what an anlysis. but this ep does not exist.
Ok so as of 21:15 UTC, 21st November, there have been
Of these,
I mean, I guess those numbers are bad enough on their own but believe it or not they're actually an improvement on this afternoon's picture, where the divide was closer to 70-20.
Now obviously, the reception looks bad, doesnt it? Yes? Yes?
Yes.
But what's worth noting is that even dealing strictly with these 2 extremes, & handing the advantage over completely to the positive side (I.e. the 10/10 ratings), you end up with something like this-
But the average rating is 6.6/10. I would've taken the distribution of the ratings directly but I dont see any means to access it on imdb (maybe I'm just dumb).
Which leaves us to infer indirectly from the data above, that the people rating the episode positively, aren't reviewing as much as the people rating it negatively.
From over 7,000 ratings, let's try and estimate the general distribution of responses & see how it compares to that of the subset which reviewed.
Again, dealing strictly with extremes, we can reduce the problems to two variables for which we have 2 linear equations available
Let x be the percentage of 10/10 ratings, & y that of 1/10 ratings, then
I would've gone for a linear programming solution but there simply are not enough constraints without removing the other 8 variables from the equation.
62% said 10/10.
An almost completely inverted image of the reviewer response.
Its
Interesting.
There's really nothing this proves. True to the spirit of statistics, this was mostly pointless. All that can be substantially concluded is that at the very least, the people who were disappointed by the finale felt far more strongly about it than the people who weren't. The people who cared more were the ones left heartbroken. Whatever that's worth.
prayer scene, trembling amplified for feels
thnx and credit to op @judgehangman for all the tears caused.
“happiness isn’t in the having, it’s in just being, it’s in just saying it.”
“cas, i need to say something.”
well what did you think “mornin sunshine” meant huh? lemme tell u its purely romantic.
ofc dean and cas are in love and no one except TRumP’s reigned over west can hide that in ambiguity, censored romance and shitty finale.

throwback to other nicknames( HUGGYBEAR) and other subtext, because ROMANCE, and also callout to to parallels from good omens where crowley calls aziraphael “angel”. beacuse soft. and then netflix feels its too much, then prime goes on to air it. well dont i love the internet?
and lemme go watch all the softi romantic destiel, in an uncensored latino and arabic world because i need to see where this mixtape is, and hear “DEAAAAN” when dean gets to confess too.
When you're a notoriously bigoted tv network that's *this* close to getting away with 15 years of queerbaiting followed by the complete demolition of this dinosaur of a show that's actually a gay ass sitcom pretending to be a wife beater's choice of TV watching by blaming it on
Covid
When suddenly one day some ex castmember is publicly calling out your lies, one of the lead actors is vague posting about your rancid nuts on twitter, people are making conspiracy theories & in the midst of all this, the motherfucking
air the uncensored version of the episode where you textually canonized half your gay ship, making it now fully canon in spanish:
u’v all heard of dean the whore with a heart of gold, but now hear of castiel thee girlboss with a heart of kindness.
List of transgressions on Castiel's Crimingel(Criminal Angel) Record that got him Lobotomized (no order)
Stepping on the first fish that crawled onto land
Fucking the micheal sword (fine, simping 4 the micheal sword & attempting to sabotage the Grand Plan by warning him about the 66 seals)
Attempting to stop the crucifucation of Jesus
Dating Jesus
Vandalising the Earth (crop circles & geoglyphs are just enochian swear words & shit like "God can kiss my ass" & "Ishim is an incel". The White Horse of Huffington is actually a lewd drawing of Naomi)
Planning a coup when heaven refused to intervene during the Great Flood
Trying to pet Unicorns in his true form, accidentally killing them all
Planning a coup when heaven refused to intervene during the Mahabharat
The Tom Sawyer Incident*
Planning a coup when heaven refused to intervene when the Europeans started building ships
Hanging out in black holes (they are forbidden)
*[in 1978, Castiel stole the soul of Tom Sawyer right before its deliverance to hell, where Anubis determined it belonged, & smuggled it into heaven in an act of morbid academic curiosity. It was dubbed to be the "height of [Castiel's] insolence", & his punishment was severe. Tom's trip to heaven contaminated his soul balance, & he had to be sent back to earth. He died again almost 30 years later. He went to heaven.]

me.
people can hate doom scrolling and yes yes sense. go wiggle your toes. clouds and sunshine are nice. rolling in grass and hoarding pebbles seems is joyful and these papers need to be folded or scribbled over. numbers and words are very productive i see.
but ,honestly the internet is so beautiful. its good to delve deep. find those oyesters.
goto go make origami for my rocks to look at.
@dreamnovak :( i abosolutely on point, but ur blog has beautiful gif-set studies and i think they say a lot, plus the softest one liner cas appreciations make me melt.
randomly gonna attach castiel’s theme (actually the whole destiel theme, that is the cas’s theme melting into destiel overlay and ending in dean’s theme that plays during the confession scene poetically)
credit to Skyler Williams
ps-plz reblog with castiel studies. :(((
i scanned your beautiful cas tag, but i still can't find any meta analysis posts of castiel's character, the sheer majesty and depth of the precious character are so much, but i couldn't find much on tumblr abt cas's psyche and arc in words. like there's a lot of wonderful dean character studies( because ze is beautiful and deserves it. ) , and they're lovely, i want some cas ones too.
hello!! honestly yeah i agree with you :( every time i try to talk about cas it dissolves into me just rambling incoherently because he’s so big and it’s incomprehensible!!! I’ve said this before but I don’t even think the show understood what they were getting into? They just casually offhand mention that cas is almost 400 million years old. And then casually mention his true form is giant. And then also, later on, they suddenly make him a member of an endangered species (a species who consider themselves a family) and they just......gloss over the potential emotional impact of that
like I can’t even THINK about it all at once, let alone write about it (although I’ve tried to explore his psyche a lil more in fic, it’s just...so hard to be comprehensive)
i know you said you went through my cas tag so idk if anything on my blog will help but if anyone else has excellent cas analysis they wanna drop in the replies pls do
