sorry for my absence, I’ve just been super busy and i rediscovered roblox because mentally I’m 8 years old

Zay is Crosshair’s daughter, who was definitely an accident, he taught her how to use rifles and firepunchers from a very young age, so she’s just an unhinged 14 year old with too much energy and huge weapons.

She’s obviously named after Azalea flowers, because Azaleas are poisonous (I added a ‘Y’ into it for her nickname)

She was found in a woods when she was two by Emerie and Echo, who ran a DNA test on her to find out if they can reunite her with her parents, and then her DNA matched up to Crosshair (they later found her mother dead a couple metres away)

She constantly wears massive platformed boots, as she’s the youngest and likes to feel taller

Her hair is curly, but she straightens it, and streaks of her hair are slowly going prematurely white/grey, just like her dad

She got her first face scar on her jaw from playing with Hunter’s knife, and the one on her eyebrow from falling over and smacking her face on a sharp rock

She pretends to ‘meditate’ to ignore her cousins, but in reality she prefers to meditate with others

She found her kyber crystal in the ocean on Pabu when she snuck out one morning, and ran straight to Nav at 4am, because she liked it as it was ‘pink and shiny’

Even though her lightsaber has been made by Nav, and the blade is literally pink, she hates using it

She says she hates using it because she prefers being a sniper, and that it reminds her of her dad, but in reality, she hates using it because she knows that her dad worries that what happened to Jedi in the past will happen to her

She gets her rifle confiscated whenever she’s caught doing something ‘irresponsible’ with it by Lula or Lumiya

This is Azaylea (Zay) and she’s Crosshair’s daughter so she like,, doesn’t really have a last name

So here are some like facts about her!!

- Shes half Theelin, half Human and is no longer in contact with her mother (she died when Zay was two)

- She was found in a forest by Emerie and Echo, and they ran a DNA test on her to like,, find out where she came from, and then her DNA matched up to Crosshair’s and they were both like ‘wtf’

- She has a pink lightsaber!! She alternates between using Form II and Form IV (Ventress taught her Form II after Zay crash landed on a planet and ran into her)

- She found her kyber crystal in a cavern on Pabu, and has broken a total of 11 lightsabers (Nav made all of them and was not happy)

The Bad Batch if they auditioned for school musicals!!

(only making this bc i auditioned for a musical earlier today and i was so nervous)

Hunter: Auditions for the main male lead, flips his hair about eighty times whilst auditioning, only ever sings one verse of the song but always gets told it was more than enough and he did great, got the main male lead once, other than that, mostly background characters, because the performing arts teachers really like him.

Wrecker: Comforts the younger years who are auditioning for the first time and are nervous, usually goes for backstage crew to help out, but is happy to play any extras, always gives his opinion to his brothers when they’re auditioning.

Tech: Knows every single song and researches every character in advance, but applies for stage lights. Somehow gets talked into playing an understudy for one of the lead roles and absolutely smashing it (little hc of that he meets Phee through this, as she’s playing the love interest for the character that he is an undestudy for.)

Crosshair: Auditions for chorus, gets chorus, Hunter and Echo have tried to convince him to go for lead roles because, in their words, “why not”, but he always refused and did chorus, and was really good friends with one of the male drama teachers who said Crosshair was “eccentric”

Echo: Auditions for chorus, gets main cast, he actually has an amazing singing voice, and rehearses his song all the time, is really sweet to everyone else on the cast as a whole, but everyone loves him (who wouldn’t?)

Omega: auditions for main cast in her first or second year, but usually one of the younger characters, so she gets it, her brothers all come to see her in the musical

Fives: Doesn’t audition, but goes to every single show to support his brothers and absolutely loves it, all of it, and sometimes even helps them audition by running lines with them.

She’s exactly like her dad in the terms that she’s good at shooting and a sniper whilst also being just as stubborn too, and having a lightsaber which nobody trusts her with except herself.

Oh she also steals stuff for the rebellion with her older cousins since they’re bad influences :)

been getting back into drawing recently!! i’ve done a couple doodles and screenshot redraws (mostly of wrecker and echo) and tried to draw crosshair, but it definitely needs some work

Seeing the very obvious Autistic trait Tech experiences was such a gamechanger for me, I was absolutely ecstatic to see how perfectly well it was worded in the new episode. Im so happy I got to see some of myself in star wars🫶
